scifi often envisions a future with sexbots as physical human-like bots, but I don't think that's remotely realistic in the foreseeable future. nobodys gonna confuse a robot for a real person anytime soon. what we have now is uncanny valley life size dolls with high tech dildos or the finest fleshlights installed, and I don't think the tech is gonna get much better from there. this is a good thing, if sexbots existed as they do in fiction it would probably do irreparable damage to our brains and society. what scifi doesn't really talk about to my knowledge, is high performance language models.
as of recently, openai's gpt3-turbo model is available for API calling and doesn't seem to have a filter when you do, or at least not a very good one. i enjoy reading smut over watching porn videos, but I have particular tastes and it's hard to find decent material. i had tried roleplaying with some weaker unrestricted models in the past but they required babysitting to behave how you want and weren't particularly good. i stopped using it pretty quickly, but lately heard about the gpt3-turbo api and its lack of filter and decided to give it a try. gpt3-turbo blows every other unfiltered ai out of the water, it's not even close. it's not as good as ChatGPT, but it's pretty remarkable, better than character.ai or any other competitor ever was. you can set a character quickly, it will understand what you want, and it'll respond with what you want most of the time. like any language model it'll get stuck repeating itself sometimes, but it's genuinely good for ERP without much fiddling.
so is this going to break my brain? I feel like I'm walking on thin ice here. it's unsettling in a way I can't describe and I feel like I'm going to become that guy that married his Nintendo DS. should I stop?
