I archived it as well, unfortunately the last few posts came afterwards, and were lost.

>Dark colors have light grain, light colors have dark grain
I suppose it's hard to explain but personally I think, in combination with the 'auras' I see, it helps a lot for seeing in the dark. Despite the fact I have a lot of other issues with my eyes, I think I see better in the dark than others. It adds contrast.
>like a swarm of insects
I feel you on this one. I have schizophrenia and occasionally I'll hallucinate my snow as a field of crawling insects all over my vision, it's very upsetting.
>black grain a rainbow colored component
Component? Like, is it an 'undertone' so to speak, overlapped with the eigengrau?
>For example I can vaguely see it on a black wall or overlayed on the visual scene, but it's like it's "zoomed in". Looking at something far away it becomes quite obvious that the vortex is the macro structure of the grain pattern all the time, if you were to look at it from a distance. It's very clear on clear blue sky, but you can pick it out on complex scenes, provided it's distant.
This really strikes a chord with me, yeah, I've never thought about it in that way but you're right. I've always thought of it as like, part of my visual "sphere" that goes out as far as I can see, but objects interrupting my vision to that distance "catch" the snow and stop it from going out. Sometimes this makes me feel very trapped.
>it "looks"/feels like they're actually white, with a sort of gel character, and they have pink, blue, yellow, and some other dots moving around inside them. Not sure exactly what conjurs this partially internal imagery, but anyway.
I think the color is 'eigengrau'. It's a german word for the kind of coalescence of grey/white/black you see while your eyes are closed. I've found that the kind of eigengrau seen in snow is like, low saturation, and in hallucinations I've seen high saturation eigengrau that has many colors in it at the same time. It's very beautiful, I wish other people could see it.
>I've found if I stand too quickly, suddenly over exert, or move my head the wrong way, I'll start seeing many blue-white sparks (like classical scintilalting scotomas) moving around my vision.
This is normal to everyone I think. It's caused by too much blood rushing to your head at once. That's how I usually describe VS to people, "Ever stand up too fast and see TV static?"
>This is a very rare occurrence however, maybe once or twice per year at most. It does suggest either a compression or blood flow component however.
Never heard of this, thank you for sharing. It might sound a little bit silly but I feel like there's a lot of information that could be learned by studying visual snow. I hope thorough research will be done one day.
I'm not sure necessarily what I think about the cervical idea. I don't have any issues that I know of related to it and nobody else in my family has VS. In the future I'll definitely pay more attention to my spine and neck to see if I can notice anything. Thank you for your time, I try to thoroughly ask people about VS every time I can to see what I can learn. A few times that's led me to have people realize they have it in the first place.
Has anyone else heard the 'cable mites' story? I'm curious if maybe that could be a type of snow. The story goes that there's a common 'shared delusion' among people who work in offices and with cables. That there's small black 'mites' that eat through cables.

A very odd deletion indeed. What mod did this, what was their reasoning and motive? Deja vu.

This would be best asked in a >>>/q/ thread, but I checked the logs. It was a soykaf opening post, just like this one. Expect it to be deleted. We are not like 4chan, we don't care for soykafty opening threads that are hoping for good discussion.
With that being said, I'll pass along this to the mod who deleted the thread, so if he wants to respond, he can. Although, I very likely summed it up well.

I find your position to be basically incomprehensible. Sorry.

Not a prior poster in this thread, but requesting that you let it live. I know the OP is short/not up to lainchan's exacting standards, but the subsequent discussion was really insightful, and losing it reduces the quality of the board IMO.
(Biased b/c I used to have severe visual snow, although it's mostly gone away now.)

You being arguably "biased" is irelevant. Other people can fuarrrk off and learn to deal with the fact that not everything is about them.

That is totally outrageous man. This is probably the worst mod call I've ever seen on this site and the fact that two kids agree on it just multiplies that. There was nothing wrong with the opening post. Your post cannot be understood as any kind of reasoning or justification for deletion. You just call it soykaf but with now expansion. And as is already evident many users disagree with you. This is really poor form for moderation.
