>derezzed from 4chan and other forums I regularly browse >most internet friends during middle/high school have are inactive and moved on (myself included) >only have 3 people I regularly talk to >Haven't seen either of them in person in months >one is a long-distance relationship >another explicitly told me they consider me a casual friend and don't like talking frequently (it's a women) >my last and closest friend I've known since hs I hardly talk too anymore because too lazy For the first time in my life I'm genuinely going to be completely and utterly alone. I don't how to cope anymore without the internet

>>67799 >You made your bed, now you must lie in it. This is wrong. Often times our conditions are made for us, and then the burden thrust onto us. Even Lain's ending theme describes this. The key is to get passed out where the bed came from entirely.

Im in a similar rut, except for lainchan, which is the only chan or site i interact with, i am on 3 chats. One has like 10 people in it who barely talk another only 5 leftover then there is matrix with a few people whom i dont have much that to talk to. Irl i barely have friends left, one is having a bad time and gone back to boozing and totally in a depressive hole of the worst kind. My best friend is a xanax head junkie who has about as much issues as the average lainchanner and totally crazy and i dont know when to call him or why and even what to do. Another other is also a alcohic with lots of issues, for some reason thinks i ratted him out to the cops and cant be trusted anymore, or never could be in hindsight to be honest. Others i barely meet or talk to, theyre either busy or depressed to hell and none of us likes to talk on the phone. Needless to say about each one of us is on a dead end track stuck in nearly dead life. I cant stand people, i dont want to meet new people in fact i would be most happy if everyone just fuarrrking died already. Needless to say there is no reason for any person who is not completely abnormal to talk to me and when they do they or i regret it. I consider going back to tulpamancy and/or doing chatbot deving when i can get myself out of my own depressive hole. This year i want to change my personality and pretend im someone different as an experiment, still have to flesh out the details but i want to go down that route, i dont expect anything or care much what happens, but i want to just try changing myself because my life is dead end.

I also got derezzed from 4chan somewhat recently, for a very odd interpretation of the rules (went on their IRC to ask about it because it seemed like definitely a mistake, but somehow was not). Wasn't a long ban, but it made me think; users have no visibility into how the shape of discussion is being curated. You think you're interacting with a community of people, but how much of that community and what statements get through is selected by the people in control? How many people are exiled, and why? You can't even know. That disgusts me and I can't see it the same way anymore. There is nothing like citizenship on the web, we're more like livestock. Other large social media is even worse than 4chan for that. If you look at Reddit through the lens of a ban visibility site, huge portions of comments in every thread are shadowderezzed, virtually every user getting a portion of their writings concealed and deleted and hardly any realize it. Some people say return to IRL is the solution, but I'm not seeing it. I've joined meetup groups but to a large extent their structure is an extension of social media; in some cases it seemed like I couldn't really connect with anyone because much of the real networking was done through Facebook which I am derezzed from for ultimately unknown reasons that they refused to elaborate on. Covid made it very clear that we need online spaces, but online spaces are fuarrrked. I don't know what you should do OP, I have never been able to hold onto what few and limited friendships came along. They seem good in theory. They disappear and new ones fail to materialize. It's easier if you don't quantify it. I want to fix the internet though. Doesn't even matter if it can ever solve my personal problems. It should not be a mechanism for isolating and disempowering people. Isn't that something worth being angry about?

>>67798 How old ru? If ur still in college its not too late. I'm in the same situation, have 2 online friends but it doesn't feel like enough social interaction at all. And I've kinda exhausted the conversation with them, like do u ever get the feeling as though you can't get any close to a person than you already are? That's kinda how it is. We just check on each other now and then to feel a bit less lonely together. Kind of like how hobos gather around a trash can thats on fire idk what else to do but use imageboards and media to cope. Leaving school this year so its gonna only get harder from here. Hope my coworkers will be cool but, I'm not optimistic at all about it

>>67798 If you have energy enough, intense sports might regulate your brain away from sadness. If your troubling about it is emotional rather than energetic... well, the want for socializing is something I've regarded a disease from long ago, like every other pulsation that painfully requests you to do something and then blames you about what you could do nothing about

Why the hell would you try to befriend a woman? Anyways, this is how its been for me my whole life. After about ten years you get used to it >>67839 This. So much this.

>>67828 Getting derezzed from 4chan is a badge of honor. If you aren't getting derezzed regularly then you aren't brewing soykaf hard enough and should work to do better

>>67798 Go to any kind of social club like a volleyball team or church or get a job at the office. Go to a bar, visit a theatre, Look around at the bookstore Take a class in college or something. The possibilities are endless. If you can't find motivation to move, then lay there. If you wanna know what awaits you read some accounts, there are plenty of them Don't think you can avoid it without some serious effort. Relationships is hard. Going outside is hard Life is hard Your dick is hard and wants to fuarrrk. You know, you have hot blood full of hormones in your veins, you're breathing living young man Go out there and fail miserably, be cringe be humiliated and rejected Learn from it, grow, become seasoned, wise up, see the patterns. Settle down with someone you love and that should cover the loneliness issue. No more cold bed, a lot more warmth, breathing sounds, light smell of sweat and shampoo. A real human life existing righ beside you, you can lean and hear the heartbeat. Very soothing

>>71454 Well, since I wrote that 3 months ago I just haven't posted there at all. I'm getting older and adversarial brewing soykaf was never much my style even when it sort of was. I want to put effort into interesting or useful discussions, but if moderation wants to curate my idea of that out of existence, they have the tools to succeed and my effort to improve their platform is wasted.

>>67798 4chan is a mind parasite that destroys relationships and humanity. From the ashes of your online identity, a new human you can be born! Stop being online, go live your life! :) If you're the same one from sushichan, know that we still believe in you. Go and be your best self, and live your best life.

>>67839 > I have no friends whatsoever. I don't understand what I'm supposed to do. You're at rock bottom, the only way is up! Its not that you'll never have friends, its that you have 8billion potential friends you could make right now :) It starts with something as simple as walking up to a stranger and striking up conversation. It will take practice and adjustment, but that's just life! Start with a walk around your neighborhood. Don't have to say anything to anyone, just enjoy the walk and the view, smell the roses, and realize that every setback in an opportunity to grow.

>4chan 4chan caused the site to be locked for days, 4chan is the place where all the alt-righters come from polluting everything with their worthless vomit. Anyone who uses 4chan deserves the stake.
Boris Grishenko · 2023-06-14 18:57
>>71500 Absolutely agree lain. I've seen them polluting other boards recently with their horrendous temper-tantrums and soykaf "discussions". Their minds have been ruined by the "culture" they've engrossed themselves in, they've lost the ability to act reasonably or discuss any interesting topics without throwing a fit. I think >>71473 was right. There's something about using 4chan that addles the mind of its users as though they were possessed by a mimetic parasite that uses them to propogate worthless ideas and political verbal vomit onto everything they can. They're like zombies, they can't even imagine or enjoy a life without the site, which might be the saddest thing about them (if you feel inclined to pity them). But why are they that way? And is there a way to get them out of the pit, wake them up to better etiquette, to better boards, and to better lives? Or are they simply doomed by their own poor choices?
SHODAN · 2023-06-17 15:23
>>67798 That's one of the reasons as to why I've decided to stop putting in effort into making new connexions. I've found a few new people at uni and they seem to like to gravitate around me but I'm keeping myself away from commitment as I'm scared I'll eventually get abandoned again and more and more regrets will terrorize me every night.

>>67801 Not him but >If I can't even strengthen the string that is my social life how the hell can I become a normal functioning person? It's unironically over I speak from personal experience. Dude listen, this is the same soykaf you see everywhere on the internet specially on obscure neckbeard websites. You see it in *chans, reddit, forums, youtube, etc. Leave the net and go live outside. Find a job, find a non tech related hobby, do something, anything at all. Spending you days browsing the internet won't fix your problems in fact ti will only make you feel more and more like soykaf. What worked for me was finding a job sure it was stressful and i wanted to quit multiple times trough the years but the money i made and the people i met trough my job sparked a number of new interests for me and by pursuing these hobbies helped me cope with my loneliness. If you really are a introvert you will never have many friends but if you become a digital hermit nothing will change.... well except for the fact that you have less years of life, and probably missed a lot of opportunities because you are overthinking. ah and btw even though i said all that soykaf i don't ahve any friends. I interact with a lto of people and am on good terms with them but i feel like true friendship is not possible after childhood. Having that guy who is you got to man. So don't keep dreaming of something that might not exits.

>>71520 As a 4chan addict (I know! I know!), I'm inclined to agree with you. But, in all fairness, there are good boards you can't find anywhere else, like /ck/ or /diy/. Mostly because alt righters are less attracted to spamming those boards with their mental diarrhea. /p0l/ helped ruin the internet, big tech and the NSA couldn't have done it without them. Given that the lead mod of the site is said to be an Afghan war vet, I wouldn't be surprised if he's working with the feds and the keep the diarrhea flowing for their own purposes. >But why are they that way? A lot of the sites current users flocked to it because they were attracted to the soykafhole that is /p0l/ and /r9k/. Majority of these people aren't interested in imageboards, anime, sane discussion or even soykafposting, they just want a place where they can mentally jerk off and share their worthless ideas without being derezzed. >is there a way to get them out of the pit? Well, they were already fuarrrked up before they came to 4chan. If not there, they'd be stinking up some other site or writing whiny white genocide poems on stormfront or some random subreddit. 4chan has become a collection of people kicked off mainstream social media for incendiary views, the site's soykafty admin gave these fuarrrkers a clubhouse they could share and a base from which they could send brigades to stink up the whole god damn internet. Now, I'm not saying everybody's hopeless, but it's scary how consistent use of trashy boards can fundamentally warp the mind of any sane person. I remember around 2016ish, I used to have a friend who was a dyed in the wool anarchist intellectual type and after he started using /p0l/ it became impossible to have a basic conversation without him ranting about niggers and the Jewish question. At first you think it's a joke, then you realize the guy's brain is permanently stuck like a broken record.
