Why does a person fall in love? Why do people feel this emotion? Can't a person live without these feelings? Wouldn't people be more productive in their work life and things like that by not feeling these emotions? Yes, I'm sure they will. These things make us use our time, which is the most precious and irrevocable thing. I just realized this. And now I'm starting to get rid of this kind of nonsense from my life. Well, humans are social creatures. but when we spend this sociability ourselves productively, then we can have a perfect social life. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR LIFE WITH THESE SUCH THINGS!!!

>Why does a person fall in love? Why do people feel this emotion?
You meet someone cool and your brain chemicals go brrr. Like Elvis said, you cant help it (https://yewtu.be/watch?v=vGJTaP6anOU). But you can choose whether or not to pursue this infatuation. If you choose not to, your brain chemicals will brrr in a bad way and make you feel bad. If you choose to and you're successful, and the person is the right person for it, you'll fall in love, and it will feel really really good.
Then maybe things go badly, and you break up, or your lover dies. For the rest of your life, you'll remember how good it felt to be in love, and you'll probably have desire to feel it again, though maybe you'll be content without it.
You might also just seek love because without it, you feel lonely.
>Can't a person live without these feelings?
Yes, some people are content to never fall in love. Some never even experience infatuation. Some people are content to never fall in love, but then fall in love anyways.
>Wouldn't people be more productive in their work life and things like that by not feeling these emotions?
I've been more productive since falling in love because I feel amazing most of the time and I want to be the best version of myself possible for my partner. I was productive and motivated before, too, but it has given me some extra energy.
Productivity isn't the only thing to live for, though, and certainly not the only thing that motivates most people.

If you're worried about productivity then the production of human life would still be in and of itself productive. Reproduction, and all the silly chemical nonsense that it entails, is a form of productivity and one backed by the long, arduous process of evolution at that. We're animals, it's what we do. If we stop doing it then eventually we die off, so the impulses and feelings remain. Doesn't really matter if societal standards and processes have reached a point where such base instincts can be safely ignored by most, it hardly means that people actually will do so and for a myriad of equally base reasons - attraction, affection, love, sex, these things inherently feel good and we like feeling them provided one is functioning normally. It's a disappointing explanation but a simple one all the same.

Babies take a long time to develop into grown humans and it takes a lot of energy and knowledge
It's easier to do this with a couple
So people fall in love to raise a family, nature needs up sticking together for the early days of a child's development plus it helps people make children in the first place.
You troons are crazy

The height of productivity is producing a new generation that builds upon the works of the past to reach new heights. No single person will ever solve all problems, and all efforts of a single person are next to none compared to the efforts of a civilization. Investment in the future compounds, so I would posit the opposite of you.
But at the same time, everyone chooses how they want to live their lives and there is no reason to denounce your view, as long as it doesn't border some extreme form of antinatalism or similar activism.

How the hell do you read "troons" into any of this?

true love, i.e. the joining of two souls as one, is the most beautiful and pure set of feelings you can encounter in this life
Fred Nurk · 2022-12-11 00:28
One day you realize you could get sick and no one would be around to help you, and I mean you really realize it. You get so sick you cant get out of bed to get water but your dehydrated to the point of passing out and start to fear for your life. Then you find someone else who if they got that sick youd want to be around to help them and the idea of no one being there for them is not an option to you. They might also do a lot of things you have navigated the world up to this point without and vice versa, and you realize though you have survived up to this point doing as you do, you would not have the skills to deal with numerous things this other person has.
If this all sounds very grim its cause its not really what "love" is all about but its certainly part of it. And maybe you have a platonic friend you live with and thats your "partner", and by virtue of corenting some place your fates are tied. Its not an uncommon situation, but if on the other hand you think your friend you know from work, or from school, or this and that failed date friendship, is going to be able to help you when it REALLY matters. Im not talking about your depressed and some ideological thing about how only we can help ourselves, im talking about situations where without the help of someone else you are facing huge losses and even loss of your own life, youd be correct they probably can help you. Like once or twice and only if you two are really close, not because people suck but because they might already have someone they are taking care of including themselves or simply are only capable of taking care of themselves right now. This isnt some jab or me being bitter about people being single, I think someone who remains single can still for all intents and purposes have a partner of sorts. This is a jab at people who have some kind of "love only hurts people.... every girl ive loved hurt me bro" type deal because there probably is someone who would love you and wants to care for you and you dont want to care for them and that isnt brain chemistry, im so tired of this "there just wasnt a spark" nonsense its always coming from the mouth of someone who found something perfect for themselves and pseudopsychologically explains it on some belief that we are by default attracted to certain things and only those things and they cant change. If your view of love is that it wastes peoples potential and productivity then maybe you love bad things that do that and/or hang around people that do, and thats just a you problem, not anyone elses. I personally love people that make me see the real weight of the world and my life and drive me to do things with urgency, so I dont really agree with you fundamentally. And when im alone? Well now I have a sense of it for myself thanks to the people I love, and I can only wonder what other senses await to be gained from loving people.

He didn't, it's just what people on imageboards say to each other now. It's not like this chan speak has really much rhyme or reason to it

You're absolutely correct and not a lot of people will understand because people don't really experience a balance of life anymore. They either become detached from wanting anything to do with people because they only experience the negative side of humanity and don't understand that there is a good side. Then there are people that only know being loved and cared for and never learned how to deal with the negative side of humanity when it inevitably comes around. All in all this results in a broken sense of how to connect with other people.

Humans didn't evolve to be productive lainon. We evolved to travel the lands in clans of 50-200 people on foot hunting and gathering, to have 6 kids of which 2 might survive past 10, and to die before reaching the age of 40.
A lot of things, like love, seem irrational on the surface but really aren't. It's a great evolutional tool to bring two people together and perhaps create offspring. Our Brains are pre-wired for this, you'll invite loneliness and alienation if you reject this. Perhaps you'll get lucky and they don't come, but I made the same realization years ago but trying to implement it only led to more misery. Don't reject your hunanity lainon, embrace it

all my other goals are superfluous. this is the only thing i really want to experience in this life. i feel like i could have had a connection like this with a few people, but they were either on the internet or computers themselves...
