Stolen Time

Tequila · 2022-08-05 15:09
It's time to compare experiences. Every single day people inevitably steal my time by not sticking to some form of time THEY initially suggested. It has become absurd lately and I'd guess that 8 out of 10 times I am told about a time and an event, it does NOT HAPPEN as I was initially told. People occupy free space of my time by making appointments they either cancel or reschedule multiple times on short notice. And I'm not talking about specific assholes, it seems like this is the new norm of everybody. They also seem to be completely ignorant about the effect of their actions on other people. I have to reschedule my actions multiple times a day due to other people rescheduling their actions with me. It's like a butterfly effect where one person cancels an appointment, then I reschedule my time which may effect other people, they reschedule their time aswell and after a couple of iterations the whole planet is busy appointing time aswell as canceling each other. I cannot avoid this behavior either since it seems to occur everywhere now. Did you notice similar behaviour lately?

>>61550 Well, timeliness is considered White supremacy. So, society has been trying to do away with such things, like arriving on time (or 15 minutes prior.) It doesn't help that selfishness is the number one virtue today.

>>61550 I stopped making commitments years ago. My memory is so soykaf I forget the day of the week anyway. If people want an appointment with me I ask them to use the downstairs doorbell so I have enough time to get dressed while they climb the stairs. If they don't they'll survive the two-minute wait.

Life is busy and soykaf pops up. Scheduling things is a pain that you're going to have to learn to live with it. >steal my time Maybe if you're living in the past and have to wait around at the meet up place only to realize they're not showing, but we have near instantaneous communication now. Just double check plans are still on before leaving the house and if they cancel, go do something else. It's not a big deal.
