Have you ever met in person with someone you shared a long-distance relationship with? How was it?

I'm trying my best to meet mine, from studying her language so I get higher priority in an exchange to her country next year to seeing how I can visit sooner. But I don't want to rush it, so I'm not worrying too much about it and just making adjustments to my routines as needed. She's well worth it.

>>61363 Do you have the "spoiler image" checkbox next to the post button checked? Some browsers will remember that setting.

>>61361 yes. we met up twice and had fun, but the distance was too far (2500 miles) so it wasn't tenable. i would do it again with someone close enough to visit more often.

I ended up spending two years with mine. She came to my country briefly, then I moved to hers and we were married and later divorced. Some of it was hell but I don't regret any of it because it all made sense at the time. We ended up meeting a few dozen other people from the same online community, going on roadtrips, staying on each other's couches. Some of them are still my penpals. Some are dead by now too.

Yeah, it was more stressful than it should have been. Meeting someone face-to-face is qualitatively different from meeting them online. You're basically meeting them all over again, but with the assurance that you already basically know them. Currently my rule is no long-distance.
