ultra social world

would you say the world is too connected?
most of us are spending 99% of our time feeding off of human opinions 24h/7.
what are the consequences?

I won't make any statement about not spending enough time alone, as I sincerely have no opinion on the matter.
However, concerning social connections, I think we should make sure to always differentiate between same-level social relationships and parasocial relationships. Both are maybe equivalent in terms of filling instinctive need for social activities, but the latter, due to its one-sidedness, doesn't bring all the advantages of the former.

I actually prefer the way the world is now. Never in my ancestors' lives has anyone ever got to see a Chinese person speak Chinese. Nobody has watched a Japanese anime girl play video games on livestream. Nobody has gotten to experience a whole world of niche Internet fetish pornography. The consequences are immense, but I think they are going to be mostly positive. It's a good thing that poor people finally get access to information that would have been purposely kept from them by the powers at be.

Are these things what you call freedom? Are these things really a fitting rebellion against "the powers that be"? I've got news for you - those "powers that be" couldn't wish for anything better than you wasting your life on such trivia. That ensures you will not truly care about anything that matters, such as the truth of our existence and purpose in this world, or the rights being ripped away from you day by day.
None of the nonsense you mentioned will be worthwhile consolation on your deathbed, and I doubt they are even fitting consolations in your daily life - simply meager compensations that keep you just about ok with the way things are now.
Consider spending your time online (and offline, where possible) in a way that actually matters. I found this video on natural law and rights quite impressive recently: https://iteroni.com/watch?v=ASUHN3gNxWo

>those "powers that be" couldn't wish for anything better than you wasting your life on such trivia
The powers that be within my society wish for me to be completely engrossed within their Western culture that's entirely divorced from reality. By consuming Chinese content, Japanese content, and making meaning of the greatest 'natural' sensation known to man, I am fighting back against the mind worms that have infected so many people within my culture (abrahamic values, social justice values, consumerist values). I don't spent money on this content, and I haven't spent money on any content for a very long time.
>the rights being ripped away from you day by day.
I don't know what you mean. I was never allotted rights in the first place -- actually. I was born to a very poor broken family, in a country that tries it's hardest to stunt intellectual growth because it's "racist" for people to be educated at their in-born intellectual levels. I have no understanding of how to interact within my society to meet cultural specific goals, neither does anyone in my family, and I don't feel like spending the years learning how to fit in within my society. I have no power within my society, let alone rights; rights are something that I shouldn't even be whining about, not until I get even a modicum of power. And power which I will never actually receive, thus I hide away.

I think at this point even in the event of societal collapse and reset one of the first things that would be made a priority after basic survival would be communications and although I dont think like wed instantly be trying to make cellphones I think wed probably progress through the development of communications like 100x as fast as it took to get to this point in recorded human history. And I think that we are even here is inevitable. I think even if you had some master plan or tried to make that impossible in this new hyppthetical world, some sort of tower of babel esque warning, it would just become a point of contention and any kind of thou shalt not try to remake the internet would just be breached in time.
I think what I think about whether we are too connected, about the internet, about social media etc. matters very little and its probably better to think about how we want to go about using this stuff and how we go about developing new stuff cause i think its only ever going to go more in the direction of more connected. In that sense you asking what are the consequences is always a good thing to ask because we do need to think about the consequences. Its just to me if I was some sort of master of technology in the world and someone came to me proposing all these consequences of communications technology and us being too connected I wouldnt even think "oh they are trying to tell me we should stop using/developing that" id just think "those are some great points to keep in mind moving forward". If you told me for sure that continuing to develop
and use communications and the internet is going to cause everyone to develop cancer down the line id think "well we better find a cure for cancer".

For what it's worth, the world wasn't distributed well back then. Maybe the internet accelerated the distribution, but I'd say it was mostly better transportation.
For example my school has a large Asian population with most of them being from abroad.

I don't know about your personal ancestors, but I think you're underestimating the amount of travel that's sometimes occured. 100 years ago there were a lot of chinks in the US for instance as cheap labourers, and people do travel about as well. The fact that your ancestors might have been less likely to be neighbors with foreigners doesn't mean they'd never see foreigners, the fact that they couldn't hop on a plane to a different continent for the price of a day's work and a couple hours doesn't mean they couldn't travel at all.
This is the equivalent of OP asking if maybe people today are too fat and replying with 'oh but my ancestors didn't have hardly any food at all they were just STARVING ALL THE TIME OH MY GOD'.

I think that the theory of 'over-socialisation' has weight for a much broader chunk of the population then anyone is willing to admit.
Some people don't even seem physically able to sit fuarrrking still and enjoy a moment of solitude / silence, they need constant human interaction.
But on the bright side.
The Asocial and the maladapted to meatspace person to person interaction either due to Social hypergamy outside of their control and / or Neurology and / or fear of social ostracization due to their opinion/behaviour/politics, May find solace and a 'way to be sociable' via the internet - These people who are usually Asocial in their irl lives, but social online. Probably have a much better chance of just being 'evened out' at this point then the previously mentioned grouping.
So basically the Social are being driven into becoming dopamine addicted Zombies constantly craving more interaction both irl and on the other side we have the Asocial who are more likely to use the internet and its opportunities like a ladder.

I like Japanese stuff because angst has gained too much cultural currency in America. Pop culture has marketed edginess as coolness for too long. You can't have cuteness or tenderness in art for the fear of being cringe. Everything has to be neurotic, moralistic and confrontational.
This is a cultural expression of being ill at ease with the world and being ill at ease with yourself. The average American n*rmie is deeply unwell. Even when he senses that something's wrong, he can't help but be brutish and self-miserable. He brings up mental illness only as an excuse to wallow in it, idly talks of self-improvement to cover up his inner numbness, autistically mistakes argumentation for socialization, etc, etc.
I can only thank God (non-abrahamic) for anime and k-pop. All glory to the east!

>You can't have cuteness or tenderness in art for the fear of being cringe. Everything has to be neurotic, moralistic and confrontational.
This is such an uninformed take. There are entire genres of American/English language television that are basically cute girls doing cute things. My significant other is huge fan of the so called period dramas and most of those shows are comparable in function to slice of life anime. Except with storytelling, writing, acting, production values and budgets that are completely out of reach for *anything* animated coming from Japan. Seriously, anime is just so unbelievably cheap to produce, a single episode of a hit Netflix show has a budget equivalent to two seasons of average anime.
Anyway, from the point of view of your generic normal person TV watcher the problem with anime is not the cuteness or tenderness and it's not even the cringe factor, the problem with anime is that it's boring. The stories are boring, the characters are shallow and the entire medium reuses the same tropes and ideas over and over and over again. It's cheaply made, disposable genre fiction.

Period pieces are history rewriter prapaganda / political message fiction / social engineering.
You're literally praising ye ol' Personaliy Cult's means of apotheosis [& egregore creation]. Look that word up, egregore. That's what you're feeding, a "hyperstructural simbiotic orgasism" that lives in the decentralized mind of humans and feeds on their attention - cultured for various purposes of social engineering AKA "enchantment magic".

That's why you watch the two or three good series that come out each year then discard the rest.
Vinland Saga was the last thing I really watched and it was excellent, a properly engaging story, similarly Akudama drive was great fun and while not a forever classic it was a solid show and trying to do a live action version would blow the fuarrrk out of any studio's budget.
Animation is at its best when it does things reality cannot

If you stream whatever is being fed on Netflix, yeah Anime is quite shallow and repetitive. It is different if you ask around and look for good shows, but so it is with every kind of media these days.
I prefer to look for media created outside of the US just because I get easily annoyed by the cheap attempts of shoving political correctness on shows. And it is not about the message. I have seen it been done correctly and I have no issue with it. I am just tired when it is added as an after thought and feels alien to the underlying story just as a mean of ensuring nobody is going to freak out on twitter about lack of [insert minority group] characters on the show.

a lot of animes are database consumables made by and for database addicts, the so called otakus.
these animes are made within the boundaries of the "anime database's catalog" from wich "assets"are picked and reassembled.
see it as making a level in mario maker.
the consequences of such creative process are shows that are codified, look the same, have no originality and
could have been made by a robot really.

I think you're asking the right questions OP, but I've thought about this too and I think we actually need to refine the question somewhat to understand what's going on.
There's more to it than over- and under- socializing, because there's also different ways that we socialize which all have pros and cons. Most of them are missing one or more things we get from an in-person interaction where in addition to the content of the conversation you're getting tone, body language, microexpressions, smells, touch, etc. I'm not saying this is the one true form of socialization, but I suspect our brains and bodies expect a certain amount of this rich information about the people we communicate with and it probably has a positive effect on mental health.
In contrast I personally think there's a clear worst style of socializing online, and it's probably the most popular. It's the kind that focuses on off-the-cuff ignorant opinions, snarky or ragebaity wording, and consensus forming/virtue signaling/peer pressure. All of that stuff is actually fine and normal in small amounts with people you know personally, but it's not healthy for the average person to feel the pressure to conform to random opinions and social mores that they see online from all parts of the world, or from incestuous little tight-knit hypervocal groups of people. Not to mention bots!
Another problem with this particular kind of oversocialization is that it makes it too easy for parasites to blend in. If most of what everyone says to each other is just "X good, Y bad," then all a bad actor has to do is repeat slogans to gain admission. Social environments that are mostly just big shouty echo chambers don't have enough ways of checking whether someone "walks the walk."
That said, I agree with the posters who would rather have the internet than not. It's only a distraction machine The Man can use to keep you down if you use it like a tard. If you're a little more clever than the average birdsite addict your internet experience can come a lot closer to the idealized vision of an information superhighway that was popularized decades ago.

100% agree with this here. Every forum, every imageboard, every subreddit, it's all a psyop intended to torment and alienate people. Just seems to be how it is by design. Of course there is useful information, lots of it, but I've started to think of the internet as being some kind of demonic abyss in which you can find knowledge that may or may not be true, but that you otherwise would not have come across. If you stay in too long though it turns you mad. Sometimes I'll see something online, get real worked up, an have to remind myself that it has no real weight to it, it's nonsense like most of everything anyone ever tells you, especially online.
If there's a connection to anything, it's to the malice and self-destructive tendencies in the hearts of others, giving you insight to those most horrible things their waking mind tries to keep concealed.

going off of this, most of the "opinions" and "feelings" we see online, even if they are from real people, are things that are attached to their online persona. They spend too much time online and their online self starts to get a mind of its own, it's happened to me and I'm sure it's happened to many of you. The more time they spend online the less of the real person gets shown there.

I feel the opposite. I've lived here most of my life. My online persona is more real, because that's where I exist as a person, and the person with my name and a face is a flimsy illusion where I'm just pretending to be a real person. I spend too much time around people I am connected with IRL and it feels like the lie starts to take on its own characteristics, like who these people imagine me to be through their own perspective, without knowing anything.

Of course if your real existence is trapped within some kind of self-imposed prison, your online persona will feel more real. I hope I am not assuming too much here, but it sounds more that your online persona is just an escape from that. I feel it is just another prison though. No different than a animal being forced inside of a cave to escape it's predator, but when you stay in the cave too long you start seeing things on the walls. I know I do. The periods of time where I spent the most time on the internet using various forums, chatting, etc. it felt like my memory started to get real hazy, and I couldn't reconcile the things I said through that identity with how I really felt once I was away from that screen for awhile. Felt like another person saying it. If you can isolate yourself somehow, spend some time with yourself, I think you might find there's something a little more real out there. At least it's how I feel

Its a trumanshow type virtual reality controlled by bots and algorithms that manipulate humans into becoming bots themselfs.

All you have to consider is what would happen if internet goes out? Especially rona steered many into pure online living. I got friends i could call and go out before instantly who i cant get outdoors anymore but i can always find them online sitting on disc&co ready to game. I was in opposition of it but nowadays i see it like my parents. People are self-comatosing themself burning their limited time away gaming with mindless virtual hamster wheels simulating progress in absence of real progress. Same time because so many clocked out of real live the remaining ones reign free of competition.
Maybe we have some ancient wizard who remembers in better detail the show im thinking of - when i was very little i saw once an episode on TV of a mech warrior show where the people lived in bunkers remote controlling mechs to fight a conflict nobody remembered the cause of while being deadly afraid of other people which kept them isolated as they lived too long the vault live. Im always reminded of that show with the way things develop.
