I have gone through my life and it seems that while there are some people born in 1994 most the people I run into are 1 year older or younger. All the years except 1994 are represented and further makes it hard to relate to any one generation. I am not a Z**mer but then again I was not part of the digital gold rush that older rm*len*als took part in. It makes it harder to create a coherent identity when you are too old to be young and too young to be old.

don't underestimate the power of self sorting. Its weird but it certainly seems to have interesting effects. I know people who practically only interact with people born +/- two weeks of them, and only realized this after it already was the case.
I know a few people from 94. Relatively fewer from 95, a couple from 93. Are you saying you're a 94 er ? I'll add you to my list.

one thing ive learned over the years is that you should not build your identity around generational thinking. build your own identity around things you like, around your own hopes and dreams. every person ive met that has been generationally minded has been a dull individual, difficult to talk to and resonate with, and they get stuck in their ways unable to grow beyond what was around then at a particular time. remember, there were thousands of generations before us, and you can learn from them instead of making the same mistakes a generation around you is making.

i was on the internet in early 2000s, it was still good then, still evolving and changing, and there was still a rich history of stuff accessible from before we were connected. really it wasnt until late 2000s with the rise of mobile that things started to solidify into the current boring internet, and even then the effects werent too bad until early 2010s when it became mobile first, everyone connected all the time.

Don't mean to make my age my identity, just more a comment on feeling a bit of an oddball. I am an adult in the sense I work, own my own house, invest, and plan to have a startup one day, but on the other hand I feel like a 19 year old autist. It is weird. I also have a significant other as well.
If I do have an identity it is making my own electronics and travel and well as working on financial independence.

That oddball feeling is common. a lot of us form an inaccurately sterile idea about how adults think and act when we're young. Then we grow up and realize that we don't live up to this idea of adulthood we have in our heads.

i know the same feel, I think its half of what >>58406, half just a difficultly to resonant with the average person doing average things. and I don't mean average in a bad way or anything, there is nothing wrong with average or "normal", its just not for people like us.
>plan to have a startup one day
cool stuff anon, ive thought about doing a startup one day, just always difficult to jump into something like this without having a financial safety net to fall back on if it fails (many startups do of course). what would your startup look like, what kind of market are you interested in?
>If I do have an identity it is making my own electronics and travel and well as working on financial independence.
what kind of electronics are you interested in making? i have a collection of some electronics, really makes you wish it was easier to find gadgets and things like it was back in the day. ive heard theres a lot of interesting electronics on alibaba, but just have never gotten to looking around to them

I have an idea for a cybersecurity app for normal people just need to finish up another project in order to get my finances straight in order to market it. Also need to figure out a licensing scheme. I did find some stuff on rsa signing that looks promising.
As for electronics I have been intrested in y2k aethetics ( need to finish setting up my 3d printer for that), wearables , and creating custom scraper bots out of raspberry pis. I am also taking classes 1 or 2 at a time to get a cs degree. I also have been working on two places I own to Airbnb but one flooded and insurance is being a pain in the ass. At least there is the other one. I also want to get back into trading and look at other markets for airbnb.
