how can I be more manipulative? I have the ability to analyze people and I can go on it. However, it is not enough. You can also suggest things in the style of source or other kind of movie/book.

>>57044 This >>57047 . Having to resort to manipulation just tells that you're too weak to get what you want directly as-is, so you have to resort to underhanded techniques. git gud with life

Here is a demonstration and explanation of a well-tested manipulation technique: https://youtube.com/watch?v=sKEJEFcV4Hw In general, manipulation is less effective than kindness and will alienate you from more people.

>>57049 There are other ways to go about it. Try Rosenberg's Nonviolent Communication, for starters. It's all about empathic connection, compassion and conflict resolution without egoism or power plays that are fueled by selfishness and other survival-mode biases obstructing us from forming genuine and honest connections.
Elliot Alderson · 2022-03-11 18:25
Lol, you asking for advice on this suggests you're egotistical and simply too stupid for manipulating others. Drop your pretension and accept that you're just a regular person. And stop thinking you can get what you want by manipulating others.
Spooky · 2022-03-11 19:42
Instead of a manipulative bitch, it is better to be honest. You will be hated by others once they find out that you are manipulative liar. Study trivium/rhetoric and the works of Aristotle. A book that I can highly recommend is The Trivium: The Liberal Arts of Logic, Grammar, and Rhetoric written by Sister Miriam Joseph.

>>57054 Manipulating doesn't mean only 'lying' but rather 'controlling'. Lying may become a part of it but as long as people don't discover it because you have them under control, it's all gud. Also ends justify the means and all. If you have an end to justify the means, manipulating is entirely moralistic.

>>57054 True. The most systematically manipulative person I have ever known in my life, at one time successful at it too, is now divorced and friendless at age 35(?) after burning every bridge and draining every relationship like a vampire.

Study psychology, study people then learn how to act and dress to give impressions, how to talk interact. Finally you must learn how to become other people, get into their heads and develop an instinctive ability to understand them better than they understand themselfs and scheme out plots to manipulate them. Personally i dont think its worth it, usually you get much better being genuine and honest with the right people, meanwhile putting up a facade is a huge effort. Also remember to truly make a lie believable you need to make it believe yourself, some people will spot you eventually, so keep in mind you will need to retire one day.
Random · 2022-03-12 03:59
>>57054 Nope. Been extremely honest my entire life and all too concerned with the fate of other people, creating the ideal, the bigger picture, and so on. Got nothing for it, don't have what it takes to turn into anything to get what I want. People won't do what's in their own best interest on their own, so I'd prefer to hijack their will or simply take it out of the equation.

While I don't think OP is asking in mind to utilize these skills in a positive context, it's good to keep in mind that we globally live in a kleptocracy filled with unjust situations and delusions. So, society that lies to you in a regular basis at times deserves to be met with deceit back to preserve individual safety and integrity. Dealing with the police is one common scenario in which any person can benefit by being manipulative without any true societal harm, so thus I would argue that's a win for society to best an unjust situation. Regular people are increasingly becoming radicalized to feel violent towards various groups of individuals so lying about one's ethnicity/political views/life events could likely be a common occurrence depending on where you live. I don't have resources, but you may just want to study up on conversational technique methods, logic, social engineering, cybernetics, psychology of personality leaders such as cult icons, etc.

>>57076 it sounds like you are having a moment of weakness lain. it is hard to care for others, but we really ought to. otherwise you lose your empathy, and you can't attract the right people, and what then? in any case, if you're set on becoming a twisted fuarrrking cycle path or whatever, you will find it's a strange beast. it requires what the kids call "emotional intelligence." the best advice i can give you is to take time to actually sit and talk to people one-on-one. ask them questions (people love to talk about themselves), get into their head. then think about what others want from you, from their environment, from themselves. how can you use that to your advantage? as you talk to people and get to know them, you'll have to do less work to understand people in the future as you pick up on patterns in desires and behaviors. learn to use the social network to your advantage. reading up on cybernetics will also do you some good. but actually don't listen to any of this and go be respectable, you will get more out of life in time, by manipulating you screw yourself over long-term, i promise i swear. everyone's connected, you don't get to step outside of it, as much as you may want to. keep your head up lain

>>57084 This guy knows some soykaf Tldr for OP's purpose, ignoring the be empath soykaf, actually interact with people and learn how they behave, all while concealing the fact that you're manipulative. Also, think very clearly and make the reason as to why you want to be manipulative known to yourself. Start believing in the reason and manipulativeness will start to appear much more natural when you apply your theories. Also from an objectivist standpoint, a model for human psychology can be found in the 48 Laws of Power. The Prince by Machiavelli may also help.
John Rain · 2022-03-12 19:17
>>57095 Also remember that preservation of your own individual interest is a genuinely good reason for being manipulative. All "influencers" are manipulative. All billionares are manipulative. Even people in your family are manipulative, they just don't profess it.

>>57044 Just flatter them but not excessively so. Offer to help them with things that you know they'll refuse just so that they get the impression that you're kind and helpful, which makes you favorable in their eyes. Some cultures like the Persian culture are literally built on these kind of social principles. Delving into the more malicious techniques though are more trouble than they're worth like what other posters mention.

being manipulative (in a good way, e.g, the CEO guy) is something that you learn during early childhood (which is mostly learned by elites naturally). the good way of manipulation is being able to control outcomes and ensure that the chain of command remains stable (manipulation for the sake of higher organization or entity, not manipulation for manipulation's sake which is creepy). what you can do instead is be charismatic, which is something that you can easily learn, being positive or realist and being wise about situations, instead of direct manipulation you can suggest the better outcomes or lay the groundwork indirectly or behind the scenes.

Recognise those who are inclined to be manipulated, and understand why you desire to manipulate them. It could be as simple as manipulating people into sharing your ideas or content, or sowing discord among people who are doing bad things. Consider left hand path occultism, starting with White Star Acception.

>>58863 Those "losers" literally architected and run the entire world. You're deluding yourself. Yes, everyone would like to be the guy who just walks into a room and everyone naturally submits to his commanding presence, but such a thing doesn't always scale, nor is it useful for infiltration and subversion. You literally live ina world of lies and illusions and you say the people on top are "losers". How absurd.
Dox · 2022-05-11 21:45
First off you're probably vastly overestimating your ability to analyze people. Secondly, being manipulative is morally reprehensible and sociopathic. Do it intentionally and you will never form genuine human connections in your life. You will think you can separate engineered relations from organic ones, but you won't. Because you're not perfect yourself. You will find yourself in a world of ambiguity and paranoia regarding relationships.
Spike Spiegel · 2022-05-11 21:52
