I'm just starting out learning arabic script when I came across this flag of some sort.
I can't quite understand why texts like these (sample1) (supposedly religious I guess?) look quite different from what we see on signboards(sample2)?
I can read what's in sample2 but not sample1.
Someone throw a light

They're just written in different fonts. You've heard of a font before, right? Are you this fuarrrking dense? It's just arabic in a 'fancy' font because it's a religious text. It looks that different because it's like the difference between comic sans and IDK TOMBSTONE font. Stop being retarded. Suck it up like a man and learn how to read the multiple fonts.

Its effectively just in some sort of cursive my man, you just need practice.
There's a thread on /r which would fit your inquiry, >>>/r/10119

This, that doesn't look like arabic to me OP, also there is something called fonts or writing styles e.g. nassakh, roqaa, etc.
I would definitely recommend getting a tutor as it can be quite hard if you are just starting.

its also a formal form of farsi IIRC that is more artistic than normal writing, often used for religious writings.
