Schizoid PD Support Thread
Dujour · 2022-01-03 01:05
This is a support thread for people who have Schizoid Personality Disorder. As this is a topic frequently discussed on this board, I would like to make a thread regarding it.
My condition is so severe that, since late adolescence, I've started acting very Aspergic (I was normal as a child), and I've been liable to have rare Manic and Psychotic episodes under severe stress because of how often I fantasize (I basically experience life through a fetish persona), and PTSD. I have no social skills anymore, and since the pandemic, I've basically been living as a neet, with like no friends at all (Online or IRL), and also having recently started receiving tard-bucks from my Western First World Government to continue living this lifestyle, there doesn't seem to be a normal way out. I have no motivation to undertake any task, with me having many solitary interests, but having no drive to pursue them, owning materials to undertake the skill (drawing tools, music production equipment, cracked programming suites), but having no motivation to actually accomplish anything. This lack of drive makes me very uncomfortable, and I wish for some way to motivate myself, save going to a therapist as I lack the income currently to do something like that. Learning these kinds of skills would empower me within this world, and would allow me to make more money than the pittance that I get from my government, but I just can't do it. It's not like I'm "wasting time," I don't play any video games, or watch any Internet videos, or movies, or TV, or anything like that, I just kind of sit, pace, and lay in bed, while diffusing my attention over many menial tasks... Even with something like low-dose Risperidone (for negative symptoms like avolition), I just can't find motivation, choosing to jerk off and waste time instead of opening a book which has the possibility to greatly benefit my life.
Some of you people are older than I, and many if not most of you are some kind of loner, so I'm curious as to how you've fared in life, and stories of how you "grew up". I'm quite young (18 now), so don't make fun of me either. Your advice would really help me in going through my life and finding some success, as I know many lainons have had experiences like mine.
[Before you call me Schizo, "The depersonalization experienced by individuals with schizoid PD, resulting from lack of contact with and emotional engagement with others, may engender preoccupations with fantasy and, for some, brief psychotic or manic episodes (Beck and Freeman 1990)" https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2992453/ ]

So you are different than others and some professionals label a cluster of people that resemble you (to some degree) with a fancy name. But in the end, growing up is about accepting who you are with your limitations and live day after day, trying to best only your older self of yesterday.

If you have psychotic periods or second personality, you are skizotypal. Schizoids are perfectly normal people who just don't know how to act socially and have no will or need to do so, unlike normal people who crave it.
Your path in life is unfortunately too common. It's esy to just engage in escapist in you 20 but you will continue to do so once you are in your 30 and 40 and it will only become worse.
What you need is not a guy paid to give you his opinion but to experience hardship and victories.
See life like a videogame. Imagine one without difficulties, or obstacles, no hostiles, no bosses. You would loose your will to play, right?
In life it's the same. Build a birdhouse. It's not that challenging but it's a start. You will have done a thing and your brain will react to the fact that you achieved something. Do various tasks just for the purpose of having your brain to know you can and will get things you want done, done.
And human interaction is a skill. You can work on it. Join a charity, or the local chess club or whatever. The goal here is to be with people.
You can do it, and if your brain was used to see you planning things and acheving them, you would know you will do it, but not by waiting.
Do a thing and then do another one.

Schizophrenia is not a real disease. Autism and aspergers are not real. They are just diagnoses for noticing things that they don't want you to know, don't want you to think about. Who'd ever heard of a schizo before Phd. Ronald Schizmann created the term in his fictitious book, 'Common Mental Ailments and Disorders" (1864), written in a time where 'medicine' consisted soley of 'folk remedies' like pouring scalding water over your pus-leaking, yellow-spotted feet.

Driving by after a brief hiatus and I must say, impressive.
Stand up to the definers, no more wretched words for inane things!

After briefly reading through "Schizoid Personality Disorder" on Wikipedia, I too could be 'diagnosed' as one.
Be weary. As soon as you accept someone else's word and/or definition, they DEFINE aspects of your reality.
If you need another definition to break away from the 'mental illness' charade, you, to me, are just another one caught in the singularity.

Take your meds. Some people are crazy and hearing voices is one of the mental illnesses.
Autism and autistic psychopathology are real, but only account for 1% of the people being diagnosed that.

There is schools of thought in psychology and most of the things they held true 50 years ago is now considered false. This prove psychology is an opinion, not a science. Now, since it's an opinion and everyone have one, they need words to have fixed definitions in order to communicate. That's the goal of the DNS and that's why if you fit the description of something in the DNS, then you have it, because it's the definition of the meaning of the word.

Are you formally diagnosed or self-diagnosing? If the latter, seek a session or two with a professional before worrying about it. Schizoid personality disorder traits can have an overlap with symptoms of other more common and treatable mental issues (such as depression) or physical conditions (such as those resulting in lethargy).

>After briefly reading through "Schizoid Personality Disorder" on Wikipedia, I too could be 'diagnosed' as one.
Believing you can diagnose yourself after skimming a Wikipedia article is not reason to believe schizoid personality disorder isn't real, but rather a reason to believe you are incredibly overconfident in your abilities despite having near minimal information on the subject.

And yes, with the diagnosis comes the trojan horse of subjugation
>>55076
I was a bit facetious about my brief skim - I'm a bit more intimate about the subject than I care to be.
This is a commentary toward Mental Illness as an institution, not necessarily toward anyone who fell for it.
I once fell for it.
You don't need to play in a sandbox with kids (read: psychologists that act tough) to see it's a game and there's no higher purpose in it, do you?
When are you qualified? When you memorize enough group-speak group-think? When you build five sand castles?
Mental illness is just another Reality Game people love to play because it is a scapegoat.
Just because 0.5% of the population genuinely has a chemical disorder (which, again, is due to inconsequential free will) does not mean mental illness is real.
Also, who are we to say that it's a disorder?
For as many as people are quick to define 'mentally ill'.... what exactly is NORMAL MENTALITY? NORMAL is code-word for OBEDIENT
The same psychologists you trust lauded the creation of the LOBOTOMY at its debut.
Do be certain that I've reconsidered many times on the reality of mental illness.
In the end, I realized all 'mentally ill' were just lying to themselves or neglecting the facts, myself included.
It's just a convenient scapegoat. Victim mentality.
Confidence is a prerequisite toward not falling into other peoples' traps.
In the event I am wrong about mental illness, I wish you well on your recovery
(which is ever elusive, there's rarely an out, you're DEFINED for LIFE!)
In the event I am not... I hope you and anyone else reading this realizes it sooner.
I hope the Mental Illness cult does not trap more lainons.
It'll only be more bills, more pills, more sleepless nights where you let yourself be powerless. That's no good.
There are more cults than the Mental Illness, but it's a lethal one. Mentality is everything in this world.
Those looking for profit don't want people with strong mentalities. They want docile, obedient, pilled-up slaves.

Way to intentionally misinterpret someone's argument.
This is the second schizoidthread I've seen recently, this one seems a bit better thought out, whereas the first one was "omg these traits fit me so well" and they were mostly just things common to introverts.
Anyway I suspect that the majority of these traits are rather a product of modern lifestyles and this pidgeonholing of people's psychological response to urban stress and screen alienation is merely addressing the symptom and not the actual issue. Not just that, but bailing out the corporative mindsets that cause these ailments by way of "specialized" mumbo jumbo and use of medications. Clearly, if the identification of a psychological condition is but a tautology (the condition is defined on the behavior of the individual), everyone can be diagnosed or at least medically treated to be kept on the treadmill chasing the carrot.
This thread reeks of propaganda to make people identify with yet another invented "condition".

Many schizoids share this lack of drive, even with other symptoms like brainfog, restlessness, stiffness. But also those things are physical and mainly with physis such things are to be treated (since doctors are mostly clueless and can't help you): https://endchan.net/neetlyfe/res/5087.html

https://endchan.net/pdfs/res/326.html
Now, when you have been sure that none of those things is the real issue, or just being attending them in their due time, know that you cannot change that much what lies in the depth of our mind, unless certain actions are taken at the outside world. Since unconscious is like a room closed from inside, it cannot be engaged with normal methods: http://www.holotropic.com/holotropic-breathwork/about-holotropic-breathwork/
I started like you, and I am close to "wizardry" now. But you still have time to undo in yourself what I beared for long ago.

>This prove psychology is an opinion, not a science
I disagree. Sure, some ways of thinking and theories are obsolete and are incompatible with present times. Some things in psychology simply have been redefined.
Here's a situation in common science topics: the atomic model has been redefined more than twice in history, yet, we still call atomic theory a science.
There are some things in quantum theory that we can't test and make a proof of concept of because of the nature of the topic. Psychology is the same. Can't tap into the brain directly as much as we wish to.
But, while I disagree, I can't help but share the same feeling. I don't know much about psychology to be able to tell from subjective claims or objectives ones. I can only imagine how hard it must be to separate your own biases from your studies in psychology.

I am not sure I am schizoid, but I have a very low social drive and many of the symptoms regardless. As for the lack of motivation, that has been one of the largest struggles of my life, but I have found some help with some controlled drug use. Everyone's brain chemistry is different, but a (very small) amount of weed once a week helps greatly with motivation and depression, while the occasional acid trip calms my anxiety. I have also found success with cutting out everything that I enjoy in the moment, but provides no long term benefits/ makes me stressed out - video games, doomscrolling, watching random soykaf on youtube. When you do not have these high dopamine activities, you will be much more inclined to work on more productive things, and have a higher happiness baseline.
As for talking to people, I have yet to find anything that helps with this. I am a similar age as you OP and similarly it seems to get worse every year. I am trying to make a living off (legal internet activity), but doing so without having any online friends or connections feels 10x harder. Being able to share exploits and learn from talking to others is rather invaluable, and having to figure out everything yourself is significantly harder and longer. Nearly every good/ interesting memory I have on the internet would not have happened without being part of a social group.
