I have been playing around with the idea of "collective ego death" in the past couple of weeks. I might have been searching for proof for my hypothesis but I dunno, so that's why I am posting this here. The idea is pretty self explanatory. Since egoism has been on the forefront of philosophy for majority of people since what seems to me to be the first industrial revolution then the fight for individuality continues between the egoes. Individualism has been in my opinion stretched thin and sucked dry. There is little to no substance to individuality anymore. Aside superficial charm it seems to be all the same thing over and over again. Under it all there is a huge ego battle between everyone and everything (every social hierarchy that forms collective ego per say). These stressors make people "break" and go through ego death. Socioeconomic factors are the main factors for these transformations, and all the consequences of such. My main hypothesis is "where is the peak?". When is the time period where multiple ego deaths go down in a sort of cascade event. Or the idea of "collective ego death". Could such thing happen? Is there a formal formulation for this idea? Do you think that my analysis is flawed or? Do please post your comments on the topic of ego death and idea of collective ego death pic somewhat related, dadaism and absurdism is a form of destruction of ideas that have been constructred for long LONG time, with this the sarcasm and irony is people trying to dissociate with current state of affairs. Stress and stress evasion being the main factor, but the conceptual level looks like ego trying to run from itself.

In this material world, ego is an inseparable part of our psyche. IMO, there is no such thing as ego death, but the ego can collapse and resurrect as a perfected or shattered product of our Selves. Schizophrenics, for example, does not have "dead egos", just "malfunctioning" or differently organized egos, so they can't deal with certain environmental variables well. That about individuality, society's goal was always to succumb humanity. Society is a bunch of tools and protocols, a robot. Humanity is, well, fluid, human and paradoxical. Humanity can embrace the chaos of good and bad, collective and individual, etc. Society can't, because it is either natural (as bees organizes themselves into a hive) or wrong and forced (like human history). Now that there's a general consent that personal independence is hard and dangerous, boo hoo, and so on, people prefer to sacrifice individuality for good along with the POSSIBILITY of being individuals. If something emerges in any field of knowledge, it's biased and payed for. That's all you need to know. It's all social engineering from now on. We are, actually, giving strength to the collective ego, the egocentric God, the mass of illusions humanity has created along with all sorts of ideals, almost materialized as a society. We are becoming an unnatural hive. The collective unconscious, at the other hand, is almost untouched because culture cannot reach realms beyond surface anymore. It's actually forbidden to unleash certain contents. "There" we can know something about life and truth and all sorts of things that matters. From the collective unconscious, we can only reproduce some of what's emerging from the dark edges above, very close to the surface, and with subtlety. The greater ego is not dying, but hardening itself. Be aware of this.
