unpopular opinion thread

i dont know jack soykaf abt the world. im a neet. but here we go... - blackface/racist slurs/identifying as a diff race is not racist - women are happiest when theyre submissive to men - anger is ultimately a performance - if you hold animosity toward a type of person, you have underlying sexual or guilty feelings about them or related to yourself - sociopathy indicates success on a material, sexual, and evolutionary level. it is pathologized bc it serves sociopaths that have monies (jews) - there are multiple dimensions of reality and can be manipulated(USER WAS WARNED FOR THIS POST, Unpopular opinion, These type of threads are terrible threads that violate Rule 4, You should always elaborate on your opinions rather than just spilling the soykaf. Because people just post soykaf opinions without any elaboration, discussion or justification for their opinions or beliefs unpopular or otherwise. Also the virtue signalling is like DAE threads )

>>52233 >blackface/racist slurs not racist I guess I can see why in some situations sure, but mostly it's usually used in a derogatory way. >women are happiest when submissive generalization, there are always outliers, and nowadays with the media's agenda, they are becoming less likely to want to be submissive >anger is a performance not sure what you mean, but ok >sociopathy indicates success lol no. usually if you're sociopathic, you're not treated well and can't function in a society, therefore you can't have success in that society. How is sociopathy pathologized? normal people have instinctually not liked sociopaths. >there are multiple dimensions of reality sure, I agree >can be manipulated im pretty sure we can't Here's one of my unpopular opinions. If you know your child will get Down syndrome before they're born, you should use DNA editing technologies (CRISPR) to change that. Remove Down syndrome, dwarfism, and other genetic defects

>>52374 NTA, but here i go: 1. you are destroying your own life, but it was given by someone else, your parents. Your parents have hopes, dreams, they wish for you to be happy and continue the cycle of life. Killing yourself makes them lose all of that in an instant, decades of work and hopes, poof. gone. What would you say, if you worked on a project for decades, or earned money to buy a house, and your house or project just said "aight, imma finna leave this bichass world" and fvcking vaporized, all gone? 2. Your corpse has to be buried. It cannot just stay there. Someone will be paid to cart away your body, put it in a box and bury it, and someones has to pay. Your parents will most probably pay for your demise. If not, the taxpayer will carry your burial costs. 3. If you kill yourself, you miss out on a lot of potential developments. You may have become a millionaire, but you decided to off yourself, and that's it. And if all of that doesn't faze you, let me propose something to you: If you'll off yourself, do it with style, and go out with fireworks. blow yourself to smithereens in a public space, or do a tarrant, or blow up a bridge while standing on it. People should love and respect others a lot more. Being racist/homofobe is a waste of time. Caring so much about someone else's skin color or sexual deficiencies is simply stupid. The time wasted in racist forums could be better spent on yourself and doing great things to other people. Hatred should not fill your heart. The love of Jesus is the only thing that belongs in our hearts. Despite our society being so degenerate, we should not degenerate ourselves with dirty practices that shouldn't be done by people who reside in heaven. I know most Anons will try to convince me that racism is ok or that Abrahamic religions are racist.

>>52478 I wanted to write an elaborate post as an answer, but my browser decided to fvck me over. Have a tldr instead: >Dehumanizing, repulsive view. A human is not a project, it is its own being. Parents don't own you because they invested in you. You did not consent to being born You're wrong on multiple instances. First of all, dehumanising is a term that was invented by wimpy western f4gs, who have been pampered and softened by comfort and good life. Humans are disgusting, lowly trash. If you take away their comfort, their warm homes and food, they become worse than wolves. Next. Your parents planned you, created you, your mother birthed you painstakingly, they fed, clothed, housed and protected you for almost two decades, and it is indeed not their choice what you do with your life, but for all practical purposes, you owe them. And this western individualistic worldview of being a separate human is birthed from the luxury of not being forced to raise a lot of children for survival. Having one child is a luxury, having multiple is necessity. It is a form of retirement plan, and therefore a long term project. The dream of children and a happy family is a mental cope for the human brain, in order to not be permanently confronted with the cold reality of survival. But this cope has gone out of control, and results in people like you. Next. You didn't consent to being born. Exactly. Because you couldn't. So you neither consented, nor objected, so I can say it's your fault for not saying anything. But I'm not retarded, unlike some people. Being born is not a choice, it's a gift, and you're the lucky spermoid who was lucky enough to receive the gift of life. It's your choice what you want to do with your life, but, I hope, for the sake of your parents (who are, I'm sure, good people), that you have some brothers and sisters, who have some working human instincts and normal hormonal balance, so your parents won't land in a retirement home or on the streets. You're painting yourself as a humanist, but you're the most disgusting piece of trash I ever witnessed. Even the mentally ill friends I have, some of whom did have suicidal thoughts, haven't gone through with it, because they are worried for their parents and other relatives. I probably won't get through to you, but hopefully anyone who reads this will recognize you, and everyone like you, for what you are: disfunctional humans, pampered and and bathed in comfort, without any will to improve.

But I guess I am repeating the party line, yeah. >Blacks and jews, pakis and Indians, nips and kimchees, arabs and persians, kurds and turks,. You're saying the problem is they don't have enough contact? *A* problem is, yes. In all of those situations you have individuals who automatically hate each other despite the fact they've never met. But of course in many of those situations you have ancient wounds that were never even apologized for, or purely nationalistic hatred (e.g. Pakistan vs. India, there's no such thing as an "ethnic paki")

>>52580 The point of direct empirical data is a different one. The point is any stats you take will be some generalized average over a large region. It wont be relevant to your situation because individual situations are not mimicking the average. If the average is medium trouble it's not because everyone has medium issues but because some live in a soykafhole while others have zero issues and people talking soykaf about how everything is fine generally are the ones living sheltered. Secondary whatever group you hate will depend on whatever band of retards makes up your local gang. I've lived in multiple countries and i can name for each spot certain groups as a frequent cause of issues and others as never being a problem. These rankings are not identical. Your local situation is not mirrored by any statistics because nobody will pop up with a statistic regarding your city section. So people arguing about this online are simply ignorant of the simple fact that whatever is happening locally doesn't apply even across your entire city and not at all across different countries. So telling someone whatever he says ain't happening and he's wrong is pure arrogance.

Those who struggle to understand the emotions of other people (autism) generally hate trolling or can't do it properly. Animals are friends, not food. I have less respect for people that eat animal products than those who don't I don't usually respect people who pay for animals to exploited

Warning, real unpopular opinion incoming. Lain have erased the past and all tracks and records of it. She have created false memories and by doing so, manipulated everyone into doing what she want them to do and thinking what she want them to think. She turned the entire world population into pets. What do I say, pets have their own mind. She turned the entire population into mindless walking corps, like Umbrella corporation but at least Umbrella had plans for a better future, just not for everyone. This isn't different from sending everyone in jail and forcing them to behave, except people don't even know they are in jail. This is more dystopian than brave new world. Closing the world, opening the next is the second more evil move in the entire history of fiction and only wanting to destroy the world for no reason is worse. She is the baddie of serial experiment Lain and knights tried to save the world by creating a version of her who only act on a small scale. If she wasn't a cute anime girl you would see it.

$50 OP is the same OP as the COVID thread. Time to go back to 4chan and/or Reddit r/unpopularopinion buddy. Lainchan isn't a place for political propaganda.

>>54314 It's obviously a show with a lot of room for interpretation, but my understanding was that lain was going to exist, in some form or another, as long as the Wired did (possibly before and after too) and Masami Eiri and the Knights wanted to manipulate her for their own ends. Other than removing the memory of herself she left people alone, which seems more like freeing them from her potential influence than anything.

>>54314 >Deus ex machina (/ˌdeɪəs ɛks ˈmækɪnə, - ˈmɑːk-/ DAY-əs ex-MA(H)K-in-ə,[1] Latin: [ˈdɛ.ʊs ɛks ˈmaːkʰɪnaː]; plural: dei ex machina; English "god out of the machine") is a plot device whereby a seemingly unsolvable problem in a story is suddenly and abruptly resolved by an unexpected and unlikely occurrence. Its function is generally to resolve an otherwise irresolvable plot situation The lain tv show finale it's literally the oldest plot device invented by humankind. Yeah the authors could have come with something better for the finale and yes Lain's moral compass is terrible >>54319 mmmhhhh.... all other characters lives are slight modified so that they don't remind Lain and, for the Tachibana employees, they don't come with the idea of Protocol 7. IMHO the two men are still working as hitmen maybe they were undercover as technicians to spy in someone's apartment. idk I like this explanation because otherwise it would be quite a career downgrade from hitman to technician for the electric company and it would have been quite some work for Lain to re-arrange all people's memories to lead a western-man and a chinese-man to work as blue collars colleagues in Japan

>>52499 please tell me you are posting that picture ironically, it is dangerously utilitarian to draw conclusions from the deaths as a percent of a population considering how large it is

>>54593 "Dangerous" in the context of society and politics is a word that whiny bitches tend to use when they want to pretend to be thoughtful and feel self-important. Don't be a whiny bitch. You like to say "problematic" in casual conversations too?

>>54208 Unpopular opinion rebound, "quoted here" edition. >actual humans have a better life when their food income is secure and they live in a nice and warm home Life without grinding with the reality (and wonders) of nature is just some sort of protolife. Artificiality can't keep humanity's reign forever, and considering how much we cause damage in absolute terms, a "nice and warm home" isn't going to be sustained for a long time for most of us. It's an unsustainable illusion to maintain billions of humans living worthy, satisfying lives within the same 3D monkey approach. We should just forget this comfort search psyops and just accept what life is in this world with proper gratitude, understanding that the intellect that's present in the architecture of nature knows infinitely better than us. >I wouldn't call medieval peasants more intelligent and they worked a lot less than us I'm not advocating for medieval times here, although it seemed like a better time than now. I don't believe they worked - in a proper sense - less than men do today. A few hours of excruciating manual labor beats hours of useless, braindead average jobs. And merely being able to have access to fast information and repeating data isn't a big intelligence display at all, considering what we've been doing in history. You need intelligence and endurance to hunt, fish, make manure, handcraft, etc., but in a different way than our effort-produced mental strain just to live for a week. Stupidity is also different than being ignorant towards specific and undiscovered info. I actually believe people tend to be happier working very hard for short periods of time, according to the necessity. Way healthier than the morality of vain productivity we live by now. >it went back to normal after that. Life was even better for the ones who didn't died. Actually back to normal, would be a gift from nature to happen that way now, but fat, old, useless and cultural-induced retardation victims are too valuable to the power structures, lol. If they vanished, it would be hard for them to maintain control. >everyday I pray for a nuclear winter. Amen to that. I pray for reverse rapture. God takes all the normal people to another planet, leaving only the 60 cool sensible people on earth to inherit everything and live in peace. >everyone want the same thing but disagree on the means to get it "Everyone" are kind of alienated regarding these institutes, so, a bunch of people wanting something means soykaf in directly practical terms. Besides perpetuating idiotic ideological friction, of course. >we will just go deeper, but it will not happen because politicians are fine with 0,1% of the population being free. Sure hope so, friend. >you can't sell your soul without willingly posing your mark on a contract, lust like you can't sell your shoes by mistake But you can sign that without reading it because you're stupid and some smug bastard induced you to, lol. >rituals, common culture and sharing moments hold people together. A country that does not promote a single culture is a divided country. There is a price to pay to be one. Just gonna be simplistic and say that soykaf got too unnecessarily complex because too much people. Also, I'm talking about the one global western culture abomination we're living now. That's the chimera. I'm not against a country preserving it's culture, problem is, a country wanting to be greater than it could be came with a price too, now we suffer the consequences. Embrace globohomo for money, actually get into a crisis and lose all sense of dignity. >Take your meds Glow harder, asshole. Just kidding. I don't need any meds, I'm just built differently. >Art still exist, look at the picture on the box of your graphic card. What is sold as art is just a scheme to fraud tax and is ugly on purpose. They want the public space to be devoid of beauty, culture or anything that will make people proud or feel they are part of something because that would make people oppose global trade and it's bad for business. Art and big business never belong together, otherwise is just cheap pop culture. But yeah, not going to be radical on this, there are still some good stuff being produced, you just gotta dig hard and avoid clumps of advertisement.

>>54462 not him but most people are just repeating what they got told especially when they are unable to understand and reason about the subject. As such they don't hold any opinion of their own, they merely amplify opinions of the people who program them. Letting them speak is just a disservice to discussion. tldr: npc meme is real.

When you ask people why they miss the old internet, they'll give you some great reasons, but there's one thing you'll never see them mention. It's that the internet was more "segregated" during the old days. Which is to say that everyone kept to their own communities and wouldn't try to influence any other (outside of small-scale raids by places like /b/ or SA). This meant that all the lunatics kept to their own corners of the internet. The only interaction they had with the rest of the internet was one-sided, with others going there solely to take screencaps and laugh at them. There was no social media to give them a vector to spread their bullshit.
