Read, understood, discarded.
There are objective differences between generations born in war times, in post war periods, in times of economic decline, and in times of economic growth or peak economy. Simple matter of being shaped differently. The same reason why Nouveau rich are dumb cunts that take unnecessary risks and are generally unnecessarily disrespectful. They didn't work, they didn't bleed. Same with the current generation. I can see it myself, I'm related to someone who only watches those idiotic shows everyday, and is intellectually and physically deficient as a result.

Zoom*r here, I think that depends on intelligence and willpower.
Clever parents limit the time their children spend in front of [a device]. Clever children will realize [a device] isn't good for them just like I realized computers and the internet harm people more than they help them.
I had enough willpower to quit visiting certain places and now I'm healthier.
On the other hand people of weak willpower fall into addictions like drugs or internet/smartphone/whatever addiction.

Yes. Hypercommunication and information technology were always a boobytrap for mankind. A pitfall. The utopians of the 60s and onward who envisioned it as the ultimate freedom of the mind were wrong. The mind is defined by its limitations and how it deals with them, not its excess or infinitude. The latter destroys the mind.

If you don't see that this is a modern phenomenon created by technology then I don't know why you haven't been paying attention. A workspace being filled with noise and conversation used to be commonplace, acceptable, and people were able to cope with it instead of having anxieties and misophonias.
Look at photos of offices from the mid-twentieth century. Other workplaces. Factories. Schools.
You might think it's a good thing that this happened because you happen to like it, but another way of looking at it: these developments have robbed you of your ability to tolerate normal social conditions.

The notion of university study halls and libraries as places you keep noise down is centuries old.
Some moronic startup at one point decided to cut costs on individual offices and others followed suit.
The notion of working in a public space, especially in a collaborative manner, definitely differs from work in which individual effort and focus is required. You'll notice a lot of those old pictures related to newspaper editing rooms and various collaborative work.

Are you sure it's not just better diagnosis? Of course overpopulation helps with that but I doubt people really like noisy working conditions.
Of course autism and introversion become visible more often if you force people to socialize beyond healthy limits.
Everything is noisy these days, especially in the city. People need a balanced portion of silence and noise. Libraries were a thing before computerization because focused work requires silence.

I'm not going to go into full details but dumb psychiatrists invented the term "autism" as a form of oppression to dehumanize people not conforming to social norms of neurotypical NPCs.
Before psychiatry, there were "weirdos" and "eccentrics", but modern psychiatry invented a term to describe the language and behavior of autistic people as something bad rather than just different.
Blaming everything on technology sounds like a convenient excuse.

That certainly is true, I have no love for psychology. But it doesn't change things. These disorders are increasing because of environmental factors. We adapt to our environs, it's not controversial. But whether we think it's a good or a bad change, we should face the fact that we are changing ourselves and sacrificing what we used to be. I think it would be wise for us to make sure we don't twist ourselves into forms far worse than what we had before. If we plunge into it blindly, that is almost surely going to be the result.
Technology did do this. What else did it? Why did this happen now? Once again, we are animals which adapt to our environment, regardless of what kind of environment it is. What is your environment today? What kind of surroundings did you spend this day amongst?

>Technology did do this. What else did it? Why did this happen now?
Depends on what do you mean by technology. The thread is about iPad kids.
Are overcrowded cities and noisy machines technology? If so I can agree but the change isn't caused by computers alone.
As for autism diagnosis, people imagine autists as noisy children who barely talk, move, understand nothing and soykaf their pants.
Currently we know that autism can be mild and that autists can be highly-functioning members of the society who only appear "weird" in certain situations.
If diagnosis was focused on the first type of autists, then of course there were little, but if you suddenly include highly-functioning autists like some scientists for example, then you suddenly discover autism is more common.
Isn't that the case?
I'm just not sure autism is a good indicator of the effects of technology, I would rather take a look at hikikomoris, anxiety, stress and suicide rates.
Yamaoto Toshi · 2021-08-21 00:07

im not sure why your specifying ipad or reducing a generation to ipad kids. But you arent wrong on premise its just more than likely its more subtle. Some toddlers lets say will react stronger to having ipad or etc. taken away, leading parent to give it to them more often or be more wary of cutting their time short. Of all their own fault, but a fault almost anyone could make in a moment of "I really just dont want to deal with a tantrum right now.". The Ipad is actually a symptom not the cause, and the assumption they will move to harder drugs isnt true but its not unfounded. The reason people move to harder drugs is because the things they are already doing lead to connections with people who have access to harder drugs, or the things they currently do they realize arent as bad as they thought, so they try out something else their usual dealer for say weed has in stock, and then its either a fit or not a fit for their specific pleasure seeking brain. However if I was a heroin addict in isolation, like I just have heroin magically, im not gonna start looking for meth and seeking out other soykaf. My brains wired to know the activity of shooting heroin will make me feel okay again, its not like every kind of pleasure seeking activity magically becomes the next step because i did one. My point is raised on ipad babies will very rarely have any reason or opening to try hard drugs, their brain only knows ipad device in this case is fun and brings them pleasure. That doesnt translate to drugs magically just because its an addiction also.
Factor in what I said earlier too, not every child will have the predisposition to say cry extra loud when their fun or what they were engaged with is removed. So its a fraction of a fraction that will end up even coming close to what you do, and I dont think its any different than how its always been. The stimulus is more intense than say a tv show but our brains adjust to things like that. Normally thats bad, say adjusting to the stimulus of being in a war torn country and then having to live during peace time. But tech, internet, ipads, etc. are very much almost permanent affixtures to the environment. Our brains, young and old, are currently adjusting to this every day.So the iPad in the grand scheme of things, and these scenarios im laying out, are no different than they have ever been in history. The kid who seems to be especially fond of sweets and whos parents inevitably give in isnt much different from the kid with the ipad. And itl likely be the same amount of addicts in this generation as there ever have been, but the most popular drug of choice could be changed by all these factors. For example with the internet and online activity and interaction being such a ubiquitous pazt time maybe amphetamines will see a return over opiates as they lend better to enhance that experience of ranting on twitter and consuming 50 different internet articles. But I dont think this coming generation is at any greater risk of addiction, if anything they will have to learn to deal with it on a micro scale much sooner than any of us ever did and thus later in life be more equipped to have balanced relationships with substances.

American culture is a death cult. Horribly unhealthy diets that lead to reduced lifespan and reduced fertility. Sure. It slowed down technological growth creating stagnation - see Japan. Created evergrowing gap between rich and poor, highly eroded middle class. Made savings lose it's value on tremendous speed and made housing less and less affordable for every new generation. It's unsustainable road to failure and tensions in society last seen near communist revolution.

It's not different. It's the same and we are very close to the end of that system. We are already at zero interest rates with zero possibility of rising interest rates without popping the bubble. Are you implying Japan before WW2 was some technological marvel? Majority of the growth you saw was after WW2, so much so that US was worried that Japan will somehow overtake it, which is the reason cyberpunk has neon Japanese signs everywhere. Even all the famous Japanese companies from Japan came from that time like Sony or Honda.
>Created evergrowing gap between rich and poor
That started happening in the 80s, which had nothing to do with Keynesian policies. Unless you want to say Alan Greenspan, a close friend of Ayn Rand, and who during his youth went into a unusual political direction for that time, was Keynesian.
>Made savings lose it's value on tremendous speed and made housing less and less affordable for every new generation
pretty much what I said before. For that you can blame the loosening of restrictions on what could be traded, which led to people trying to exploit the system by focusing on finance instead of real production. I don't think anyone is happy for that, but you are pointing fingers at completely wrong people.
>And it will clean economy of accumulated zombie companies that bankrupted years if not decades ago but are kept alive artificially by destruction of purchasing power of currency.
This giant crisis that is supposedly looming on us because of fiat currency was meant to happen for decades now too, and there were crises but then again if you look at history there always were crises in market economies. Literally for centuries by now. It's just how it works. If you see inflation happening right now, what is more rational to think. It's caused by money supply being expanded, which happened for decades now, or is it the fact that the whole economy is standing still for previous year or two?
>It's not different. It's the same and we are very close to the end of that system.
If it was the same we couldn't be near it's end because it couldn't transform to anything different. It kinda reminds me of how Marxists always say that this will end here, for the 5442 time just this year. And it might end, it might not, no one knows it. But the thing is what it will most likely turn to is an oligarchy of the bankers and shareholders, so I don't think it's what you want.

It's not Jewish, schizo. It's just natural in the market economy. And by that I don't mean an economy that just has markets, because these always existed, but a market centered one like today that's also profit oriented. Because under such scenario people will begin to act in hopes of profiting, and that means by definition to earn more some will "rig the game" because speculating is profitable, commercial banks are profitable, exploiting the environment is profitable, etc. They are pushed into doing it the same way a rain droplet is pushed to the ground by gravity. You could replace the people who do this with computers, angels or whatever you want because the way things are structured they are forced to act certain ways.
Also man, seriously, and I know how annoying this is to hear because I hate people who talk like I do now too, but my god. Try getting your info from an other place than /po1/ memes. You are what you eat also applies to information, I can tell you that.

No, your understanding of natural laws and the natural order is flawed. All of what you just stated are details.
At its core the logic is very simple, logic is the same at all levels of organization and each level will therefore behave like an organism. Basically, as above, so below (and the inverse). To have an ecology organize and develop in the way you're describing requires active forces which seek to tap and redirect existing forces in accordance with their nature, and the thing which has a nature that is uniquely prone to mindless and unnatural overstimulation of systems, is the Jewish mind. And the organizational structure and design of Judaism facilitates this as well. Intragroup loyalty and stability is extremely high, and when you build something which is at its core against nature (you're trying to rework the ecology to make the unnatural natural), you need a strong backbone to hang it on. This is the Jews. The other races are not really capable of it, in a creative sense.
You don't know what you're talking about and have probably never studied Jewish law, Jewish history, Jewish Religion, or the Jewish mind. You are talking out of your ass because you want to believe things are more mutual and organic than they really are. You are the same kind of fool who calls biological systems a "chemical soup".

In the 1970's during stagflation. That's why females were forced to enter working force. Rapid inflation caused by closing gold window caused value of US Dollar to start evaporating. Before 1970s only one of parents earning money was able to support family of two parents and several children. Working as a carpenter. Feat impossible decade later.
> which had nothing to do with Keynesian policies. Unless you want to say Alan Greenspan, a close friend of Ayn Rand, and who during his youth went into a unusual political direction for that time, was Keynesian.

If I would have to point the event that highlights the fall of greenspan it would be his reaction to the 1987 crash. We are still suffering consequences of his actions. Artificial liquidity introduced back then started over 3 decades of artificial pumping of every stock market bubble. The snowball effects that would released the moment FED runs out of means of pumping it further may be the most catastrophic event in the economic history of the United States.

When I hear word such as "destroyed" I know I'm dealing with Ben Shapiro fan level of people. And I don't think he destroyed anything, because I can tell you why he is even known today, like all economist are known in certain time period. It's to justify politics. And in times where he was getting his 5 minutes of fame were exactly the times where all of those thing you can hear complains about about like the rise of house prices, rise of financial markets, shutting down of local jobs, etc started growing. Because his job was to tell a tale that justified those things which caused them by giving it this (not) liberal spin to it. Which in the eroded stability both in the west, stalled the growth of nations in Latin America, Africa and Eastern Europe. Surprisingly, none of the developed nations developed under these pseudo liberal policies. All of them were strongly against competition and for protectionism, with strong regulation.
>>49317
>In the 1970's during stagflation.
The stagflation in my view wasn't entirely the reason for these changes, it was seen as a way to alter the status quo because it was a big event. The other reason was that the profit rate was declining at the time, but it will always decline till it hits zero some day and you will always have economic turmoil from time to time because of that.

They are using naked economic facts based on principles and observations developed by Austria Hungary economist Carl Menger (no Jewish ancestry known to him or his family). If you for some reason don't like Jews who follow science in a proper way without attaching any ideology to it other than pure factual and historic evidence then IMHO you have a serious problem.

Even if one would add so called "women liberation" as important factor - it still does not erase the fact that US Dollar's value tanked back then.
>You can do better than that.
There is no need to do that as what he did is literally 180 degree opposite to what Austrian School teaches as a proper solution to the problem. That solution is "they fuarrrked up, so let these fuarrrkers all go bankrupt". Which part of what Greenspan did is Austrian School according to you? Literally none.

>it still does not erase the fact that US Dollar's value tanked back then.
The thing is the economy is always ever changing and you had crisis after crisis for centuries at least now. Before any big banks existed or any big means of manipulating money did. Medieval economies didn't have these issues since they were local, and not run for profit. Planned economies didn't have these issues because they were planned and not run of profit, but complaining about economic instability in a for profit market economy is just bizzare. It's like being surprised that if you put wings on a object and move it at high speed it will levitate.
>That solution is "they fuarrrked up, so let these fuarrrkers all go bankrupt"
Yeah, because we live in the real world where our decisions are weighted by thousands of other people at least. If you let massive bankruptcy to happen you more or less can expect your head to be cut off in following months if things get bad enough. Do you want inflation that might be regulated, or do you want great depression v2.0?

Not allowing banks to go bankrupt and pumping them with currency is an economical suicide of the nations.
>Do you want inflation that might be regulated, or do you want great depression v2.0?
Nope I do not want Great Depression 2.0. That's why FED should be abolished. It was the FED that caused Great Depression. Before FED's mangling with economics recessions were very short lived events. After FED - we have at this point decades long madness of debt spiral and imposibility to have savings which makes us poor unless we know how to invest. 90 percent of society has no idea how to invest. That's why 90 percent of society is going to be wiped out of of their money that would be transfered to 1 percent of the rich. fuarrrk the FED.
Tequila · 2021-08-28 01:02
>>49330
also wtf do you mean by "inflation that might be regulated"? FED has no desire to regulate inflation. It's the inflation that keeps bubble from popping so far. But FED is running out of tools to keep it pumping. Every time they pump they are increasing the govt debt. It's unsustainable. They can't increase debt infinitely. That's the part you do not understand. Even if they enter the policy of negative nominal rates they can only go as far as 100 percent. They are probably going to be hanged on a nearest street lamp once they hit -10 percent of real interest rates.

Again, neither of you are taking globalism into account. You're also, compeltely without basis, presupposing that the FED and other central banks, care about long term sustainability or prosperity of the nations they print money for. that's not the primary organizing principle nor the goal, global dominance and extermination is the goal. So you'll build up some of them, and tear down others, as needed. They're international, they're not Americans, they don't care about you, and if your use is at an end on the global stage, they'll trash the place and dump you like a worn out old car.

Propserity leads to a lack of long term sustainability and is an obstacle to their ultiamte goal. All they actually want is total control and a planet all to themselves. The reason they allowed and facilitated all of this existing, and getting so built up, was because there were too many people and overt and direct extermination was not possible. So they helped them, guided them to want to build and maintain their own prison and gallows. They gave us enough rope to hang ourselves and the motivation to do it. That's what this place is all about.

Your definition of prosperity is not their idea of their own propserity. Your prosperity does not lead to theirs, the two are not connected, they are not one of you. Prosperity leads to a loss of control, you want to keep people crushed, distracted, and overworked so they cannot dream. Anything else compromises the long term sustability of their system which facilitates their plan.

This is part of the issue i think we are having nowadays. This is not to say there were not people in my generation of Gen Y that played video games all day or watched movies. But i do think a lot of parents did not allow much internet and cell phone usage until a certain age, and also giving smart phones until a certain age. My internet usage was limited until i was 13 and i was allowed to have a cell phone when i was 12(granted internet browsers were not as advanced back then). There was always a scare about strangers online much as there are in real life of taking advantage of children. But for a good while i think most have just not cared, and have grown so decadent that they only care about their lives, giving their children literal kid feed the instant oatmeal, the mac n cheese easy makes, and not bothering to give them much experience at museums or even just to spend time with them. They just threw the Ipad or the Android phone and told them to go search youtube or google it. This is why everything is as bad, because more and more "adults" are acting no different than children, they feel stunted and isolated. When this happens it's easy to become a copycat than it is to make original things because of the lack of a desktop computer(which they can find out how to use photoshop or video edit with ease), the lack of parenting and overall a lack of culture. I would argue if some were raised with this even slightly the internet as a whole would be beneficial for it, as it's easy to create things, but most are too lazy and are reliant on others to do things for them and just save image, spam it, copy and paste words and being a passive consumer of memetics and culture than to help be collaborator of culture.

>A workspace being filled with noise and conversation used to be commonplace, acceptable, and people were able to cope with it instead of having anxieties and misophonias.
Workplaces also didn't used to be enormous echo chambers (literal echo chambers) that reflected all that sound everywhere. Even offices used to have much more loud machinery that dulled conversation noise from far away. Nowadays, if nobody talks the office is basically silent, and as soon as someone talks everyone can hear it. Even for people with completely normal socialization that is an oppressive environment.
