Conspiracy theories

One thing that image boards are known for is the debunking and propagating of conspiracy theories. Use this thread to discuss theories and lains try to debunk them. To start the thread with recent news I have this story: For those unaware, a building collapsed in Miami Florida in the United States. While this is a tragic event, some things come across as strange. >A cryptic tweet that cannot be confirmed to have existed and may have been deleted by the late McAfee allegedly indicates he had a lot of hard drives at his condo in Miami >McAfee is confirmed to have tweeted that he had Hard Drives that would be released if he was killed >He claimed these hard drives contained evidence of corruption To add to the curiosity of the whole situation >Mexican and Israeli teams were sent overnight to assist with the emergency response and the rubble search This seems a bit curious to me The governor of florida himself said "A building does not just fall down like that" What do Lains think? Is this all just convenient hoaxery or is there evidence that something might really be going on?

>Mcafee a man who scams people out of their cryptocurrency and does pump and dump 24/7, kills neighbor, pulls one last con saying "I hid the Truth about Q ..." *dies* He died the way he lived, a fuarrrking legend

>>46733 His tweets almost make me think he was one of us, some gems from his twitter that sound exactly like the things Lains post as examples. Also the anime/cartoon profile pic.

truth be told i just assume every news story is fabricated unless i have a real reason to believe in it

>>46736 Hmmm strange that an expert who specializes in structural engineering investigations of this type is on local news 10 rn saying the only time he has seen a collapse like this was with a controlled demolition, and something is very unique, and he thinks that the fault was below the building. So by the "all news is fabricated" concept, what would be the point in implicating this as a conspiracy?

At the risk of turning this into nothing but McAfee discussion: the "Q" posted on his Instagram was intended to draw in everyone's favorite swarm of right-wing retards and associate discussion of his death with them. Also mainstream conspiracy theories (i.e. the ones you see getting waved around in the media and used as low-hanging fruit by the skeptic crowd) are used to poison the well regarding actual criticisms of corporations, governments, etc. If you suddenly see a new conspiracy theory going around, it's because someone did something wrong and the theory is meant to make the wrongdoer look better by comparison.

>>46737 the same reason for all news, its like worldbuilding in a story for the masses. Just there to add the illusion of a living world. Because the actual living elements are kept hidden.
