Occultism / Magic as the path to personal fulfilment
Naomi Nascimento · 2020-06-22 07:51
If we look at the actual psychological purpose of things like living the lifestyle of a monk in Tibet, being a Sufi in the middle east, being a Jewish practitioner of Kabbalah, the mystery cults of the ancient middle east Rome and Greece, and the European occult tradition (Knights Templar / Rosicrucianism / Gnosticism / Golden Dawn etc etc) is that all of them at the base level are attempting to allow the individual to achieve what one could at a basic level call "enlightenment" in the general sense of the word
The language and metaphors the different traditions use in general all ultimately describe this path to enlightenment and the function of the universe etc.
The reason to describe things in terms of gods and demons and parts of the body of god and the cardinal points and elements etc etc is to effectively "boil down" the concepts being portrayed to the receiver as to allow their comprehension easier (An example of this is how in the Jewish Kabbalah each sub-sect of the human body is assigned to a metaphysical concept that can be loosely metaphorically "linked" to it). This is the same as how in a Hindu or Buddhist meditation they may be instructed to visualise a specific object or being as to represent the concept they are meditating on.
The reason why western esotericism is much more...esoteric then something like Buddhist or hindu or Jainist teaching is because unlike the Vedic religions where the concept of the immortality of the soul on earth is accepted the Judeo-Christian-Islamic world views the souls time on earth as limited and you only get "One shot to get it right" so to speak (This is also somewhat believed by some schools of Buddhism such as those of the Vajrayana tradition who believe that anyone can go from a total layperson to a bodhisattva in a single lifetime with proper habits) so instead of believing you have theoretically an infinite amount of time to achieve this enlightenment you have to pour jet fuel on the process so to speak and attempt to achieve it an a single lifetime. and much like the Buddhists this is done by regimental and consistent ritual and mystical practice

I am very interested in this topic and thread. I've studied multiple branches of esoterics (Buddhism, Sufism, Chaos Magic, Hermeticism, Gnosticism, Taoism, Traditionalism, "Black" Magic, Demonolatry) and am practicing Yoga for the better part of a decade now. It definitely improved my life in many aspects, and if someone here is interested in improving their lives (which basically is 90% of this board from what I see) & want to have a deeper and richer experience in their lives, Yoga is a great starting point.
What I find most interesting about this, is that once you are aware of Magic, you can see that it's literally everywhere.

I spend lots of time reading on spirituality and occultism, though i cant say i get much out of it but its fascinating no less.
I have for a while collected books on those topics, i have 2 huge stashes of those books now ranging from reincarnation to all sorts of weirder soykaf.
Not to mention tons of pdfs including manuals on remote viewing.
For some time now i wanted to do actual magic and live more spiritual in general but somehow i cant work up energy to do anything.
Astral projection is something that has fascinated me since forever but i never managed to work up the discipline to go there.
There is so much information on these things i dont think anyone can master it in one lifetime to be honest.
Its honestly a strange feeling to know that there is this bizzare world out there.
My conviction is we all have some kind of fate or purpose in live that we need to follow and understand.

You're talking about the authentic eastern style of Yoga, which has chakras and flow of energy etc.?

Practicing the occult will only get you possessed and deceived. That's the true aim of yoga, thelema, hermetism and so on. If you want true spirituality, pray to Jesus Christ and ask Him to save you, guide you and to forgive your sins .
Here's a testimony of an ex-yogi who worked for Sadhguru.

This is partially true, there are 2 forms of occult information that you can find if you look for it, one form is taught to plebs for them to get possessed & deceived, the other form is taught to the masers to give them the skills required to posses & deceive. The only way you can defend yourself from the magic spells & rituals is if you can identify them, understand how they work & take necessary action to protect yourself from their influence.

Yes, I recently found a daily routine I'm practicing that works on the five vortexes of energy. Western Yoga has too much a pilates/swedish gymnastics workout (which is beneficial as well, but not what i'm looking for in yoga).

>to be possessed & deceived VS to possess & deceive
Do you have a concrete example of this?

"Posession" when you take into account how all Demons / Daemons and so on are often just depicted as symbolic of human desire(s) basically just means to give into base desires and give up on spirituality or at least off set it for either material gain or personal pleasure.

I think most religions at one point or another had reincarnation in their core tenets but somehow those got hidden over the years.
Like the early christians had reincarnation part of their beliefs and nowdays there is so much info about that in both occult and more scientific places.

Dont be so dense lain, yes there is darkness and a sea of lies out there, but there is real meaningful wisdom to be found.
Personally i dont subscribe to the idea of jesus being the incarnation of god, but he had a many great things to teach no doubt.
Besides you shouldnt be thinking that once something has christ in it its automatically good and the whole truth, the vatican is one of the most evil organizations there is out there.
Wont tell you what to believe or not but you should find the truth out on your own and not just believe what you are told.

I've been doing following the path of the Hermetic for about a decade now. Experienced a lot of stuff in that time, enough to convince me beyond a doubt that magic, both in the trascendental enlightenment use and the more earthly use, is real.
First off, you need a worldview that allows for at least the possibility of magic. And during the ritual, the mental discipline to, in that moment, be absolutely certain that it does in fact exist and you have succeeded in calling upon it.
This is the foundation of all. Meditation is necessary to achieve this level of mental control, but you cannot hope to be successful without a correct view of the world and the ability to artificially 100% convince yourself of a certain worldview at least for a few moments.
Meditate every day, attempt to feel the energies inside you and manipulate them to change from fatigue to wakefulness, from sorrow to happiness, find what you are and transform it. Thus, Alchemy. Then, learn to do the same with the energies outside of you. Thus, Theurgy.
Then observe what forms and influences the energy patterns around you and learn to work with these higher influences to guide you in what rituals will be necessary, and to empower them to enable you to reach beyond your current state. Thus, Astrology.
These three arts work together to allow you to reach higher states and to manipulate this physical world at will, assuming mastery of all.
Myself, I've mostly done Theurgy for now, with a somewhat large foray into alchemy recently (for those interested, Evola's Hermetic Tradition and McLean's Alchemical Mandalas are a good way to get started, with the latter having plenty of more advanced texts, or Fulcanelli's works for highly advanced reading). My procrastination on Astrology (the ancient greek version being the one I'm going with) has held me back somewhat, I think.
At any rate, it's not something for those wanting quick results. It's going to take a long time until you'll be able to do much, as you'll need to fight against the modern mindset and the analytical mind that it brings to the fore. Trust in intellect above analysis.

What type of meditation do you do? If it doesn't matter if it's artificial wouldn't drugs to induce that mindset work for that if it's difficult to do alone? Just to be sure you are aware the Greeks used whole houses if I recall correctly. Though I also need to point out Western astrology no longer aligns with actual physical bodies it is more a match to seasons. The Indian method is the form that uses siddheral positions so you need to look at both.
Neuromancer · 2020-07-08 22:57
>>28895
The type of meditation depends on what the goal is. For a standard trance for a ritual, simply ending your thoughts by letting them float by without attachment is best, while when there is some problem or mystery you wish to comprehend, it is best to concentrate with all of your mind on nothing but that and being careful to thing each and every thought to the end.
Drugs would work, but it's a bad idea to use them at the start, as being used to inducing a trance by drugs makes it harder to induce one without.
I'm using the tropical Zodiac, as it is fixed (and therefore accurate) with regards to the equinox, so our sun, and more fit for more personal questions than sidereal, which is fixed to the stars.
As for being out of alignment, it's somewhat true in that the signs are named after constellations, but it is untrue in that they were never intended to be the constellations, best seen that the signs are all 30 degrees, which doesn't apply to the actual constellations.
It's also worth mentioning that the chart is as viewed from earth - geocentric. This is inaccurate in that the universe doesn't move that way, but it is correct in that it is how it looks from earth, where we are. The argument being that how we are influenced is the point of an astrological chart, not any exploration of the universe as a whole.

I meant meditation for when you have no magical intent in the moment just building yourself up. Or do you always do a long preparation? I fall into trances from music a lot though they don't alter my thought pattern just make me empty headed. Seem to have lost the ability to easily focus on thoughts though since daydreaming got me in trouble in the past where I would be staring into empty space unaware of everything around me. Yes I am aware the signs aren't exactly equivalent to constellations. I was just saying the two systems used to be one in the same and some info may have carried on in one and not the other. There exists charts in jyotish that don't exist in tropical astrology and vice versa. The Greek method unless I am mistaken lacked the decans Kemetic astrology had.

>are attempting to allow the individual to achieve what one could at a basic level call "enlightenment"
This is describing every religion in the world. And they don't have to hide it or make it esoteric. They'll tell you all about it. For example you can read about going on a quest to reveal the secrets of your heart in a gaze of faith: http://www.vatican.va/archive/ccc_css/archive/catechism/p4s1c3a1.htm ...so esoteric!
Every religion, practiced properly, has regimental and consistent ritual and mystical practice. I wouldn't deny as much as pic related that there could be something useful in so-called occultism but it is worth asking why you're going "esoteric" instead of just kneeling to Allah or going to temple or whatever it is your family or your culture does. Like actual hipsterism, if spiritual hipsterism or contrarianism doesn't actually get you something *better* then it isn't worth the squeeze.
Cereal Killer · 2020-08-20 06:01
I've been getting back into it, since I tried some of it during my young teenage years. Right now I'm focusing on meditating and demonology. My personal opinion is people need something to worship, even if it isn't religious. It can range from corporations to family as long as they feel like they're part of something larger than themselves. I've been trying to read a book about Gnosticism, but right now everything is going over my head and it's so large I'm procrastinating by reading about Enochian magic.

>why you're going "esoteric" instead of just kneeling to Allah or going to temple or whatever it is your family or your culture does.
Well there are multiple reasons, cant speak for all obviously, but here are mine.
For one the fact that i dont like people and public gatherings, i prefer reading books and being where its quiet and alone.
Another being i simply dont see any religion or atleast religious societies being anything other than socially acceptable cults that draw power from its followers.
The way religions offer knowledge is too dogmatic for me, i prefer finding out the truth on my own terms without anyone telling me what to do.
It would also seem that religions are just pieces of the whole, for example how many christians know of the kabbalah.
Occultism doesnt really try to force anything into form, it allows me to explore spiritual ideas without restraints.

I've been getting involved with a local OTO group. I went to a few gnostic masses and some other talks that they had but then they had to move all their meetings to online and they're being less active lately. for any of you out there who have joined the OTO or been more deeply involved, did you regret it or do you think that it's not worth my time or do you think I might get something good out of it?
