Distaste with females

Haruyoshi · 2020-01-31 14:48
I don't consider myself an incel neither have I shared any connection with the incel community but recently I had my heart broken by this girl and I can't get over it. It was a one time thing and it was extremely short but the way that she cut me off and dismissed me hurts me than anything in a while I tried to get her to speak to me by saying sorry but she keeps responding with these one liners and now I have this distaste with all females. There's more to this story and buildup but anyone ever had this exact same feeling? I wanna know your experiences
Splicer · 2020-01-31 15:13
No, I love my wife.

Tarring an entire half of humanity with one brush because of the actions of a poorly behaved minority is the usual criticism incels level against feminists. You're doing the same thing based on the actions of ONE person.

>>20052 my wife and i just had our first kid. her affection for me evaporated into nothing postpartum and i've come to realize i'm now trapped in a life of crushing responsibility besides now being deprived of the only thing i want out of my relationship, since i don't have any other friends or partners who can provide it for me. it seems obvious now but it was a huge wake-up call to realize to how shallow the commitment of women is. I understand they have a biological drive for two things- protection, children. But I assumed that the emotions were genuine despite the evolutionary origin of those emotions. now i realized that even that isn't the case. she's pretty much made it clear she doesn't love me, even telling me she doesn't want a relationship with me, and I vary between resenting her and accepting my situation. Not that we have any other options, we were both kissless virgins before we met (which made me believe her emotions were genuine), and we are both against divorce anyway.

Yes its usually a flaw in thinking. In this case its either the reduction of this partner to "female", a belief that the reason she hurt you was because she was female, or a universal projection of her on all other women because maybe she was one of your few interactions with women. I do the opposite so I cant relate. I blame myself for these things.

>>20052 People change, lainon. It could be over 2 hours or 20 years. You can't stop them from changing in unpredictable ways and taking decisions, so just keep what you got from the time where you got along. It's not good for you to hate something you're missing. Currently volcel so I probably spared myself a lot of soykafty experiences as people's affections seem to be even more volatile now, but generally speaking just forget about finding love and work on yourself (and I don't mean the fitness/confidence soykaf, work on the flaws YOU see). My advice: You shouldn't worry about women too much, focus on yourself. Women will actually be MORE attracted to you if you're independent and aren't reliant on them for emotional stability (like a baby). You're distaste in women probably stems from expectations you have that weren't met up with, she's her own person and she doesn't need to live up to them.
Judge Fang · 2020-03-11 05:39
>>21303 I never understood this kind of logic, which seems to be applied by feminists, If a man has expectations of women to act a certain way he is a baby, immature, misogynistic, etc. But if a man doesn't meet a women's expectations he is also a baby, immature, misogynistic, etc. Discussions of gender roles are unparalleled in the mass, implicit acceptance of double standards. There is no way to have a reasonable discussion of gender issues because any discussion that isn't one sided in favor of women is shut down by attacking the character of any dissenter.

>>20052 >I don't consider myself an incel You're definitely an incel
Leto Atreides I · 2020-03-11 07:16
Kind of an incel. Definitely my own fault, though. I don't make friends, period, despite getting along well with everyone. This problem alone makes any relationship chance 100% kill. As for what I want out of a girl, I have high standards, maybe? I just want a girl that's pretty, not already in a relationship, is informed and cares about things, and shares an interest, hopefully two, and not boring as a wet board but not batshit crazy. That last one, it's always either without fail! Dating sites fuarrrking suck and I refuse to use them any more. Had been on and off of them for a long while. I haven't had success with them, probably because I have literally no photos of myself so I have to take a crappy selfie. That used to pass for a few messages a week in the early days like 10 years ago, but last I was doing online dating I didn't get messaged once in a year. Those experiences ended a few years ago and I flat out fuarrrking hate the idea of giving up my privacy to join one now. I also stereotype most people as uninteresting or dumb... doubly so with women. I know that's wrong, but it takes a lot to crack something interesting out of someone and the exterior is always boring. Also, if how one dresses is any indicator, I'm stuck in boring city with no deviation. Even a fat girl with a bit of black eyeliner gets my attention now. I also feel our current society gives far too much power to women for dating and relationships, which is evident in online dating experiences between gender and how common it is to see slim guys with obese chicks. Gender norms are awful, yadda yadda, good girls are committed, yadda, and I'm a short tinfoil sperglord, blah blah. I know I suck, but so does everyone else. Torblock sage.

Turner · 2020-03-11 09:08
I suggest avoiding incels like I have. That negative mindset can really mess with you. Also many girls change their minds so staying calm enough to not burn your bridges may pay off later, or not but at least nothing will blow up for you where an ex would want to sabatage future relationships.

>>22234 >Assuming people argue in earnest people will tell you what they believe will instill the desired behaviour in you. Never take what people say automatically at face value. People are manipulative in nature. To make it a bit more on topic: What i found curious is that while both men and woman are manipulative many woman are quite open and unapologetic boast about succeeding in getting you. I cant remember encountering the same with men. Maybe its cause its not a desired male quality so men hide it better and its just the equivalent to guys boasting about winning a fist fight.

Celibacy is voluntary by definition, this whole incel thing has gone too far. They aren't celibate, they're just guys that can't get laid. Celibacy is noble as fuarrrk, abstaining from anything is a test of strength. Sperging aside, I can somewhat relate to you OP. The problem is that over your bad experiences you have learned to see certain things as "red flags" even when they usually aren't. Basically, women are very different from men on an emotional level. They see hidden meaning behind our actions and often speak in riddles. From my experience this makes female friends very high maintenance and annoying, so I recommend only having a gf. When you get this gf you just have to be open as fuarrrk, and don't lie to her. When you brush off her stupid emotional soykaf she gets hurt, she can also tell when you pretend to care. You have to ask her to elaborate on why X hurts her feelings, why Y is a bad person, etc etc. Basically what I'm saying is that it takes a lot of practice for a man to actually understand a woman, and yes deciphering female riddles is annoying. So just find one girl you fancy and try make it work with her, in my opinion she will have to be extra special because gfs can be soul-draining. >>20090 >People change, lainon. It's hard to meet people outside of an educational environment, and people have became more and more shut-in over time. Either you've being an edgelord or you've been out of the loop for a while. Oh, I wish I haven't used the word incel. fuarrrk is that a loaded term or what, with the kind of image that conveys. I agree, celibacy is honorable, but things aren't so black and white. You can be both voluntary and involuntary. Having standards is fine, in fact a lack of them shows a lack of integrity. Also most of the time I don't even care to try and find a SO since it's too much trouble, and most of the time it has nothing to do with relationships or wanting one. Staying single for a long time can get someone in a rut real bad though, holding on to excuses like dogma and getting stuck in some negative thought pattern. It's important to always improve yourself, revise and be critical of your own perception, and be honest with what you really want. Considering the world? fuarrrk yeah I wanna be single. My time? Not enough. Myself? Eh I can swing it. My heart? It wants love.

And some women also don't want to conform to traditionally feminine expectations like meekness, submissiveness, being always agreeable, avoid conflict, etc. The really interesting conversation can happen when we also acknowledge the societal context in which these expectations crop up. >>22478 that's why feminists have - lobbied to take custody away from fathers - lobbied to keep fathers financially responsible for wives and children they have no right to - published countless journals and monographs that chalks every problem within society up to men and 'patriarchy' - treat women like objects by never making them accountable for anything - accuse men of objectifying women - accuse men who won't date fat women or single moms of being misogynists - raise boys in a public school system that teaches them that they're evil - enable millions of single mothers to abuse their children (look up the statistics, children of single parent households are magnitudes more likely to be abused physically, sexually, and verbally, and to develop mental illness, struggle financially, etc) >>22484 >wage gap women choose different jobs, preferring comfort and safety over salary and status. They also tend to prefer working shorter hours than men. There is nothing wrong with these preferences, but using them as evidence that men are somehow holding women down is disingenuous. There are strong evolutionary and cultural reasons men choose to work long hours and kill them selves en masse in their careers. >rape with no recourse women consistently receive less legal penalty for crimes across the board, including violent crimes, rape, and murder. The argument that rape is a difficult crime to prove and therefore society oppresses women who are raped is not sound, since men and children who are raped have no recourse either. While men and women do not have legal recourse in the case of rape, notice that men actually have less recourse, since they face ridicule from the culture where women receive support. The obsession feminists have with rape is not only ridiculous, it's harmful since it takes attention away from the biggest demographic of rape victims- children. Girls and boys, both of which feminists consistently sacrifice to the end of female comfort and "equality". >double standards on men and women like being drafted and dying as a teenager, being forced to work (notice that women have always had the opportunity to work, but are rarely forced)? How about women retaining the right at anytime to hit any man they want without recourse, despite the fact that men will be severely punished by law, culture and community if they do the same. These double standards are not new either. Men's problems are consistently denied and downplayed, and people, in general, have restricted compassion for a man who is suffering. >women are seen as lesser ("women can't STEM") no one says that. What the data shows is that women are as capable at STEM and math as men, but are statistically uninterested in those things. Women love people, men love things. No one thinks women are lesser because of this, just like men aren't thought of as being incapable as nurses, despite the fact that they choose not to go into that field. Go to any university as a women and see how many scholarships get thrown at you if you go into STEM, just because of your sex. >women seen as a second-class citizen historically women have been seen as intrinsically valuable, and men have been disposable, and the evolutionary explanation is not complicated. Think reproduction. It was and is only men who proved them selves and acquired unlikely wealth and status who had it better then women. In general, low status men have had it worse than low status women. >women demonized (see: this thread) Men are demonized more than women. Men are blamed for the bulk of domestic violence despite the fact that they are subjected to the highest percentage of it. A man is blamed for not getting his soykaf together if he can't support a woman, but you don't see the reverse. Men are blamed for wars despite this is a sacrifice many made on behalf of the women and children they loved. Men receive worse prison sentences for the same crime. Boys who are sexually abused are more likely to be ignored, told that they are liars, punished, etc than girls. Men are condemned in the mainstream media and culture based on a narrative of oppression that is verifiably false. The myth that "double standards" of society are there to oppress women is based on a logic that takes most of the precautions men have taken for millenia in order to protect women or children and turns these precautions against men. For instance, it's true that women historically have not had financial independence, but the reason is that men have historically been financially responsible for their wives and children. Of course men should be responsible for their wives, what happens when a woman is pregnant or has a newborn and can't work anymore, is the husband supposed to just leave her to fend for herself? So men are financially responsible for the family. Is this a double standard, or something that benefits women? Even today, courts make men financially responsible for ex wives as well as children for which they don't receive custody, and in many cases, children who the have no biological relation to. But historically, that financial burden came with proportional authority. The contemporary liberal ideologue believes that authority is a privilege, and not something that must come hand in hand with obligation. The idea that men collaborate in order to oppress women is ridiculous as well. It's clear that in disputes that take place between a man and a women, men will tend to favor the women, and women will tend to favor the woman as well. Men do not protect each other the way women often protect each other. And when a man works sixty hour a week, who has all the time in the world to think about how he should spend his money? His wife. And he's obligated to spend his money on her, culturally. This pattern is reflected in courting rituals. When a man takes a woman on a date, who pays? After the divorce, who pays alimony? Yet people are surprised that men are willing to work harder, longer, more dangerous hours when they have the bulk of responsibility to provide for the opposite sex, an obligation that women do not share. I am not denying that oppression exists, just that it is unique to women. The premise of feminism that the patriarchy is the cause of oppression is also patently false. Despite this, culture continues to push the narrative of feminism because we are predisposed by evolution to protect women, which is a good thing. What's not good is the accusation that everything men have done for centuries in the service of women is done because of misogyny and toxic masculinity.

Wizard here. I'm committed to lifelong wizardry (now). I also have a lot of sympathy for the arguments and complaints of incels, I don't see them as a really villainous group of people, though I do find it to be an overwhelmingly negative, low-energy group. Anyway, I don't think there's anything wrong with your reaction at all. When I was younger, I lived in an all white community, and then got relocated to another country where for the first time I dealt with large numbers of non-whites. Because of the way many of them acted, I really came to fear and dislike them. I resented them in general because when I considered threats to my safety and happiness - they were mostly coming from these people, and I wasn't concerned to understand them beyond avoiding them for my own sake. I didn't become ideological or anything, but I developed what I'd consider 'organic' racism, which I think should be acknowledged is a completely different thing to ideological racism. Any group of one race coming up against another with different class status, etc can experience this. Thankfully as I grew older, I came to consider the factors (historical, social, etc) which contributed to make those people act that way, and I also saw that many white people can act horribly too, so a wider and deeper perspective ultimately overcame that reaction of racism. When it comes to women, though, you're talking about an entirely different thing because I believe the differences in social standing, etc are more immediate, universal, and significant; and because there's even a biological\physiological aspect to this. I'm pretty much as 'red pilled' as you could possibly get, I believe. Women genuinely rule over us from birth to death, and there is no overcoming the universality and power of gynocentrism, the inherent greater social valuing of women, or the misandry that seems to originate almost organically in society. I have this stuff rubbed in my face all the time, too, by a society that's happy to express open sexism, threats of violence and so on against me as a male. That said, I've talked to many women online and I've found that there are plenty of women who are lovely as individuals, and many women who are decent but have made mistakes in hurting men, and seemed to genuinely regret it. For example I talked to one czech girl not long ago who told me she'd dated a guy and then discovered she didn't love him - this in itself triggered my own fears above love and acceptance from women upon first hearing it, but the more I heard of her story, I could see she had just made mistakes to fall into this situation and genuinely felt bad for hurting him, and she couldn't help how she felt in terms of attraction. That's one example, but there are plenty of women I've met who are even capable of having perspectives on their own such as consideration for incels, dejected men, etc. It's just that because of the ruling power of women as a demographic and biologically, it's easy to feel that the actions of an individual are overwhelmed by some sort of malignant force of woman as a collective. Sometimes I've even talked to women who were lovely, only to hear them say one thing that really upset me, like one girl I thought was amazingly compassionate then expressing the view that "these males should go back and fight for their women in their own country", which brought to mind the way women collectively often push men into fighting eachother to death (say in WW1 and 2). But considering her position in more detail I could see that she was repeating nationalist meme arguments, and was mostly doing that because she'd been very badly physically attacked by immigrants. There's the biological\physiological aspect too. Our first experiences of closeness with another human baby are usually with a mother, and as males most of us are sexually attracted to women. So I'd bet that even without the physical aspects, on an associative level - rejection by one woman would be very likely to become associated with women as a whole rather than men. There are hormones like Prolactin, Oxytocin, and Dopamine which are apparently released in connection to physical contact with mothers\partners. Prolactin is believed to be involved in 'bonding' a baby to its mother, it is released by both the mother AND child during breastfeeding and is associated with 'clingyness' of both the mother for child and the child for mother. Babies with high levels of prolactin experience greater fear and unhappiness out of sight of the mother they're bonded to, there's a stress response during separation and this is only alleviated by being touched by the mother or breastfeeding, etc. A similar thing takes place with couples, I believe, and perhaps males are more susceptible to negative, painful feelings when separated. I know in my own experience - I used to consume a lot more porn, and when I'd try to recover from the porn, I'd often go through maybe a 2-3 week period of feeling really really bitter and upset about issues relating to women, these feelings would gradually taper off ... but much of the time if I didn't last long enough, I'd end up consuming more porn to satisfy my 'stress' response. These are just my subjective experiences, I could be completely off - but just hearing about experiences of people in general, it makes sense to me that people can feel really embittered by separation, and part of it may be physiological\hormonal. None of this is to say that my negative and bitter thoughts about women aren't justified at least in terms of whether there is objective truth to what I feel bad about, but realising that a part of the negativity is tied to my physical desire\need for touch and women, has helped me manage my feelings more. So my advice would be, simply be aware that you'll experience lots of negative feelings, especially considering it's not just a separation but a rejection too. Acknowledge your feelings, but monitor them and be aware of how they change over time, and remind yourself that if you're having negative thoughts, they could partly be based on the state of your body. Ultimately both men and women make mistakes, bad judgements, etc in relationships and hurt one another - I doubt that it's ever possible that anyone could avoid doing so. Know that you have value in yourself regardless of what one individual woman thinks. The absurd thing about reality is that with billions of people out there, even if you'll never find her in time - there is probably someone out there who'd be really happy with you, and even if there wasn't - that doesn't detract from your value as a human being. I've also found that it helps to look into the nature of gender and see that gender essentialism is a spook, and also look into the many ways men can act in soykafty ways as a collective and as individuals, at least then you balance things out a bit. This is a more functional mindset than becoming embittered towards people. Either way, I believe in a coming cosmic waifu for all of us, so I wouldn't stress.

TW: ideology I wouldn't describe myself as misogynistic. I classify misogyny very specifically so as to avoid. I identify as gynophobic. I believe in the separation of sex and gender. I classify femininity as a pathway into a diasporic nation with a collective consciousness expressing existence subconsciously, separately, and distinct from 'most any individual's conscious thoughts. I might call a proudly feminine self-feminizing individual a "gynational" or "gyno national". I consider the gynation to have globally dominated the memetic sphere of influence, leaving only the hierarchical sphere of influence as a medium for shaping each other. I also consider the gynation to suppress the dominance of hierarchies relative to memes through war on kyriarchy. I fear the possibility that the gynation's collective subconscious desires a male genocide outwardly justified by theories of animal husbandry applied to human eugenics, but inwardly zealified by art created by compelling suicide. I fear if I ever unwittingly contribute to that end. I fear even now if I might make someone self-aware. Can I trust Lainon? Should I move somewhere else? I've never gone to usenet.

>>23647 Yeah, that's what I mean. You shouldn't be. You're never going to be "alpha" or in control or frankly lovable until you get around that and self-actualize and learn to live without caring so much about that. Then you'll find what you want from women as well as everything else in life. That's the paradox. I know it sounds like gobbledigook from the other side of it; I've been there and scoffed as well. I've thought I hated all these plebian pieces of ѕһіt--as you say--around me. But the fact was I didn't comprehend what they had yet and interpreted that confusion as my own superiority. The ego is a cruel thing. It pumps you up while isolating you and making you act like a fool. It makes you ignore important data for the sake of saving face. It happened to me for years, I'm not trying to put you down in any way. I promise that. It's about women, but first it has to not be about women. I'm not going on about some PUA trash either; you truly must figure out how to exist as a self-contained individual before you can have experiences with others that aren't fraught with bitterness and disappointment. Lots of people never learn and go their entire lives projecting that hate on women in general, which is sometimes cathartic but ultimately a dead end of loneliness and pain. From the way people talk here I can tell most still have a ways to go to figure out their insecurities and become comfortable with themselves before they have a chance to enter a relationship (including friendships with the same sex, frankly) that isn't doomed to miscommunication, disappointment, and eventually revulsion. I've met women of all kinds in my life, with as rich an inner world as any man has. There are unique individuals that defy all the stereotypes and trappings that frustrate any given man. You can and will find them, but not if you're blinded by your own issues. And I never said anything about careers. That's another bit of tunnel-vision people have when trying to be their most ideal self, free and empowered to make their whims reality. Most people with excellent careers still rarely decide something for themselves their whole lives through. You have to focus on the right spot, or else you're just going to get distracted and work for decades on someone else's agenda. That goes for careers, seeking women (either through friendly methods or through crude power like suggested by someone above) and many other little trappings of the ego. The question every man must ask himself every morning is if he's free to decide how he wants to use this day. It sounds corny, I know, but some things seem banal because they're long-ignored truths. It's holistic. It's part of what people in this thread are longing for as well.

>>23975 I like this take. Similar experience. These spiritually vapid times are a real thing; I believe Ted Kaczynski when he talked about the deleterious effects of technology, the oversocialization which emerges from that, and the fundamental effects and incompatibilities between the human mind and hypercommunities/hypercommunication. But the ultimate result of this is merely that one needs to spend more time and look further. These treasures are far more rare today than they once may have been, but they are still possible--and the search isn't yet impossibly daunting. It's not orders of magnitude harder, only a few times more difficult than it may have been in earlier eras. And who can really say what things were like in personal life back then? This is a notoriously difficult part of history to study and prove. You can't find people who will never disappoint you (neither men nor women), but you can find somebody interesting enough and sufficiently rarely disappointing that the final calculus ends in your favor and it's generally a great presence in your life. This is all one should hope for: avoid both triumphalism and defeatism. Be realistic. It's something I believe we're losing the ability to do as a result of the oversocialization technology I mentioned above. But it's still possible. Don't be jaded. Defeatism is cowardice. You are a fine person and you owe yourself better than that. Keep trying and you'll either succeed or die as a frustrated person, but at least you'll know you didn't betray yourself and cower from the world. That's a far lesser frustration by an enormous margin. It may not feel like that now, but on your deathbed you'll suddenly see. Keep trying out of spite if nothing else.

The problem with incel communities is that they're negatively defined. It's the same as with alcoholics anonymous or weight watchers---but they have a trick that let's them avoid that problem. When the whole community is defined in terms of avoiding something. The focus is on that which is to be avoided; it is about the lack of something which once brought some enjoyment. How do alcoholics anonymous or weight watchers go about the avoidance? They fill it with something else. (Preferably something healthy.) Such happens anyway, but they choose the replacement behaviour consciously. Incels, often, don't. Often, their replacement behaviour is unhealthy. The most patent replacement behaviour for their jerking is insider trading about nonjerking. They replace carnal with intellectual masturbation.

A lot of dishonesty here. It's very easy to see, you don't hear anything about males being vapid or boring and the likes. Even if there is plenty of material for specific cases coming from the gays and the femboys or the girls with poor experiences, you never see those generalizations around. And it is not because of the danger of exposing ourselves with it, all that nonsense about NPCs and normal people is there for a reason This means the whole treatise is only aimed at women because you want to fuarrrk them and they aren't excited by the thought of it, not by any other less biased motivation, things that go from wanting to remove their freedoms to wanting them killed for the crime of not liking you. In other words, it is a normal person rant with some words changed to get replies, and it is quite boring as a result.

>>24351 there's also more to female companionship than sticking your cock in a warm hole. Being with a woman, the right kind of woman and not the boring thots that incels seem to have tunnel vision for, is a wonderful feeling. It's the kind of thing that, unfortunately, many people never experience. Ironically I think incels are perfect for the thots they worship and hate. They're shallow, spiteful things, devoid of any real love, who imagine sex like it's porn. You personally sound decent enough, from your post. It's really not that hard to get a gf if you're not amazingly ugly, just have the sense to evaluate if someone's compatible rather than just attractive, have the balls to ask people out, and don't be clingy or an asshole. That's seriously where most womens' standards are at these days.

>>24374 >>incels Yes children keep perpetuating a meaningless label! You do your feminist social justice warrior overlords proud!
Batou · 2020-04-07 00:09
>>24470 Not him, but you're making the same mistake he does: misandry != feminism social terrorist != social justice warrior Calling someone an incel is in my opinion discrimination of single people and causes only harm, while preserving sexist stereotypes and inducing hate. Sad to see this thread turning into soykaf brewing central instead of resolving simple problem OP has. >>20052 OP, people generally are stupid and selfish, no matter what gender. It is really hard to find a good friend, not to mention a good friend with sexy body willing to be with you. It's just probability. Sorry to say that, but male's function in nature is generating genetical diversity. This means there's overproduction of males to strengthen the gene pool in the way of natural selection. If you loose the gene lottery, you won't breed. Nature is cruel and you don't choose who you are. There was something important, but I forgot it, so enjoy the disabled version of my speech.

>>24470 Every time the word incel is used on this board you find some retarded incel complaining about the use of it, reducing an opinion or an entire post to just "duhhh you said the bad word, my brain turn off now". Your moronic view of the world and the fact you parrot the same old 'SJW NOOO' that was old 5 years ago proves your opinion is worth nothing and your brains barely functioning. Please just leave these places if you can't handle it, seeing you get triggered by one simple word just makes me want to use it all the more.
Netrunner · 2020-04-07 01:02
>>24487 Right? The incel movement (which is very much a real thing) has made all these strange newspeak lingo words to interrupt and terminate thought to begin with. Then they don't want others using those terms against them. Can't have it both ways. Beware a (non-technical) community that tries to inundate you with new terminology and lingo. It's most likely a cult. They greatly dissuade escape from the very thing they are suffering from: celibacy. They have newspeak for that too. "Hopecels" are ridiculed, called "simps" (another bit of newspeak they use as a tool of ideological discipline, stolen from ebonics because even they realized that "white knighting" was too ridiculous to ever be taken seriously). They don't want you to get better or escape. They want you as a permanent cultist, to become ever more hopeless and reliant on their community at the exclusion of all others. Run as fast as you fuсking can. Now.

>>20052 Female companionship is honestly overrated. Romantic love is just an affront for what lies inside-sexual attraction. Our culture should seriously stop idealizing these meme tier sentiments. We are products of the society around us hence why people think that not having a girlfriend means there's something seriously wrong with them.

>>24493 >Romantic love is just an affront for what lies inside-sexual attraction. I hate this sophomoric "hurr it's all brain chemicals bruh" bullshit that virgins with anime avatars like to spew. I'm sorry that you never experienced anybody's love but no, there's a big difference between having a partner and paying off a hooker, which you imply is exactly the same.
William Holtzer · 2020-04-07 10:33
>>24510 It is all brain chemicals. Unless you're telling me there is some immaterial cause that drives these sentiments. And the difference is just the difference between the gratification you get when you get some food when you're hungry and when you are eating your favorite dish. There isn't much deeper meaning to it.
Spike Spiegel · 2020-04-07 10:48
>>24513 OK. Why should I bother talking to you? Why should I respect you any more than I respect an insect? You don't even pollinate.

>>24515 I never asked you to in the first place.
Debbie Charteris · 2020-04-08 08:17
>>24513 Not the other dude you're talking with, but: Do you hold the same opinion about platonic friendship and socialization? The same arguments hold true (you have an inherent need to socialize that rewards you with serotonin when met, everyone has certain traits they prefer in friends that enhance the experience, etc. etc.) "It is all brain chemicals" applies to everything you experience, doesn't it? It's true, but unless you're pushing nihilism it's not a useful judge of anything.
Agent Jones · 2020-04-08 09:30
>>24513 You believe your brain chemicals to tell you they're chemicals you fool.
Crash Override · 2020-04-08 14:21
>>24556 A valid meme but not applicable here. The real argument should be you can take anything apart and turn it into a math formula. If that's your basis to devalue then nothing can have value. Its not useful. >>24554 You could straight up inject drugs if you just aim to satisfy your brain. I think people miss the real goal here. Your brain is setup to reward useful behaviour for survival. You can cheat its function like you can exploit any system but you're just bypassing the system and as the system is you, you are cheating yourself. We're arguably all fuarrrked up in some way cause we are build to minmax satisfaction and we all get exploited for it by each other as everyone tries to make more money and our understanding on how to exploit the brain grows. In a way its one big crab bucket as we prevent each other from doing something better longterm by selling cheap exploits to each other.
Lunch · 2020-04-09 05:44
>>24560 We won't find out how chemicals affect us to the level we're able to feel any time soon, so even if everything is chemicals is right at the same time it means nothing, and a bit of introspection on how it means nothing from what we learned to consider valuable in life and how we reached that point shows it's more than chemicals anyway. No chemical mixture can effectively take over that without seriously messing up the rest of what we are I guess.
Boris Grishenko · 2020-04-09 14:26
>>24570 What do you consider all the hormone & neural transmitter studies to be? Serotonin manipulation is for example extensively researched on the impact on social behaviour. Theres also transcranial magnetism, one study showed you could manipulate hostility by turning a brain section off. Research on gambling addiction is nowadays used by everyone to maximize addiction to their product. Its not perfect but we already got an impressive arsenal on behavioral manipulation.
Spooky · 2020-04-09 21:47
>>24554 I'm the guy you were replying too. My specific criticism was about romantic love, from my perspective it's little more than a glorified sexual attraction. Hence why just like in my favourite food analogy, it grows weaker and weaker the more you have it, sort of law of diminishing returns. This is why this feeling don't last very long, especially as you get older and being sexually attracted to your partner becomes impossible. Though for most people it dies down after a few years. Sure platonic relationships can be explained with chemical relationships however you should understand the context in which I was replying to OP who thinks not having a female partner makes him or his life incomplete which I think is a farce. By pure correlation it's more likely he's going to encounter someone from the same gender with higher degree of commonality and hence more likely to form a more long lasting friendship/platonic relationship/whatever tf you want to call it than with someone with opposite gender. I wasn't asking OP to succumb to nihilism, 'oh they are all chemical reactions', but rather asking him to stop being so obsessed over muh female companionship and incel mindset that'll hinder his normal functioning and focus on building genuine friendships.

>>24612 People here are from different parts of the world and speak many languages. Sometimes you can be just tired and your brain swaps "too" and "to" without noticing, even though you know the difference. Do you even know more than one language?
Hitomi · 2020-04-09 22:49
>>24613 Yes, I know more than one language. And no, english isn't my native language. And yes, it's very late in the country I am in and I am really tired. And even though starting a sentence with "and" is unorthodox and considered bad practice, it is still not grammatically incorrect.
William Holtzer · 2020-04-10 05:23
>>24612 That's a typo re-tard, I was typing from my phone using swipe and it has hard time recognising between to and too. Good job sperging out over such a common mistake.
Faye Valentine · 2020-04-11 00:18
>>24611 I think I just plain disagree with you, then. Of course you don't need romantic love to be happy, and you shouldn't let it trip you up, but most people I've met have a pretty easy time distinguishing between love and lust. How do long-term marriages fit into your worldview? Or people with ugly/sick partners?
