Surrogacy

So I (like I'm sure many of you have) have given up on ever getting someone to have children with. I still feel a genetic obligation to have a child, and time is starting to run out, so I'm wondering about other alternatives. Have any lains gone the surrogacy or similar routes? What were your results?

menhavingbabies.com is a useful resource for this kind of thing. I've already been looking into this, as I don't think I could trust anyone but myself alone to raise my child. I have yet to do this, and I do not plan on doing it for awhile, as I am 20 years old, but it's good to make plans early. I'll need to start amassing funds while I can, because the whole process is extraordinarily expensive, and I would like to have enough money once the process that I won't have to work intensely to survive, and that I can spend a reasonable amount of time with the child.

Adopt. You are not an animal, you can overcome your harmful instincts if you try. Keep this in mind: your hypothetical future child can not consent to be born. Do you think it's ok to bring them into this world where things like painful illnesses, torture, and poverty exist because there is a small chance that they might become happy? Once a person is born, their biological instincts and years of social conditioning will prevent them from exiting life, even if living becomes a miserable experience. What is more important to you: satisfying your selfish desires or being a decent person?
