Food feels like a huge waste of time. I've found ways to have enough calories to keep going but that doesn't do much for micronutrients.
What sort of products are there that I can readily buy for a reasonable price?
Popular vegetable juice brands seems to only be low-quality crap that doesn't actually provide enough to be worth it.
Failing buying, are there vegetables that are good that I can just shove them in a juice extractor and exclusively live off kasha + canned fish + extractor juice?
> inb4 soylent
No. They don't have any in local stores and I don't want to order from other countries.

You need fibers to process sugar and other things, while juice is made they are destroyed so it is a bad idea to have a diet with so much liquid sugar.

Shouldn't we have this soykaf solved by now? Why do I still have spend hours a day stuffing my body with fuel, then waste a third of my life laying unconscious?

I unironically watched someone live on vitamin supplements and nutrition bars for roughly 4 months before his body started to get so fuarrrked up he ended up hospitalized and his immune system started to fail. You need texture, fiber (not blended), and some of the bacteria that can only be found in fresh food to help digestion (i.e. yogurt).

It's probably more appropriate to think that the "problem" is in your body rather than in our ability to create new fuels. Your body is just suited for taking in this kind of fuel in this way. You should probably be looking to new artificial organs to solve this "problem" rather than new foodstuffs or diets. I suppose the good thing about the current digestive system, though, is that it can operate while cut off from the power grid/other industrial sources of energy and chemicals. Then again, though, we could probably still engineer off-grid artificial organs that would be more efficient than our current organs.
Then again, though, have you seen Texhnolyze? It essentially argues that humans get so much pleasure and motivation from things like eating that if we did away with these processes, humans would become severely depressed. That's not really a problem if we can edit what humans find appealing through drugs or whatever, but that brings its own problems into the picture.

seriously anon I cook a great healthy meal with fresh veges, protein and carbohydrates almost every night and I actually really enjoy doing it. It's very satisfying to be able to feed yourself well.
I used to have a similar attitude to you but then I just got better at cooking over time and now I don't even think about it. I just default to cooking good food.
Also I actually don't think there's any cheat way of just good nutrition. It really is just about eating decent meals (essentially just with a few different colours on the plate - brown, white, yellow, red green.).

indeed. you can see for yourself if that applies for you though OP.

>Skip to greentext below if you dont want to hear my thoughts on why you should cook your own food as well
cooking, eating, how you arrange the space you live in, these are things one can ignore or do minimally for the sake of efficiency. But you might start to forget why you want to be efficient. They give our life purpose, not as in "cooking is my purpose" rather cooking connects you with the environment and your body in an unperceivable way, and things you could say make a little more "sense".
maybe this wont be true for you though, I think it will be and il trust youl notice if it is. For me though a lack of mindfulness towards any activity equates to a slow buildup of a loss of "soul" or purpose. Imagine if say your room was made all of furniture you created, how different might that space be and how much more might you be attatched to it. Have you ever built a computer? I actually havent but all my friends who have feel a sort of special attatchment to that thing, it gives them a small dose of happiness just using it, maintaining it, while I treat my technology like soykaf over here and its just a means to an end. Food is like this too, and unlike making all your own furniture its very doable and can even be much cheaper.
If you get enjoyment from that kind of minimal rough diet, you could definitely can/perserve your own fish and what not. It seems like though that might already be of interest to you, and I think is a good solution. If soylent and the soykaf out there isnt for you find some recipes for things that you can make in bulk and last a long time and meet nutritional needs.
>alright lecture aside let me just answer your fuarrrking question
Kale obviously is great, cabbage for digestion, you may want to include soy or some plant protein to get variety, as just fish may not provide you with all the protein you need. However do remember that people in rural areas, especially in "underdeveloped" countries often consume a very limited diet and low amounts of protein and can still work all day in the field and often even live to old age, so you dont need to be as anal about it as people say. Id reccomend you start with obvious answers for your juice, see how you feel after a few weeks and if anything comes up, look into it and add/reduce things as needed.
You definitely can live off of kasha, fish, and plant juice. Again a lot of the worls is living off of just grains and plants already most of the time so youd be a step ahead. You really need to be careful about the canned fish though, you can get a variety of poisonings from eating too much depending on what its canned in/preservatives/the process. I reccomend you do it yourself for my moral reasons but also for your safety and cost efficiency.

Food is a joy and learning to cook is a prerequisite to becoming a whole person.
There's no way to cheat being able to whip up a healthy meal, you have to learn basic cooking methods. Start by learning to chop veggies and stir fry them in a pan with veg oil. Eating stir fried veggies (and meat) over rice is healthy, cheap, and easy. I'd recommend binge watching chinese cooking on youtube for some basic methods and do some trial and error from there.
See attached, particularly "Professional Cooking." Think about cooking in terms of process rather than recipes. It's better to learn a single ingredient very well (say how to cook potatoes in different ways) rather than learning a recipe, like it's easier to learn about data structures before coding a big project.

This seems like a strange idea. Why do you believe this?
Food lovers represent only a fraction of humanity. It seems that the food-hating mentality demonstrated by OP and >>13323 is completely foreign to the food lovers, but this does not make it an invalid perspective. I personally have a phobia of food lovers; their passion seems nearly as grotesque to me as the ravenous hunger of a zombie. This probably has something to do with the fact that two of the small number of prominent individuals in my personal life are food lovers whose lives revolve around cooking and eating. While we eat, they talk about food. When the meal has finished, they talk about the next meal. Are they just fueling themselves for the purpose of eating? To make matters worse, some of my family members, who are either incapable of understanding or unwilling to understand the things I actually care about, believe me to be a food lover. It is too much for me to comfortably take.
Gandhi ostensibly said that there are individuals in this world who are so hungry that God cannot appear to them except in the form of bread. While I think I can sympathize with this, I can't accept it when someone is well-fed and yet goes on acting as though food is divine.

Look up Chronometer. It's a service that lets you properly count micro and macro nutrients in your diet. Unfortunately, it is proprietary and you have to pay for the service that lets the program generate meals that would cover everything within the range for your height and weight.
For FLOSS, there is Waistline, but it needs a lot of work.

I had never heard about that to be honest, but a quick search brings some articles suggesting it's a myth. What I do know is that ingested cholesterol doesn't affect your blood cholesterol levels. The cholesterol in your blood is produced by your own body and is regulated by other precesses. I'm not sure how well understood those processes are, but the food cholesterol leading to blood cholesterol hypothesis is known to be false.

Tell me about it, so many people believe the weirdest soykaf. Like I've had a few people now tell me that eating an egg is worse than smoking a cigarette because some documentary said it. Turns out it's because it has more cholestrol, even though it's good cholestrol. Also "eating healthy" to most people = low calories. No consideration of macro or micro nutrients, just lettuce and tomato salads. In the end you just learn that your gran who is completely uneducated on the subject is right, and nothing beats steak and veggies.
Even worse is being a skinny guy and having to explain to everyone that it's not because of my metabolism. That's just a bullsoykaf myth propagated by fatties. I have counted my calories a bunch of times and it matches my estimated expenditure.

Some ideas:
Add liver (personally, i like calf liver) to your diet once a week. I usually just fry liver strips for a few minutes and eat that with some vegetables.
Eggs. Be careful which eggs if you wanna eat them raw. Try to find a farmer and buy from them directly.
Broccoli/kale/spinach. Either steam it or cook it (steaming preserves more nutrients afaik). Doesn't take ages. You can turn it into a drink with a blender if you wish.
Fermented/pickled vegetables. Easier to digest, bunch of healthy bacteria and no need for cooking.
Smoked salmon. It's fish, it's tasty. You can also consider salmon eggs. If it's too expensive, any smoked fish will do.
basic yogurt with no sugar added is good on it's own. You can add berries or oats if you wish.
raw or low pasteurized milk is a good source of nutrients as well. Be careful where you source this from tho. I would suggest goat milk if you can get it.
If you feel tired after a meal and you don't work out, cut out/lower your carbs (i treat carb-high food as emergency food when my fresh food stock is empty). At least they have that effect on me. Cut out/lower anything that gives you a spike in your sugar level. You can still eat fruits, but keep them at very minimum due sugars they contain.
Look up "one meal a day", "keto", "low carb", "paleo" diets if you need inspiration.
Some suggested raw meat. I would advise to be careful if you will go with that. Make sure it's sourced from a healthy meat factory or from a local farmer. Imo, not worth a risk unless you raise and butcher the animal yourself. And even then i would at least smoke cure the meat before eating it.

Vinegar/lemon (acidic stuff in general) helps you digest food so maybe that's why you don't have gas issues then.
You can also give fermented/pickled/canned plants a try. They are way easier to digest and carry along a lot of healthy bacteria as far as I am aware.
