As the title might sugest I think I have a problem with being to closed toward others especially whit the things I create (or at least I try to create). I tend to hide the thing I make (photography, programming) and almost never show it to others. I think this is having a negative feedback on the creative process as I very often simply abandon the things I make and never finish them. I just lose interest in it, because of the fear of recjection (it is easier for me to say that I'm still working on it I will show it later). I have a whole lot of unprocess images that I took even a few years ago, my "programming" folder is filled with abandon pieces of games and other software. This is getting depresing and I just want to do something about it. I seek advice how to change this, how to evolve, and how to be more open with the work I do.
I think this is some form of imposter syndrom as when I start a new game project I have thoughts I will make it free but close soure. I justify this with the idea that close source allowes to make more secrets in game that players will have to work hard to find but it always leads to the same thing. The irrational (yes I know it's irrational) fear evolve and soon I change the idea that this will be a personal project that only I will play, and a little later I drop the project. The funny thing is I'm a professional programmer for several years and I know that I have the skill to pull the project to the end. I just can't for the love of god move forward and finish anything because of the fear that someone, somewhere won't like it.
What could be relevant in my condition is that I never had any problem durring my university years to show solution to say mathematical problems on a blackboard to the whole class. I think the reason of this is that then I was presenting some facts that no one could say that he or she didn't like it. There just facts.
I hope that didn't bore other lainons to death with my story but I really needed to let this out. I hope that this will bring me closer to experiencing catharsis in some way. Any advice how to cope with this problem will be appreciated.
[Pic related as this is a photo I took a few months ago using a 35mm film camera].

You can post those things here but maybe the wired doesn't have the kind of feeback you want.
This is exactly what you want to do so maybe the advice is useless but reach a friend or someone friendly and say in your words something like "Hey, i've been programing/photographing for sometime but have always put off to show it before now, check it out".
I think it is important to state that you've been doing things but not sharing before because it'll add more significance to it as a breakthrough.
Of course there is no need to share how hard it was for you to do it because it will bias the feedback.

BOOO!
Seriously going closed source is a bad idea for lifespan and modding, i can say that as a gamedev and also if you want to make secrets in the game you could just worst case obscure the code, i doubt anyone will analyze source to find secrets.
If youre looking for motivation/affirmation then maybe make a blog or so.
In case youre afraid people will judge you negatively, they probably wont even if they do fuarrrk em.

Thanks, I will try to find someone close, that I could share my work with.

I know. Especially that I don't want to do it for profit. This just is like kicking dead whales down the beach what irrational soykaf resides in my head. A blog is still to much for me, but maybe making some baby steps I will get there soon.

That is a very nice place.

I will definitely check that thread out. My ultimate goal though is to share my work not only through anonymous image boards so for photos I was thinking to join a photographic club in my city. Maybe take part in some events that they organize. This is a big step for me so it will take some time before I will eventually join that club.
I'm not aware of a programming equivalent of such a club (hackerspace as I understand are more hardware oriented then software oriented).

Oh, and if your wondering about where was that photo taken, then it was taken in Slovenia (very nice country for a vacation).

You need to practice putting your code out where others can see it. Then you will gain confidence doing it.
When you put code out for others to look over you are helping the coding ecosystem and also helping your code.
If they call you a loser for the code you've written then you have lost the battle but not the war. It may not even hurt as much as you keep anticipating it will.
This is a chance for personal development and you're the only one who can accept it for yourself.
