Another Unforgiving and Lonely Valentines

Yet Another Lainon · 2019-02-15 01:08
>be me >workout every day, every week >torso one day, legs the next, and two days of cardio after; then repeat >no social life. At all. >no female interaction. None. >no friends at the gym, I workout in silent seclusion among the masses >25 years old, supposed to be living my best days of my life >emotionally insufficient and depressed >angry >so angry >it may never end >nobody is here to help
Nemissa · 2019-02-15 01:37
>>12764 are you trying to live for yourself or for other people? valentines day means nothing, let the rage go. you are merely one of many people who are just like you also this probably belongs in the let it all out thread
Meddler · 2019-02-15 02:44
>Day of Rage (Arabic: ‎) is the name given by protesters in Bahrain to 14 February are you by any chance middle eastern OP?
Lunch · 2019-02-15 13:47
>>12766 OP here, and no, I am American. >>12765 I live for myself, but as I get older, I feel like I need someone else with me. I constantly feel alone. Really, my post here was just a rant, if anything.
Yamaoto Toshi · 2019-02-16 05:07
You're implying heavily that working out will grant you all those things you seek, that's not a guarantee. It definitely has benefits but you need to explore other areas as well to increase your chances of success. Good luck.
Yet Another Lainon · 2019-02-16 05:29
no social interaction or female interaction ever helped me to cure my depression, it just kinda made it worse It is easy to say for me because I am non virgin with few rather close friends but it surely has a compounding effect if you don't have those.
The Oracle · 2019-02-17 04:00
>>12769 you constantly feeling alone is the problem itself. As you get older people also become more wary of letting those sorts of people in, as you say "nobody is here to help me". Your at an age now where few will want to help you, its not that they dont like you or dont want you to succeed its just a big undertaking and they risk sinking themselves because everyone is trying to make it. Somebody might want you around but they arent ready for the emotional commitment of being your savior or even person you depend on. The only way out is through, just like your workouts lainon. These are those big struggles of adulthood you were always told about. You arent alone in being alone or struggling, many of us are. The best people ive known told me "its not that im super motivated, its not that I dont understand your dilemna, but you just have to move on and keep going. Thats how I did it". Im not talking about well off people either, well off now but just because they pushed on. You can start by getting the ideas out of your head that these are supposed to be your best years, you will decide at the end of your life when those are. Many of us miss out on something so dont worry, but you definitely wont gain anything by stacking yourself up to other people. When the goings too hard and you need to rant on lainchan, cry, whatever, thats fine too. As long as you keep in mind "im gonna get to a better place" and recoup, even if you only recoup for a few hours and the rest of the day is spent in fear and isolation, your 2 hours closer. sorry im not trying to be a dumb motivational speaker but what other choices are there honestly. Im sure people have told you these things but theres nothing else to say, I guarantee you every time people around me told me soykaf like this I was just like "agghh". Im by no means in a great perfect place but things have been slowly getting better. Right now things are as bad internally as they have ever been for me, but I have some hope at least and an idea of where im going and thats enough for now.

My mum didn't give me a present this year, so that's a positive.
Hitomi · 2019-02-17 23:29
>workout every day, every week >every day Well, here's your problem. Working out every day is completely insane. Nobody does that, not even pro athletes. Your body needs to rest, you need rest days, at least one or two a week. That's why you're depressed and angry, by the way. You're tired and overtrained. Because of that your cortisol is chronically elevated which causes depression, moodiness and irritability. Here's a tip. Rest. Maybe even take a break from working out, just for a while and take a blood test, just in case.
Y.T · 2019-02-18 00:44
>>12803 >nobody does that, not even pro atheletes my mom does that
Just another Random Lainon · 2019-02-18 00:51

SHODAN · 2019-02-18 00:57
>>12805 >>12806 you need your muscles to grow and repair 3 times a week is regular workout time
Agent Jones · 2019-02-18 06:42
>>12803 Alternate days for upper and lower is fine. You can work your abdominals every day, and maybe your forearms.
Lain Iwakura · 2019-02-18 09:08
Two main things involved in romance happening to you 1.Attraction- in this area it seems you're doing all you can, with all the working out 2.Opportunity- You need to be in positions in which you can be approached, you can see people, things can happen
Ivan Petrov · 2019-02-18 12:55
>>12808 maybe you do weakling
Incognito · 2019-02-18 16:01
>>12806 It's possible to get away with it if you're not doing weightlifting or you're on steroids. Your body will obviously recover more easily from a mom yoga workout or cardio compared to bicep curls and deadlifts. I agree with the cara anon. It's possible that OP is working out too hard.
Emmanuel · 2019-03-12 16:37
LOL, girls are the end game man, figure out other things that bring you fulfillment in life, women will follow.
Agent Richard Gill · 2019-03-14 03:23
>>12764 I started some light exercise a couple years ago. Nothing major, just three sets of as many push ups and sit ups I could do per day and some stretching. I did this for about a year. I noticed that I became a more angry person doing this. Shorter temper, spoiling for a fight. I think it was because I thought subconsciously I was becoming stronger and wanted to test myself. I realized this sort of toxic masculinity isn't welcome in this day and age, so I stopped working out. You should probably stop too OP. Working out seems like the new smoking. You are probably alienating yourself from society. Beard, dad bod, soy latte, and flannel type seems more popular with the ladies now. I would have never guessed the Al Borland type would be the in thing one day, but here we are.
Batou · 2019-03-14 05:41
>>13062 > toxic masculinity Lol. People who think that masculinity is toxic aren't welcome any day and age.
Cypher · 2019-03-14 07:00
>>13062 The kind of ladies who are attracted to skinny/dad bod lumberjacks are not the kind of ladies anyone wants. Almost always the guy going for that look has a masculinity crisis which certain girls know how to exploit. Hence him larping as an ultramasculine character. Of course it's different if you are actually jacked and alpha. >toxic masculinity If that's how you react to exercise then it's not exercise's fault. You have something deeper to individually deal with. The majority of the population greatly benefits from weightlifting and cardio, with a common benefit being less angry. It's not toxic in the slightest.
Nobody important · 2019-03-14 15:52
>>13065 If you look at fashion trends, jacked up roid rage gym rats have never been popular. It's just now women have started to notice and say "ewww." What men think women want is a fantasy shaped by their watching too much WWE. Women want what they see in fashion magazines. Lumberjack chic is in. Spending all day in the gym to make girls say "ewww gross" is a great plan if you want to socially isolate yourself. Buy some flannel, hair product, stop by the coffee shop, and chat up some ladies while you wait for your soy macchiato.
Eldon Tyrell · 2019-03-14 16:05
>25 years old, supposed to be living my best days of my life lol, stop comparing yourself to people you see at tv btw, dude, if you want girls you should install tinder and go to night clubs, you will never find a girl otherwise >b-but i want a true pure 3d waifu, not a random whore then go watch anime
Nanashi No Gombe · 2019-03-14 19:23
>>13064 there's a difference between masculinity and toxic masculinity. Masculinity: emotionally stable, skilled, methodical, adaptable, and loyal Toxic masculinity: aggressive, stupid, ego-headed, obviously insecure.
Y.T · 2019-03-14 23:30
>>13066 Lol nice strawman. Of course they don't like bodybuilders, but the vast majority of girls like guys who are low bodyfat and fit looking. Also I never even argued that roided up bodybuilders or even jacked guys are 'in'. I just said that stronger guys are the only ones who pull off the lumberjack look, because otherwise it's dead obvious that you're insecure about your masculinity. >women want what they see in fashion magazines I don't think I've ever seen a woman read a fashion magazine. I think you're very out of touch with civilization. Women almost always want classically handsome guys. More than that they want good looking guys, and funnily enough fashion magazines are full of those. >spending all day in the gym Takes an hour 3-4 times a week, not really much effort Do you have any personal success with this image? I know I have with the regular button up shirt/ t shirt look.
Ivan Petrov · 2019-03-15 03:12
>>13072 This is image is my body type. Easily attainable through regular low impact cardio of moderate intensity. For me between 1 and 3 hours a day with 4-8 hours on weekends. Mostly cycling, some running, and moderate upper body work on monkey bars and jungle gyms at playgrounds. Moreover, I wanted to become the image of what I found attractive myself. A certain degree of narcicissm was involved, but I figure, if I embody the traits I want to see in my partner, I am more likely to attract the kind of person, physically, and emotionally I want to spend large portions of my remaining life with.
Marly Krushkhova · 2019-03-15 13:50
>>13077 That body type can be achieved through calorie restriction. No exercise needed.
Ein · 2019-03-15 16:03
>>13064 > toxic water Lol. People who think that water is toxic aren't welcome any day and age.
Trinity · 2019-03-15 16:43
>>13084 That body type can be achieved by not stuffing yourself with garbage and using your legs occasionally. Idk why someone would refer to that as body type, its just a normal body. Im lazy and do nothing but walk and ride on my scooter sometimes, even i dont look fat.
Tequila · 2019-03-16 04:57
>>13086 It's a stupid term considering it just boils down to "don't be an asshole". I wouldn't really have a problem with it if 'toxic femininity' got just as much press, but it doesn't. Even though girls can be very nasty in their own way. >>13089 The guy's like 6'4, I'm fairly certain he must hit the gym twice a week or so to prevent himself looking like a lanklet.
Koichiro · 2019-03-16 05:11
>>12764 Let me say this a different way OP. You are the cause of your own isolation. You even say so in your post. >I workout in silent seclusion among the masses It's like the term wallflower. The term perfectly describes the problem. If you stand against the wall at the party, then you are removing yourself from the party as much as you can while still being there. The big secret is go stand by the punch bowl. Yep, right there in everyone's way. Feels awkward, right? Of course, let people by to have punch, smile at them, say hi. Be brave. Before long, you've started a conversation with someone. Before long more people visiting the punch bowl have joined the conversation because they overheard you two and had to throw in their opinion. Before long you are being the life of the party, and all the ladies want to know, who is that outgoing guy by the punch bowl? Why haven't I ever noticed him before now? Your masculine approach is toxic. You isolate yourself. You hide your emotions. You don't get that chest pain checked out when you're 40. You die early from a preventable cause. You probably even hear "toxic masculinity" as a trigger word which flips you out in a roid rage rather than try to understand what the speaker meant.
Jean Dupont · 2019-03-16 14:06
>>13124 BTW, I tend to disagree with other Lains here on the definition of toxic. I mean it as harmful to yourself, not the people around you. You clearly stated you keep to yourself. idk how that makes you an "asshole" to anyone else.

>>13086 To be fair, there's quite a few places where water sanitation and filtration is dangerously lacking.
