Weird stories
Eldon Tyrell · 2018-12-16 12:06
Does your country/city have any extremely weird stories?
Here in Brazil, there's this murder mystery that hasn't been solved, it's so complex i can't give it justice in a greentext.
> In the early 90's a lot of kids went missing, all of them were 7 years old, some of them went missing on day 7 of the month. No ransom was asked, they were just gone.
> This kid, Evandro, goes missing. The family is desperate, to the point of hiring exoteric people to find him with "magic"
> The guy hired allegedly summons an entity, and asks to drive around town so he can sense the kid
> At 2 or 3 AM he tells them he feels the kid in some isolated place. The family gets spooked and goes back home. The next day the police finds the kid's body in that isolated place.
> His arms, legs and scalp are removed. His skin is burned and rotting, as if he has been dead for a long time and left in the freezer. The father identifies the kid by a birthmark on his back. Nobody else identified the kid, the mother never looked at him, no pictures of his back were taken. An investigator insists there was no birthmark on his back.
> The kid's goes batsoykaf, saying that the mayor's wife and daughter are murderers, that they killed him. He has no proof to back it up.
> Federal police shows up and in a single day the mayor's wife and daughter confess to the crime in this weird tape. They say it was a magic ritual to get their family more political power, and that the people who the family hired to find the kid were the ones who actually did the ritual. They were paid $7000. (At the time this was a lot of money). All of them go to jail.
> A journalist infiltrates that jail, gets caught but asks for an interview anyway. She gets lucky, and gets the interview. The women are terrified, the daughter can barely speak. She says she was raped and tortured, and that's when the federal police got the "confession" out of her.
>Some of the other people died in jail.
There's a lot, a LOT more that happened in this case, it hasn't yet been solved and the mayor's wife/daughter were released from prison in 2016, a judge found them innocent. Turns out the body they found probably isn't from the kid, someone put it there. There were more children missing, and while all suspects were in jail, pieces of clothing belonging to missing children were found, alongside skeletons (that probably don't belong to the children).
I wish i could find an american source covering these murders, it's the most insane investigation i've ever seen.

A UFO that landed in front of a school full of children in broad daylight.
Not that unusual, except heavies showed up later and told the children they had "seen nothing".

Reminds me of 2666. What a wonderful book.
Where I come from we don't have much of that crazy stuff, it's more weird people moving about. Once though me and my friend were out chilling on schoolground during the weekend when no one else is there. It was night and we went to a small playground. On a bench in the middle of the yard a middle aged man of foreign appearance sat with a laptop in his lap and typed. The clock was perhaps 11 pm. Estranged by the man we walked by like nothing happened and made for a corner of a building. After a while we notice he followed us. We walk some more, unusual route and he stills follows us but he has left the laptop unattended by the bench now. Strange as fuarrrk we thought and tried to get out of his sight then ran. I even left a note at home that night if I would disappear by some bizarre turn of events, directed to the police.
Any swedish mysteries?

I really, really wish there was any english source for this.
But there's a podcast about it hitting high numbers, hopefully it will get as big as Serial, then it's just a matter of time before english wikis pop up.

r/nosleep has great stories in general. Just filter by most upvoted if you need something spooky to read, although it's not true crime in any way, it's just really good writers attempting to make something believable.
Cat Mother · 2019-01-10 02:16
OP here, i found a 1992 report on the story. It's obviously outdated, i believe this was back when people legitimately believed the mayor's daughter and wife were responsible.

The really weird thing is i heard a lot of crazy stories about brazil and none from my own country. Well maybe you can count kid getting impaled by wild boar tusk lightly, thinking wew small wound im lucky and then dying from infection of the wound in the woods but not really a weird story just unfortunate.

There's an abandoned Mental Hospital here, creepy AF. People say that it's haunted by the ghosts who were tortured to death inside.
The story "House on Haunted Hill" was based on local stories this place. Gran used to tell us about it around a campfire or while out fishing, shooting the soykaf with gramps. Some people were legit burned alive while strapped down when the place caught fire.
People would go there to do some stupid bravery challenge to sleep the night in the loony bin, and never come back. I visited the place at dusk with some friends. A huge broken pane of glass nearly got my buddy. Dangerous, but weird because in a place like that you'd expect some squatters to have at least removed some of the danger, but the place is empty and spoopy.
There's a haunted rail road track, but it's outside of town. A buss full of school children stalled and got hit by a train there. They say, if you park on the tracks in neutral at night and wait, ghosts of the kids will push you off the tracks. Went on a road trip with some friends and we stopped there on the tracks. 15 minutes, nothing happened. I got out and went to piss in the bushes. While peeing I heard my friends laughing and calling me names. When I zipped and returned I saw the car had started to roll over the tracks. My friends were looking behind the car as the wheels cleared the track yelling, "Lain, stop fuarrrking around, you got us. Come on." But it wasn't me. I had walked a ways up the road to avoid pissing in piles of dead leaves (because: snakes). When they noticed me in front of the car they started shouting, "No Way, What the Hell? How'd you do it?"
They didn't believe me that I hadn't done anything, but I hadn't touched the car at all. We had put baby powder on the car's bumper to see if there were hand-prints, but it had just kind of fallen off in a few places.
We tried to check if the ground was like one of those fun-house tricks where the floor looks straight but it's slanted, but the spirit level showed almost perfectly level, not enough to roll a car. Coulda been some powerful brief gust of wind maybe? But I don't remember feeling anything like that.
I'm certain that spirits are real... I can explain scientifically what's going on with their manifestation, but it's a bit "out there", unless you're super redpilled you wouldn't believe me anyway.
Lain isn't a spirit like that, I don't think, but she could help spirits if she wanted to, some day, if she has the chance to grow be more powerful. And if you think that statement is just some chunibyo BS, then you've not been out the other side of the rabbit hole yet.

So, there's a legend in the place that I live that basically says that in the mid 90s a UFO crashed around the Popocatepetl (A volcano in Puebla) and it was retrieved by the goverment of the US.
Nowadays the Popocatepetl is famous because of the constant sight of UFOs and the high electromagnetic interference that embraces the area.
Also in the towns around the volcano are a lot of UFO statues hidden between the woods, the ones I had seen is one of 4 muscular men holding a saucer and the attached image.
