I want monetize my programs through Manipulation, Mind Control, Persuasion. But I want learn them for using in normal life too but I don't think I can do it. For an example, there is application named Lyft. They use gamification https://www.theguardian.com/business/2018/nov/20/high-score-low-pay-gamification-lyft-uber-drivers-ride-hailing-gig-economy

>>11073 to learn basic communication for starters, read "How to Make Friends and Influence People", it's S.E. 101 if you can't interact with a single person than you can't convince crowds. Second learn about advertising and marketing specifically "Torches of Freedom" is a good start.

>>11078 Thank you for answer. I don't want convince one person, I just want convince crowds. I know it is bad sample but think about social media apps, how they do create social media addicted people? People spend hours in their apps. I can make friends, it is not important for me. But there are issues about them. I don't want lots of them. The only yhing i need is money. and I am looking for it's tools.

You're real slimeball for wanting to do this. That being said, what you're looking for is a dopamine response. Dopamine is the fast-acting reward/compulsion/addiction pleasure chemical. If you create an app that, in exchange for completing some task in not challenging<(here)<gives up before finishing and reward them with: bright colors music small prize etc etc. and just enoughmore task you'll hook a vulnerable portion of the population, assuming you can get enough people to start in the first place.

>>11083 People being "addicted" to social media is an exaggeration, most of the time, it's the same people addicted to gambling. The reason a certain social media site is popular is because everyone else is on it.
Haruyoshi · 2018-11-24 15:35
>>11100 >it's the same people addicted to gambling Which is a serious problem ruining lives and classified as addiction for a good reason.

>>11100 From my understanding this is very true when it comes to e.g. Facebook clicker games, but I think there's more to general social media "addiction" than that. At this point the actual content of social media isn't really your friend's accounts. It's all the little bits of content they decide to repost. To use the meme/gene analogy: this content has been selectively bred to be sharable. It would be very difficult for a single person to outperform the content farm hivemind in this aspect. (For instance, imagine a rational mind trying to come up with a better mind virus than asmr.) To address OP's point more directly, I think the era of powerful leaders and trickster masterminds may be coming to an end. Instead, in order to influence the popular narrative you have to enter into a kind of Faustian pact with the zeitgeist. You do what it wants and in return you have little opportunities to prod it in one direction or another. Actually, it may have always been this way - i.e. the masterminds have always been narrative fiction. I wouldn't really know, but in any event I think the zeitgeist is now more powerful than it ever has been.

>>11111 What is zeitgeist for you? I’m OP and I still wait for resources. I collected something but I am not familiar to English resources

>>11111 But what about when the leaders manipulate the zeitgeist while they are in this 'pact'? People are extremely influenced by the constant stream of advertisement and information.

>>11083 sometimes convincing a crowd is about convincing just one person. If i'm going to be honest I think what you are doing is unethical and further impossible. The examples provided all give something to the user they want. Even that isn't consistent, about as consistent you could get with that is getting people hooked on meth and even then some people wouldn't like the feeling; brain chemistry weird like that. A human can barely consistently control people. You will need an AI more powerful than some of Googles because I think if you want to make it programmed the machine needs to first have a complete profile of the human and I think Google has come closest to that. Even then sometimes they fail, sometimes we know that ad was targeted at us and exactly why it was. That's just the first step too, how you are going to have it manipulate each sort of personality and values in people it comes across is too big for my brain to even comprehend. but again sometimes convincing one person is all it takes. you might not have to do much at all.

Read up on Edward Bernays and his publications. He is Freud's nephew. The things that this man did in the 20th century in terms of marketing and manipulating the masses is disturbing. We really have no control over ourselves. We are all social drones, and even those who realise that they are drones, if they deny it they are fooling themselves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rnJEdDNDsI Interesting documentary about social engineering. Notice a very interesting comment that someone made. >documentaries need to stop with the background music bs. just give the info and I'll come to my own damn conclusions, don't need the bs music trying to convince me that something is bad/good. that's social engineering right there. Social engineering is everywhere, even unintentional engineering which perhaps shouldn't be called engineering but rather be referred to as an influence. External influences are everywhere, and we have no control over them or a way to shut them out. We are so influences by our environment, I wonder just how free we are. Those with the means to take advantage of this vulnerability present in us all are the biggest threat to personal autonomy. Though I fear that our autonomy is nothing more than an illusion, so it doesn't matter whether we are manipulated intentionally by someone or unintentionally by our environment. We have little control either way.
