I've been thinking lately about checking to see if I have Autism or ADHD(or ADD). Yet at the same time when I think about it. It doesn't feel like it will fix anything.
I am against needless medication, and when it comes to theese issues there is no way to "cure" them. For ADHD Adderal (or other meds) exists, but I see them as needless addictions.
And from what I've heard from friends and family most of it comes to knowing you have it and finding ways to negate the negative effects trough routine and practice.
What do you think about the diagnosis of theese illnesses?
Do you think it's worth it to get diagnosed in the long run even though you can't do anything about it?

Hello! I myself am struggling, and am looking for tests. Currently my diagnosis is still a mixed bag it seems, but autism does pop up lol. IMO it's good to have a diagnosis, in the same way that looking at yourself from the angle of others helps. It is just another tool you can use if anything, wah wah manager im autistic please cut me slack or some other bullshit.
I would recommend doing bloodwork and brainscans. Bloodwork for searching for supplements, a lot of the time people's mental bullshitery is intensified even more by lack of resources in the body. And brainscans for the docs to see and judge if anything more fuarrrked up is going on(just in case). Wish you the best!

I know with 98% certainty if I went to a psych, they'd diagnose me as autistic.
This is the opinion of a psych. Who goes to study this? Mostly, people with a little mental illness who are extremely dogmatic about mental illness, despite the fact that the field is unrecognisable from a few decades ago. For instance, in ~2013 or whenever DSM-V came out, 'Aspergers syndrome' ceased to exist, among many other changes.
There are however, true cases of autism, such as extreme low-functioning. You don't really need a psych to tell you when that's happening because it's already pretty obvious, and if it isn't obvious, then it's not really affecting your life and can't properly be called a disorder.
Even if an autism diagnosis could get me some advantage, I have a vendetta against the system. People hide behind 'hate the game not the player' when participants are complicit in upholding the system as valid.

I got 'diagnosed' (busybodies who get paid to act like they know soykaf) adhd in kindergarten or 1st grade... They noticed that I liked playing Sonic The Hedgehog at home instead of doing my homework. That trend never changed. I always aced tests and classwork, but my grades suffered when it came to homework. Because I used MY OWN MIND to figure out WHAT "I" WANT with MY OWN TIME, that is clearly a 'disorder' because it does not prepare me for centuries-outdated factory work (the "real world").
They should really rename ADHD to "I figured out what I like and I don't like doing stupid bullshit disease". I can focus on stuff I like for 600 hrs uninterrupted, focus on what? Can't spend a moment focusing on being slave sorry if that negatively affects my score but I stopped caring a long time ago.
And going on Meth or other stimulants for ADHD leads to Parkinsons.

Are they illnesses ? Does medication help with them ? Does the same medication also help with being a normal user ?
Anyone decently smart who sets his mind to it can get these diagnoses. Its not difficult. If you think its advantageous to you to get one, idk ok go ahead and get one. Personally I think the medical system delenda est.

My response has been posted as a pdf cause it was too long and i cant be bothered to spend more time condensing it and also there was mystery no no words. to hopefully hook you il say that I actually had a great experience with therapy and have went even recently and yet still see huge problems especially with pathologizing and diagnosing.

Dog.. I read your PDF twice now. I have no clue what this is supposed to mean. I am not trying to be mean but the first part is almost suggesting I should commit acts against the government. But not at the same time.
Then you just kind of write about how much you love your therapist.
Did you write this while high or sleepy? There are some good points! Don't get me wrong as bad as it sounds I am not trying to soykaf on you.
