My partner is digitally inclined but we are diverse enough we can talk to each other about our respective specialties. He does VR/Computer Vision/Digital Art. I do systems engineer/clustering/bioinformatics. We compliment our skills nicely. I handle the GPU clustering. He handles the rendering of digital art that gets exhibited some times.

People ITT are exhibiting a marked lack of a sense of humour. OP was obviously taking the piss out of himself and for one, it gave me a chuckle. I'd advise to dispense with any preconceived notions of what Ms. Right will be like. It could be that she won't be interested in most of the things you are at all. Maybe she has a range of interests and only small overlap; that's healthier in fact because it means you get to do things seperately and enjoy things with other people instead of driving each other mad by always being couped up together. Attraction, love, whatever... there's more to it than shared hobbies. Things that matter more are shared beliefs. It's hard to be close to someone whose politics, basic values or philosophy are in sharp contrast to your own.

To get this thread back on track. While there are female hackers out there, there aren't that many. Don't get hung up on finding someone who you have "a lot in common" with. Go out, meet people, give everyone a chance. You might be pleasantly surprised.
