Comfy Feels Thread 2.0

Delilah · 2017-09-11 13:30
Comfy feels thread 2.0! Back from the dead! As a response to all the negativity in the world right now why don't we talk about the things that make us comfortable and happy? Let's try to think about the good things in our lives, and if things aren't going so well let's remember the good times. I'll start. > Driving my car in the early fall evening with the window down > Having a tea and brewing soykaf by myself alone in the office early in the morning > Going to meet my friends for beers and shenanigans in the 'big city' > Talking to people I love even if I don't know how they feel > Updating my distro and checking out all the new features > Cracking a programming problem on the first go > Figuring out the cause of a stubborn error and moving on > Going to bed after a day of hard work > (returning from the previous thread) touching someones body under a loose fitting t-shirt > That feeling you get in your stomach when you're with someone you really care about > Playing a comfortable video game before bed (my favorite right now is 'bravely default') > Really vibing with an anime or a manga and feeling uplifted afterwards > Figuring some soykaf out at work that none of my coworkers could understand > Going over to a friends house, listening to alex jones and playing mariocart

I visited my hometown this summer. A lot of things have changed since I have left for a bigger city, but damn did the nostalgia hit me hard when I were there. Strolled the streets for a bit, checked on some of the places I regularly visited and hanged out at. Went to the town's graveyard to "visit" my grandmother and my homeroom teacher from the elementary school, then roamed about the graveyard territory reading the dates written on the tombstones while thinking about stuff. Looked in on to my father. His house really reminded me about my early childhood years. It all was pretty comfy, but I did get bitter and nostalgic in a melancholic way in the end, thinking how things should have better stayed the way they were and not have changed.

>curling up in bed with the lights off and the heat going while a blizzard blows outside and everything's dark >those endless days during childhood spent imagining in the woods and falling asleep on the couch and being amazed when you woke up in your bed the next morning >days in the late fall when it's getting colder every day and people don't stay out as much >sleeping in a hotel room and listening to the AC drone

>the feeling of just letting drones and ambient tracks fill your room as you relax after a hard day >feeling the breeze in your hair as you let your skates carry you >finally finishing that project that you wanted done and loving it >the sweet release when you realize what is keeping you down and out and you finally feel much lighter >exploring an abandoned area with your friends and seeing the world in a different light than usual

> Driving my car on hot summer day after evening spent on the beach. > Opening window on a train ride and watching as world passes by the window and listening to train noises. > Spending whole day hanging out with friends, smoking weed, drinking beer and figuring out next thing to do. > After work nap, when evening sun warms up my bed and I can't be bothered to do anything more today > Waking up too early and having plenty of time in the morning to just eat breakfast and chill. > Online chatting with a good friend for a few hours into late night.

>>3321 Late night rides downtown are pretty cozy. This is a pretty nice thread. It's left me frustrated since I can't think of my go to cozy memory or feeling. I tend to distract myself instead which I hate.

>>3345 Well, >living abroad in a green rainy environment with people who smile back at you >meeting someone down to earth and laid back >realising things have been thought of instead of just done with no thought what so ever, like where I live. >>3746 Yes. This is my oasis. There is a part of me that is missing, and I usually don't think about it, but this place reminds me that it is gone. Kind of a bittersweet feeling really, but also lets me appreciate things in a different light for a while.

>>4081 >I wish I was a filthy normal user who understands what are you guys talking about in this thread. >tfw over half of these posts are about the experience of solitude or interacting via the wired instead of IRL maybe you should just go exploring late at night or where nobody is around, it costs only your time, and it can be quite refreshing

>>4067 >Buzzing orange streetlights There is a super loud transformer by a highway intersection that I just can't get enough of. I have so many memories of sneaking out of my friend's house at ~4am, taking the ~1 hour walk home through the empty streets as the sun just barely starts to come up as I make my way home. I need to relive this feeling when it finally gets warmer outside..
