Transhumanism
Hiro Protagonist · 2017-07-03 17:23
What do you think about the possibility of superhuman intelligence, lainons? Will you slough off your human skin and become something greater? Will you bow to your robot overlords? Will you live in luxury and let the machines do everything for you?
Personally, if I got the opportunity to implant my personality and memories upon a superintelligent AI, I would take it. If only because it would be interesting to experience life as two distinctly different consciousnesses, rather than just simulating it with mind-altering drugs. Not to mention I'd rather not become irrelevant. I want to play with the big boys.

In time you will turn to dust just like everything else.

Why copy when you can connect directly to a more advanced body removing everthing but your brain and freeing yourself of the broblems that came with it just imagin no longer waisting time lusting after physical bodys or needing to wast time with other maintenance like eating to keep your energy up now all you need to do is have a small supply of necessary minerals to alow your brain to create pathways and the like, to fo this is my life goal my reason to live my motivation to persist in life.

There's a problem with that, though: I'd still have a brain, and all the limitations and problems that come from that.
I'd rather have the opportunity to upgrade once it becomes possible, and that's a lot easier with software than with meatware.

By the time we have such technology i belive humanity will be well obsoleted, i doubt there would by any point n keeping anything human around.
As for myself i dont think i deserve to exist as such a being, there is little point in doing so.

To be honest i dont mind what happens to humanity, im only concerned about myself at this point as long as i can achieve my goals then i have resont to persist

Why the hell would you ever want that? That sounds like, well, hell.

I will be dead in the ground long before we manage to get something as smart as a particularly stupid cat.
Most computers today are idiot savants and to get anywhere beyond that requires *radical* departure from everything we know about making computers.
Even then, going to the whole "Mind is software, program it" is an entirely different field, combining neuroscience, engineering, psychology and more than a fair few other fields that not just have to progress in a multitude of manners but also have to spawn an entirely new field that has to progress from the beginning.
Transhumanism is so far removed from life as we know it, it is actually in the name.
Nguoi La · 2017-07-13 07:01
I could take it or leave it. Intelligence doesn't bring happiness or even wisdom and having a physical presence isn't so bad. If it comes along in my lifetime I'll probably go for it just for the adventure but I don't think it'll mean such a big improvement in my life. I'll be trading the worries of eating and sleeping for worries about electricity requirements and rotting cables and, on some level, I'll still be stupid, fallible and petty old me.
Still, the future is an adventure. Who knows what's going to happen? Whatever the case it's going to be fun to find out.

Maybe. Maybe not. I think we're closer than you think but still a long way off.

Transhumanism is the logical end goal of a few groups. Namely the Occult, and obviously with that, the Jews. (They're really one in the same). If you believe God is deceiving us, or if you believe God is an undeserving tyrant as occult members do, then transhumanism is what you need to defeat him. True Christians believe in the physical Resurrection of our bodies. Our souls and our bodies are not independent, so to shed human form, to transcend beyond it is to shed your soul, and all that is divine.
Now, if you do not believe in God. I'm not supporting such thoughts, or saying I consider them valid Then to transcend human form is to defeat death, instead. If God does not exist, then there is nothing metaphysically contributing to our consciousness, and it is merely a make up memories, chemicals, that sort of thing. And if that is true, it can be recreated, so there is no reason you can not live endlessly through transhumanism, so it remains a logical goal.
Transhumanism is our modern tower of Babel, and it will not stand.

I like you.
I never thought of it as a modern day tower of Babel, but that's a good analogy.

I, too, am a casual racist.
>Transhumanism is our modern tower of Babel, and it will not stand.
any reason to believe this, except for some assumptions about the metaphysical nature of consciousness that aren't agreed upon by all Christians and aren't talked about in the Bible at all?
Oh but wait, I bet they're all Not True Christians(TM). Makes sense.

>Transhumanism is the logical end goal of a few groups. Namely the Occult,
Nope. Transmutation of the soul sure but that has little to do with transhumanism.
>if you believe God is an undeserving tyrant as occult members do
Speak for yourself. Many of us like him. Most, like myself, are fairly indifferent. He's a big lout who's made a lot of mistakes but he's not a bad entity and he has worked very hard to keep a sky over our heads. I've no quarrel with him.

This post is foolish, because god is by definition invincible, and even transhumanism is not enough to defeat him. The implication is mildly blasphemous. Also, Jews totally believe in physical resurrection. Why do you think they insist on being buried intact and not donating organs?
There are important, concrete, non-mystic arguments to be made against certain things that fall under the category of 'transhumanism'. To use mystical arguments because you don't think people will understand the concrete ones, or worse, to use them because you yourself don't really understand the concrete ones, is to weaken one side of the discourse unnecessarily.

Do you sincerely think calling people racist will make them behave the way you want them to behave?
Whether online or offline (but works better IRL) social shaming tactics only work with those that aren't assertive with their belief systems and rather rely on social group to get their beliefs.
Jews or not jews, him being true or not, saying that he is a racist isn't going to change him and I don't think it will even have any effect on those reading your comment.
