For some reason, painkillers don't work on me.
Tramadol has no effect at all. Codeine doesn't work, morphine doesn't work. I'm too scared to try H.
Does anyone have any idea why this might be? I only get the negative effects, like itching and dilated pupils.
Amphetamine also doesn't work on me

I quickly compared Wikipedia pages of these substances and my wild guess is a mutation in μ-opioid receptors that makes it impossible for the substances to bind with the receptor.
But take me with a grain of salt, I'm not an expert.
Have you tried weed?

Also continuation:
>Tramadol
opioid
>Codeine
opioid
>Amphetamine
Not opioid but:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphetamine
>Amphetamine also has a slight analgesic effect and can enhance the pain relieving effects of opioids.
>H
Is likely not going to work because it is also an opioid.
Try a painkiller that is not an opioid.

So OP, to put it simply, you likely have a mutation in some gene coding an opioid receptor that makes it impossible for the drug to bind to the receptors and inhibit pain.

There are genes that determine your response to opioid analgesics as such as codeine morphine, tramadol and presumably others, they are CYP2D6 and OPRM1 and some others that affect pain medications are CYP1A2, CYP2C19, and
CYP2D6. Get a pharmacogenetics test done.

Can't you use that? Maybe some extracts or oils.

I may be same. I once was prescribed hydrocodone for a cough and I took more than told in what I think I recall being 15mg of the hydrocodone itself setting aside the acetaminophen/paracetamol content (thus why I limited it to where I did is the paracetamol) which I've read reports on Erowid for some people being enough for point of trouble breathing with that much. Didn't stop my cough, had no trouble breathing, and it didnt even relieve mild back pain I had. However I felt warm and fuzzy when I was at a hospital for a surgery in which my case I was put under but I dont know what they injected me with in an IV drip before surgery so i cant be sure it was an opioid or something else since this was just oral surgey.
Unidentified · 2021-10-08 09:23
is straight opium worth a try?

>However I felt warm and fuzzy when I was at a hospital for a surgery
If you're sure it wasn't morphine then it was probably a benzo.
>>9283
If OP really wants an opioid I think they should try kratom first. The vast array of alkaloids in kratom (and possibly opium) might possibly override whatever is fuarrrked with his metabolism or receptors.
>>9265
Gabapentin, benzos, dissociatives (any NMDA antagonists should have profound pain relief effects. eg. DXM ketamine nitrous), weed, and of course tylenol + NSAIDs.

I had to look it up and apparently only three drug classes are used in oral surgery. Opioids, benzos, and a drug called propofol. Benzos are most common from what I read now so it may have been. I can't rule out opioids or propofol because I was in a hospital not a dentist office. I was also given a gas after if I recall right so it has to be something that can be combined with what else they gave me whatever that was.
Tequila · 2021-10-09 03:52

Isn't propofol part of the drug mix that killed Michael Jackson?
The other I was going to say was barbiturates but benzos have almost completely replaced them and are far harder to die on.

Hey lainons, getting some more acid soon. Currently only other psych on hand is 4-AcO-DMT but the hardest I've ever tripped on either only included hedonistic euphoria, morphing, and laughing. I even tried eyes closed mediation but never got any really cool fractals or internal dreamscapes.
Should note I was on Zoloft for about a month before deciding to cut all antideprsssants out of my regimen 3 weeks ago.
Trying out 4-AcO microdosing too, been having a bit of success as a mood enhancher/antidepressant that I've been taking with fladrafinil.
TLDR What's the key to success to having a life changing acid or (in my case synthetic) mushroom trip?
Specifically I'd like to get over my crippling social anxiety, isolation, and motiviation issues.
Jet Black · 2021-10-09 04:17

Yeah that's the major one. Propofol has to be administered very carefully with a machine to control it. My memory isnt clear enough if i had something like that or just a normal IV bag. I dont recall the fluid being milky so it wouldnt have been propofol if it wasnt from what Ive read it's supposed to look like.

I think you shouldn't care much about what killed a drug-addict millionaire who did multiple plastic surgeries.
He was a ticking bomb and died because of his soykafty lifestyle. If you really care about side effects of the drug, look for toxicity research, LD50 doses, etc.
>>9286
>op here. i have actually tried kratom, it was eh. i got the famous opiod nod though
I told you earlier to try something that's not an opioid. If the receptors are fuarrrked, there's no way around it.
Terzibashjian · 2021-10-14 21:28
op here. instead of making a new thread and clogging the board up ill just make a new post here.
Does anyone have any idea why amphetamines don't work on me? I'm not ADD/ADHD or anything.
Other stims like coffee and coke work though.

Might be the same thing as before.
>The full profile of amphetamine's short-term drug effects in humans is mostly derived through increased cellular communication or neurotransmission of dopamine, serotonin, norepinephrine, epinephrine, histamine, CART peptides, endogenous opioids
>Acute amphetamine administration in humans increases endogenous opioid release in several brain structures in the reward system.
This is still Wikipedia but I'm no pharmacist, just a beginner biochemist.
>I'm not ADD/ADHD or anything.
Are you sure? Do you have autism or do you have red hair?
I still think that's related to the opioid receptors because it seems unlikely you could have more than one problem of this nature.
Guthrie · 2021-10-15 11:13

Are you an impulsive retard? Do you feel restless/anxious if you aren't doing something you intently enjoy? Do you have an unreliable sense of time? Are you self-centered and have low empathy, but sometimes get extremely emotional or have a low frustration tolerance? Do you act or mask your behavior around people?

Getting an ADHD diagnoses has to get you on a list somewhere, it's basically a covert fledgling psychopath test. ADHD has extremely strong links to pychopathy, anti-social personality disorder and criminality, so somebody is watching.

How much did you take? When I was opiate naive, taking less was more euphoric than large doses. Too much just made me a nauseous, sedated and itchy with no euphoria.

Just a little info:
Opioids don’t dilate pupils, they contract them.
Amphetamine however does dilate the pupils.
The real answer is that nobody knows why certain drugs do/don’t affect certain people in certain ways. Everybody’s brain is different.
Honestly if I were you I’d be happy. Opioids are among the most addictive class of substances.
I, for example, get really bad weed highs basically all the time. I get twitches, thought loops, intense discomfort. This has kept me from getting addicted to weed and being a useless Stoner like many of my friends became.
In the same way you are protected from addiction to opioids that can take away all joy in your life.
