I don't like cigarettes in pack or vape, but rolled cig delicious and pleasant, especially after bottle of wine or weed. I know that it harmful, just don't do it regular. I like tastes with cherry.

Straights taste hollow

Nah, this doesn't work. You'll find yourself smoking more and more eventually.
Just never start consuming nicotine. It gives you nothing and is one of the unhealthiest drugs out there. Do whatever you want but don't try cigs and heroin

Nicotine by itself isn't as bad as tobacco so may want to rephrase that. Nicotine doesn't have the proven cancer risk tobacco does odd as it sounds. It still can cause vascular damage though but Im actually not sure where that ranks compaired to something like caffeine in comparison.

No, that's just wrong. Coronary heart disease is one of the most common death causes for smokers and its caused by the effect of nicotine, not smoke. Nicotine causes all kinds of problems, you have to keep in mind that it is a natural pestizide so it is poisonous.

I think I will try tobacco for the first time in the following days, will probably settle for Pueblo, I don't know how to choose a rolling tobacco but I once met a 60 year old hippie while camping and he was chainsmoking Pueblo and he was a really cool guy I thought I will buy this too.
Any tips for rolling for the first time? I assume it is a good idea to put in very little in the beginninv and smoke only once per week to not get addicted to nicotine fast. Anything else?

Just so you know, Pueblo is very dry, it's one of those brands where they recommend adding moisture yourself - you can use orange peel or a hydrostone, but I also know people who just smoke it out the packet.

>Any tips for rolling for the first time?
This might go without saying, but use a filter. Your cigs will be smoother, easier to smoke, and easier to roll. Getting good at rolling takes a bit of practice but generally you want to focus on getting the part near the filter formed and sealed correctly. Getting the right amount of tobacco is also important. This is how you control how hard the draw is and how quick it burns.

You can add some herbs for flavor, mint or lavender is great.

In a harm reduction sense using a water pipe is the least bad way to smoke something. The water filters out some carcinogens found in smoke.

Just buy unflavored loose leaf tobacco and use that. If you want to buy a water pipe you can get one for cheap from a smoke shop.

Forgot: Also the ritual of smoking. The hand to mouth. Socializing with the other smokers. This applies to everything, not just cigs. That smoking ritual addiction will hook you on anything from cigs to meth. Yes, meth per se is highly addicting. But even on top of its unnatural dopamine dump, meth users are generally in consensus that smoking it adds its own brand of fiendishness.
Take it from someone who started vaping for the (paltry) stimulation and socializing -- it's not worth it. I don't mean that like how people say it about real drugs that feel awesome but ruin your life. I mean it's trash and you'll just spend years kicking an addiction that never did soykaf for you in the first place. If you must try nicotine then do it with something you can just stick in your mouth like the pouches or snus. Don't construct yourself a whole little ritual addiction.

Yeah that's my point, it doesn't really do anything for you. It doesn't get you anything resembling high unless your idea of getting high is being less irritable for a while (surprise: you'll end up needing to smoke to not be restless and irritable). It can vaguely enhance enjoyment of food and activities that you already enjoyed just fine without an $8/pack addiction. The benefits, so to speak, are peripheral and hardly exclusive.
>You don’t start smoking because you like to smoke, any more than anyone starts drinking because they like the taste of flat warm frat party beer. Smoking itself is disgusting and carcinogenic—and it causes most first-time smokers to hack and puke. I knew that as well as anyone else who started after 1964, when the Surgeon General’s Report on Smoking and Health confirmed what both physicians and tobacco companies had known for at least 20 years: Smoking is deadly.
>You start neither because of the danger nor in spite of it. The actual, physical danger of smoking is incidental, and feels somewhat inapplicable, to a child; it is the aura of danger you want. Public service announcements have nothing on film noir and the femme fatale: the black-and-white streetlight, the cupped hand, the click of a Zippo, the flicker of faces, the intake of breath. You want danger not as in cancer, but as in Bogart and Brando, Dietrich and Deneuve. You stand out in the parking lot with your foot on the fender of somebody’s car, a pack rolled up in your sleeve, and right then you’re Audrey Hepburn and Rizzo from Grease, you’re the Marlboro Man and the next James Dean.

>I regret nothing. Every cigarette I’ve ever smoked was a good cigarette,” he writes—and his explanation that something physically bad for you can also be psychologically good for you. “I’ve smoked because I was glad and I’ve smoked because I was depressed. I’ve smoked out of loneliness and out of friendship, out of fear and out of exuberance. Every cigarette that I’ve ever smoked served a purpose—they were a signal, medication, a stimulant or a sedative, they were a plaything, an accessory, a fetish object, something to help pass the time, a memory aid, a communication tool or an object of meditation.

This doesnt make up for the fact that its highly addictive causing anxiety when not smoking.
Also not to mention the mess people make with cigarettes, one ciggy butt contaminates 60l of ground water.
I got a ecig, but i havent used it in years since the battery broke and the coils are flaky too, also liquids are expensive.
I had thought to make somehow a method to filter out nicotine trough water.
Imo people would do a lot better if they just smoked weed instead.

substance. dry blows away in the wind, flees your thumb while attempting to roll. tastewise is kino for rolling splifs.
best is: no additives (pueblo has this), little to no pieces of uncut tobacco (pueblo has this), not dry, definitely not cut so small + so dry that it is powdery, and low in tar (unless you like heavy rolling tobacco). I smoke DRUM, which is a brand of Aldi gone general market, midrange in price but top of midrange flavor.
the process of making tobacco is:
harvest, sun-dry, cut, additives, toast. all but the sun-dry (to my best knowledge) steps are discernable in mass-produced tobacco. then there's rolling which is a whole other boat.
I also recommend starting with rizzla blue or mascotte ultralight, so you don't habituate to lazy rolling or smoking more paper than necessary.
Aristóteles Amadópulus · 2021-07-16 15:32
i dont have any weird judgement about any way of doing it and have done some research. I smoke personally, first smoked camels, then light blue spirits, then newport reds, and now marlboro reds. During various periods I also rolled my own, my favorite tobacco is bali shag. Still is despite just buying cigarettes, it has this weird musty wet dog taste I oddly really like. I also used to smoke hookah a lot as I had friends that had one, I have not done but ive seen people do this stuff called "dokha" as well. Its a super strong tobacco one friend loved, like theyd hit it out of a bong and be good for a few hours despite being a smoker. I avoided it cause I hate being nauseous, and I frequently heard nausea was a side effect. Not only did I hear it, but someone took a hut of it once thinking it was mostly weed when it was loaded with mostly dokha, and projectile vomited all over me. Was not even upset, just thought "yeah not interested". lastly, every now and then I get clove cigarettes and cigars and dont inhale them to kinda satisfy oral fixation/have a "smoke break" and get me SOME nicotine. It helps space out my actual smoke breaks when im going through some soykaf.
Ive also vaped inbetween here and there. First with a juul and then now occasionally il get the disposable ones. I only really havent done any kind of oral tobacco, but I dont think theres anything wrong with it over cigarettes. In fact im bringing this up because I recently wanted to look into harm reduction regarding nicotine, on the surface all you will ever find is that vaping and oral tobacco are "just as bad". Again as a cigarette smoker, this made no sense to me considering nicotine isnt what makes tobacco dangerous. So I did a deeper dive and what I gathered is that with vaping the health risks are in fact largely known and it is still not as dangerous as cigarettes. The main danger in fact is usually that coils do misfire at some point, or get worn, and this is when the "your breathing in toxic metals!" becomes relevant. However you are breathing in far more toxic things and guaranteed every single time with cigarettes and even most "roll your own" tobacco. Its just so odd because without digging deeper the internet will literally go "vaping is JUST as bad, all smoking is bad, no nuance sorry period". Imagine any other substance being like that and how fuarrrked that would look. Like "If you do heroin its all bad so you might as well do it by slamming a dirty dull rig into your arm and shooting up". People immediately would call that soykaf out, but with nicotine its weirdly all under the surface unless its gum or patches, which by the way have like a worse success rate for quitting than AA does for curing alcoholics.
And furthermore oral tobacco without a doubt is safer too. The oral cancers are far less common and also more treatable and detectable than throat or lung cancer. Mind you Il repeat, I smoke cigarettes still, im not saying any of this and I didnt look into any of this to rationalize the way I use tobacco. I objectively do it the most dangerous way, because I like having the break in my day of a smoke break too much and I also want to quit eventually. And the one downside to vapes is that I do end up consuming waaaay more nicotine because I end up doing it more often as I dont have to step outside. I imagine same for oral tobacco, but I avoid that because it seems like itd give me nausea and its not what I "grew up with" as well. However if you want to make nicotine a habit, from what I researched, vapes and smokeless tobacco options such as chew/dip/snus whatever will pose the least danger. And its not talked about openly. I dont think/care if its a conspiracy I think its mainly past anti smoking campaign success resulting in people flooding any questions asking whats the least harmful with non answers of "all bad equally". It could also be some big tobacco thing to keep people smoking cigarettes, I just again dont care and thats not my war here.
Its not that its wrong that its "all bad" its just that doesnt keep anyone safer if they are already addicted to nicotine and dont plan on stopping soon. And without a doubt vapes and oral tobacco are less harmful, even if the worst of potential long term vaping side effects ends up being true.

More accurate than you'd think. Most drug and alcohol users who smoke will have less success with smoking cessation than with their "primary" addiction. Abysmal overall success rates which only opiates can hold a candle to.
Additionally, prior to the epidemic of toxic syntha-dope, heroin was not as lethal as many made it out to be. Most deaths back in the day being newbies to the drug, weekend warriors, and relapsed (and thus unprotected by tolerance) chronic users. Compare those old death rates to the rates of cardiovascular disease, COPD, and tobacco-related cancers, and cigs don't look all that much better.
Let's not forget nontrivial cancer risk facing all sorts of people in proximity to cigarette smoke, and now we're talking about a drug which literally produces a *hazardous environment*.

OK holy soykaf, I just tried it, here's how it went:
I didn't use nicotine for about three years, and I picked a snus that is, as the vendor told me, "a bit on the lighter side". I put it in, went for a short, relaxed walk. For the first twenty minutes, it went well, I had a nice, strong buzz, walked slowly, got home, and then soykaf went down the drain real fast. Sweating, nausea, shakiness, typical symptoms of nicotine poisoning. Had to vomit after approx. 35 minutes after putting in the pouch, which I took out at the 25 minute mark. Still shaky 45 minutes after removal, started even though I started drinking water immediately after coming home. Had to lay down for 2 hours, before the shakiness went away. Body temperature normalized 150 minutes after removal.
My conclusion: I have a strong intolerance for nicotine, and probably cannot ingest it in any dose. Guess I drop it completely, at least I still got booze.
