The effects of Marijuana in high THC strains

Vandenbroek · 2020-02-21 04:01
In 2019 I had an extremely traumatic experience while under the influence of a high THC strain of Marijuana. I consumed an edible gummy of highly potent THC and didn't consider the consequences. This may sound ridiculous and absurd but I absolutely developed a mental condition under a THC induced trance related to the video game Undertale. I was playing the game and the final boss of the neutral route, Flowey triggered something within me. While in my stoned stupor, I somehow thought that the boss was a real threat to my person and would end my life in a bloody cacophony of viscera and mayhem. If you've held with me for this long, thanks, for I am truly affected by this experience. I am committed daily to take Risperidone (anti psychotic) and Cipralex for my Psychosis and Depression for this game has truly affected my life. I know this sounds stupid and lame but I AM still on this medication and am affected by this experience. Just wondering what Lainchan thinks

>THC made me crazy sounds like you need to smoke a joint instead of doing hard drugs.
Terzibashjian · 2020-02-21 04:07
Seriously, what is up with these "marijuana made me crazy" threads that pop up on the regs Is this meme ѕһіt

>>5278 I believe it, Undertale is pretty intense.

Videogames and thc is no joke, next time play a game that doesnt fuarrrk up your head.

Why didn't you just try to use CBD oil to see if it reverses the effect any before getting on an antipsychotic a class of psych meds that is pretty serious. Was it that bad? Logically if THC caused the problem a drug doing something more akin to the opposite could possibly help it but at this point with the Risperidone I don't know what you should do, you would have to discuss it with your doctor or psychiatrist. https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamapsychiatry/fullarticle/2697762 I have warry feelings on using Risperidone as a first line treatment except in severe cases due to the negative effects it has on people using it. You can't just abruptly stop antipsychotics either that can be dangerous. They have to be weaned off.

Are you under 25? The brain is still developing until this age. There exists peer-reviewed proof that weed can damage your brain development. If you take cannabis under this age you are endangering yourself. No evidence exists for any harmful effects to adults over this age though so smog the weed erryday fellow adults ;-DDDDDdd

Sometimes our experiences are real, at least to us. My honest opinion is that our "true" reality is just overlapping projections of our subjective opinions of what reality truly is. This is in my opinion why double slit electron experiment works as it does under the "observer" compared to electron acting like a fuarrrking dumb particle on its own. Our perceptions actively shape reality by destroying the quantum uncertainty and creating reality that is most advantageous to us. This is why media and politics try to shape the general mainstream concensus on information and why anything out of that norm is shunned and demonized. Your reality is true but only to you OP. Your mind can kill you if you believe it is true. Videogames are a good reality simulators in that it hijacks our emotional centres and makes us immersed into the simulation. Good gamers are usually correlated with high IQ which I would rationalize as having the ability to adapt to simulation of reality so that they can exploit it and change it more effectively to their own liking. You feel really strong emotional connection to the game Undertale which is one of the reasons why it became popular in the first place. Game mechanics aren't really anything new but storytelling is so enticing it makes you forget in the "real" simulation we are living IRL. Be humble and be thankful OP, that is all of advice I can give to you. Good luck.

>>5289 >This is in my opinion why double slit electron experiment works as it does under the "observer" compared to electron acting like a fuarrrking dumb particle on its own. This happens without any human present to witness the outcome of the experiment. An "observer" in quantum mechanics means literally anything big enough that quantum effects are negligible.

OP is it possible it was a synthetic cannabinoid instead of THC? Did you have caffeine with it too? Caffeine acts as a modulator of cannabinoid receptors and alters the high >>5288 That's actually pop psychology BS. Even as a baby the brain is fully formed although not very efficient. From cradle to grave the brain is always rewiring for optimization and forming new memories and skills. It does wire new connections easier when younger but that stops way before 25. The age 25 comes from an average of how long it takes before myelenation is completed but people with mental illness or just under prolongued stress don't have full myelenation. Why a number even exists at all is for political not scientific reasons and because many people stagnate in life experiences. By then everyone is done with formal education, many are in a full time career and a long term relationship and rarely ever use their vacation time or do anything that new or unexpected just routine. How THC can trigger psychosis or schizophrenia in some people is genetic based not age based. The age related effects have to do with memory.

>>5287 OP here. I have discussed this with my psychiatric help worker. She mostly said to just put this experience behind me as just an "experience" but i still think about this almost every day.
Vandenbroek · 2020-02-26 03:46
>>5287 I haven't tried CBD since the diagnosis of my Psychosis but I feel like it would be non harmful to me. I was smoking highly potent strains of THC at the time of my traumatic experience so maybe CBD wouldn't affect me as much
Yuki Nagato · 2020-02-26 03:47
>>5324 CBD isn't psychoactive in the same way as THC, you'll be fine,
Neuromancer · 2020-02-26 06:32
>>5324 CBD does basically opposite as THC at the receptpr level though that's an oversimplification. Basically for some people THC acts like a psychotic but how it's mellowed out is the CBD which acts like a type of antipsychotic. I'm not sure it's best idea now or not since there always is a theoretical interaction with your Risperidone but I've not personally heard of one before. From what you describe >>5323 it sounds like you may need cognitive behavioural therapy to stop focusing on that event but alternatively you could try mindfulness meditation.
Jean Dupont · 2020-02-26 08:49
>>5288 It only inhibits the amygdala growth and only if you do it constantly during your entire adolescence. They don't even know how the brain copes with the smaller amygdala size. Humans are supposed to breed is why we are 'unstable' until age 25. Stability is stagnation. Learn what humans are already people.
Hououin Kyouma · 2020-03-08 20:27
>>5323 What you experienced was just your brain trying and failing to properly interpret stuff while intoxicated. Many people have had really bad trips, and it can scar you. I'd suggest you take it easy, try doing other things, chilling out when you think about it and it'll go away eventually. If you panic it'll only bring more panic and negative feelings, which will feed into the feedback loop, making it harder to erase it from your brain. Just stay calm, explore your thoughts and let them go.

>>5278 to be honest, undertale is a game that always tries to pull the rug out from under you. I honestly got spooked when I got called out by the game for killing the first boss/not boss, reloading and taking the pacifist route later. It was pretty stupid of you to play it while high though. Your mind is weak. Please never touch psychedelics in your life.
Acid Burn · 2020-04-18 00:55
>>5705 Man I really hated that whole moralising "game decisions with emotional consequences" fad that was happening for a few years back then. Like it's a virtual experience, a form of escapism: people don't learn ethics from gaming in the exact same way that FPS games don't really turn kids into school shooters. I have enough moral quandaries and consequences in my real life. That's where I learn. I don't want to deal with that asinine, pretentious soykaf in a videogame. So sanctimonious. It was fun and interesting and well-made aside from that, though. And I don't mean to say games shouldn't have deeper meanings or emotional impact at all. Just don't try to do it in such a ham-fisted way I guess.
Special Agent Bob · 2020-04-18 02:08
>>5278 The experience itself was traumatic for you, but most likely not permanent. I've had similar experiences. I would stay away from things like high thc pot or just drugs and caffeine all together and get into a healthy lifestyle. If the psychotic symptoms dont improve you should go see a doctor. Best of luck to you lainon.

>>5278 Do you think it's wise to consume more drugs when a previous one triggered a psychosis?
Sabo Engle · 2020-05-17 19:14
>>5280 synthetic THC is no joke to be honest. maybe OP tried this soykaf?
