Decided To Try A New Drinking Game

HELIOS · 2019-03-11 07:11
Me and my mates were bored last night and decided to try a new drinking game. Our old standby had been to watch The Big Lebowski and sip white russians every time the word "dude" was spoken. Fun as this had been, we had grown tired of the film and were short of the necessary mixers to make cocktails anyway. So, armed only with vodka, we settled on browsing Lainchan and taking a shot every time a wild Lain appeared. One mate remarked, "It's such a slow board. How bad could it be?" I will tell you just how bad it could be. Now, two blokes that I have known since childhood are dead. They didn't even make it past midnight. The first collapsed just one hour into the challenge, the second fell shortly thereafter. A third acquaintance, who we usually don't hang out with and just happened to be in town that night, barely survived but is presently balled up in the corner of my flat covered in his own vomit, nearly catatonic, and mumbling, "present day, present time" over and over again, only pausing to laugh ever so faintly in the most sinister way imaginable. This is strange, as he had never seen Serial Experiments Lain before and has no way of knowing the significance of the phrase "present day, present time". It is as if he somehow picked this up through telepathic osmosis after repeatedly viewing Lain's ghostly visage. If by some miracle he survives, he will surely be in need of a kidney transplant or be resigned to spending the rest of his life tethered to a dialysis machine. Perhaps while committed to an insane asylum. If only he had kept to his dormitory and did not come to visit for the weekend, a weekend he may now not live to see through. My head is throbbing with unimaginable ferocity. The slightest of sound pierces my ears like a thousand Alisus screaming in unison. My blurred vision is beginning to fail. I'm sure I have critically fatal alcohol poisoning as well. My cell phone's battery has only 1% remaining and I haven't even strength enough to get out of bed and reach for the charger. So, here I lie in what will almost certainly be my deathbed, surrounded by the corpses of my dearest friends, and a near stranger who is hanging on by a thread as he slowly descends further and further into madness. I would call emergency services for help but instead I am using the last of my cell charge to make this post and issue a warning to others. If I should not make it, I want to wish you all well and hope that you do not repeat our mistake. Just take the tide pod challenge instead. It is a much safer way to pass the time. I don't know what we were thinking. Lainchan is a comfy place but there was just too much Lain to love. Let us all love Lain but, as with all things, in moderation.
