Fly Amanita

Anyone tried it? I heard it can give some nice trips, and also it's legal pretty much everywhere. Thoughts?
Dozer · 2018-12-10 23:07
it's also poisonous

Amanita trips are incredibly edgy. If you have no experience with deliriants or don't find them worth consuming, agaric mushrooms will do you no favor. To avoid unnecessary stress on the liver/kidneys, one should dry and let them age for a bit. Ibotenic acid, prominently contained in fresh material, is less psychoactive and more toxic than it's decarboxylation product muscimol. The latter one is almost unchangedly discarded with urine, therefore one should drink the own piss a while after consumption. If you are put off by such practice, you shouldn't do amanitas, as the toll on your detox system wont be worth the experience. Psychotropic effects are similar to DPH DXM combo, yet very distinctive. You feel lighter but also groggy. Stuff typical for dissociatives like illusions of distance and size can occur. Drowsiness will increase with time leading to prolonged daydreaming, pondering and eventually somnolence. Aftereffects might include yawning, tiredness, headache and abnormalities in circulation and blood pressure. Serotonin levels are affected, so be mindful with use of further CNS modulators!

I've tried amanita muscaria and amanita pantherina (the brown ones) on two seperate occasions. The pantherina was the only one doing it for me, though I was afraid of consuming larger quantities of the muscaria to produce the same results. Anyway, the trip was a light one. A bit like being drunk but clearer in your head as well as some kind of increased bodyload like in LSA. It is something I want to do again as they are growing in abundances where I live, both sorts. Felt no real side effects as I recall, maybe a bit refreshed afterwards. As I've read, if you shimmer or "cook" them in the oven (don't know what it's called) they should be fine.

>>3090 Also, maybe keep some charcoal tablets on hand. I know that when amanita pantherina grows in the spring, it is more potent, as opposed to its fall variant. That rule may apply to the rest of the amanitas, too.

>>3884 Activated charcoal will suck up anything with a negative charge if I recall right. It doesn't work on everything and I have no idea what your suggestion is even meant for.
What? · 2019-06-13 05:34
>>3894 Would it not stop the digestion and absorption of the chemicals in the mushroom? You should have it on hand, in case it really is very toxic. You would not want to continue digesting something toxic. Also, are amanitas poisonous and hallucinogenic? Every story I have heard about panther caps ends in poisoning and short coma.

amanitas are poisonous but if you dose right they are unlikely to send you to the hospital. Still really soykafty body feeling and really why the fuarrrk not just look for a psilocybe
Neo · 2019-06-13 23:15
>>3897 I misunderstood your intent. I thought you meant to take it with it as a precaution. It can possibly be used for amanita muscaria poisoning but it is likely it absorbs not just the ibotenic acid but also the muscimol. So if the intent is overdose treatment then yes it's good to have on hand. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4923689/

>>3897 Forgot to mention that you have to ingest a large amount to do anything and normally doctors would pump your stomach after and if taken too late it won't do much to help https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/ywx9j5/does-activated-charcoal-help-detox-body

>>3907 I actually found some panther caps the other day. Do you know how to detoxify them? Are they potent, or comparable to psilocybe?
Liet Kynes · 2019-06-26 11:16
>>3922 Found on the ground or to purchase? If you found it unless you're an expert you could easily be misidentifying. It's not like psilocybin mushrooms. I haven't personally had it before.
Spooky · 2019-06-26 16:38
Amanitas are neurotoxic. I wouldn't touch them.
Anamika · 2019-07-23 09:26
amanita feels like mdma but on the next day your head is clear again, no side effects. it's impossible to kill yourself with that kind of shroom and it doesn't give you hallucinations unless maybe if you dry and eat a soykafton, never tried that so the only thing you need to worry about is the fly larvae that's growing in the stem and digging upwards to the head. i bet erowid has good info.
Mitnick · 2019-07-23 21:38
>>3954 So is alcohol, but most people are fine with that. You probably will do less damage partying on neurotoxic psychedelics than a 'normal' session primarily because they don't really make you want to drink. But if you're a teetotaler then yeah, you may as well avoid all neurotoxins.
Rick Deckard · 2019-07-23 21:47
>>4020 >it's impossible to kill yourself with that kind of shroom I thought for sure this would be incorrect but yeah--looks like there haven't been any verifiable fatal overdoses of Amanita Muscaria in the past century. Says the calculated fatal dose is around 15 average caps. Only an actual psycho Viking berserker would ever dose that much. Yikes. Trip away, OP. Almost everything we do is bad for our health. We just rate unusual risks as more damaging than mundane ones, even if it's not true. The crap we eat and drink daily is doubtlessly way worse than the perhaps one to three amanita trips a user might take in a lifetime. http://www.namyco.org/mushroom_poisoning_syndromes.php#muscimol
