Whenever I smoke weed I get faster. I do everything from working to playing video games twice as efficiently. I gain charisma, motivation, will power, and more control of myself in general. I become more open and confident while also growing a moral compass. I think back on the fuarrrked up soykaf I've done with genuine remorse and the thought of overindulgence in lifes pleasures makes me feel guilty. My mind becomes more open, I start thinking more efficiently, gain more awareness, strength, and feel closer to the universe whatever tf that means. I'm a new pot smoker/drug user, and I don't think I even consider weed a drug so I guess this might not be the place for this. All I know is that I can't be the best version of myself without it. I lack the sight that it grants me. Why, when people say it makes us stupid, slow and lazy? I don't understand it

How often and how much do you smoke?
And you say you are new but how long since you started?

Im in the same boat as you and yes this is the right place.
My understanding so far is that weed and alcohol affect the processing priority of stimuli, both internal and external.
Whereas alcohol will usually alter the processing priority to increase priority of processing of external stimuli as perceived and react in a faster way.
Weed on the other hand seems to me to force internal stimuli to be processed in a more sequential manner.
It is well documented that thc temporarely disables the short term memory(not to be confused with ultra short term memory), which means you wont really be able to memorize situations in the present moment but process individual stimuli as they come.
This might seem self contradicting at first, but my experience is that when you concentrate on something under the influence of thc, because you have no working short term memory you will lose sight of the whole picture and instead can allocate more attention to smaller, usually more banal seeming details that interconnect in a linear manner.
Since all of that does get processed properly and when deemed worthy of memorizing get saved in the longterm memory in the usual manner as all other info is stored.
I think the loss of time and paranoia sometimes exprienced sometimes are a side effect of losing short term memory, as you dont have a idea of the current situation you become stuck in a kind of loop where you try to seek out a primary situational awareness assesment, but fail and get stuck in a loop where the failure of doing so increases recursively resulting in fear.
But dont take my word for it, this is only so far my own observation primarely.

So it promotes a linear thinking pattern in the brain, allowing us to analyze and process information in the moment we're taking it in, while forcing us to lose sight of "the big picture". It's like the brain goes into a meditative state and is able to direct all of its power to the information it's taking in right now, processing it in a more "focused" way at the cost and risk of not storing and learning from it.
That explains a lot. My memory is pretty bad and only gets worse on weed. However the new sense of immersion leads to processing things in a more clear and open way, whether its a task or an emotion, which feels good in the moment, but maybe not in the long run seeing as how a lot of it doesn't actually stick with me, hence why this year to me has gone by so damn fast.

Weed is hard to obtain for me so I'm forced to take long breaks when I run out. However I have a low tolerance so the quarters that I buy last me a long time. When I have it I smoke about a bowl or half a bowl daily. Sometimes more than that. On occasion I'll smoke 3 or 4 bowls in one session, but if I go more than that I become slow and susceptible to paranoia. I've been smoking on and off for about a year now.

smoking every day will build up a huge tolerance, idk why you think you have a low one

Perhaps my tolerance isn't as low as I think. Even after smoking for a while I still get pretty high off just one hit though, as in I definitely feel high enough after a single decent hit

that may just be your particular individual sensitivity. Most people would not consider themselves "pretty high" if they're still fully aware and functional.

weed is more subjective then acid in my experience. its probably just me. I can almost always relate to peoples tripping experiences yet when people talk about how weed makes them feel im like what.
Its also way more inconsistent for me. I know if I trip balls im gonna feel a certain way and theres gonna be patterning and soykaf. With weed I can get lazy, I can get focused, I can get horny, I can get anxious, I can get depressed, etc. Its only consistent if ive been using it a lot at which point its just kind of demotivating but also makes things more entertaining.
