Theraputic experiences with psychodelics/drugs

Hi Anons, this might be a bit of an odd post here, but I've been doing many drugs thoughout my life, a lot of psychedelics though mostly recreational I always hoped that I'd find some solace with them. Maybe it was lack of effort, maybe it was the chaotic environment but I never had a trip where it actually ' changed' me or help me get through some of my past pains or long term helped with current ones. 10 years of use, and nothing happened. I was an avid cultivator of mushrooms, did lsd, dxm, dmt, 2cb, 4-ho-mipt, never had anything even related to my actual problems in trips of diffrent dosage. Maybe I can think of couple of trips where I saw thighs legs of ladies and could connect if with porn addiction but its not like it helped me with it at the time. I used to think that weed helped me with anxiety but now at 6 months sober I think I was so much more paranoid and anxious while using(granted, it's probably all about dosing there but there are people who stand by daily use). I wonder how are your experiences? Have you had any trips which were actually therapiutic? help you realize something? If so was it an accident, or did you have specific intentions? Do drugs in your regular use benefit you outside of fun? Not trying to preach sobriety by any means, just being sober for so long made me reflect a bit, wonder what others experiences were like.

These days I don't like weed much at all, it dulls my mind which I have come to dislike. I usually go for a little bit of beer instead. Anyway, I'm not sure my trips were exactly therapeutic in the sense that they directly 'fixed' me. My usage of psychedelics was perhaps somewhat unusual, I rarely did large doses and would instead take small to medium doses of LSD or mushrooms and go hiking. Multiple times I almost died. But I loved it. All my best memories of being high were when I was alone in the woods. I don't think psychs themselves can really 'fix' you on their own. They can push you towards confronting things you usually avoid, or they can just make an already healing experience more healing. But the real healing happens long after the afterglow wears off.

At one point I was overwhelmed by various thoughts and ideas that I had and felt trapped between how I wanted to live and the expectations and mentality of everyone around me. Psychedelics helped to see what it was I had to do... they didn't really generate any new insight, but made it so that I could see what was already inside my mind. They are a tool that you can use to rearrange your mind and perceptions; they won't generate any new insight or help you otherwise. And as the saying goes, "once you get the message hang up the phone". I still do them sometimes but its now only to chill out and enjoy some music or nature or art.

>>21061 Hope that they might be therapeutic was why I started taking psychedelics but I haven't found much value in them for that. I'm glad I tried them, they're very interesting drugs even though I wouldn't exactly call them enjoyable (for me, anyway), but I've never had any insights about my behaviours or thought patterns in normal life. I think they could maybe be more useful for people with PTSD, or issues stemming from traumatic experiences in general. On mushrooms I often have experiences where my mental state feels exactly like being many years younger, so if someone needs to deal with something that happened to them 20 years ago I could see psychedelics helping with that

Try piracetam with it. It changed my veiws on sex, it's like I had telepathic sex with some entity that handcuffed me and laughed as if i realised I just fell for a jjoke.then I thought about about many people are just addicted to sex, jacking off and playing like s and m n all that. Hyper realisation of many innocent things that got taken apart by my relisations
