i had to quit smoking weed last year because of CHS. ever since then i've been struggling dealing with my anxiety and whatnot, esp when i get home from work and want to relax for the evening. i don't handle alcohol well so that's not an option either. being sober is like kicking dead whales down the beach ass and miss weed but can't do it anymore because it makes me sick. has anyone else had this problem and what did you do to deal with it?

I had to quit 7 Years of being a stoner, I was so bad to the point that I would wake up in the morning, smoke a bong , go to work , go home smoke bongs play video games , rinse and repeat. ( I had more fun times with friends on weed but it ended up me soloing it for years ) , Long story short I ended up getting myself intubated ( Put into a medical coma ) My lungs started to fail from abuse. Learned how to keep myself busy at home after work , reading books , manga , anime , games , spirtual studies , meditation , working on projects. I take Dex/Vyvanse nowadays at work and I usually feel too half wired when I get home to even think about smoking weed. ( I've learned I LOVE Stimulants > Smoking dirty bongs ) My point is that , Instead of replacing it with another substance , you replace it doing something completely different.

>>20268 i take adderall for adhd but i've never really loved stimulants as a recreational drug, i take a pretty mild dose and if i go any higher i get anxiety and stuff. i've tried focusing on hobbies and stuff like painting and writing and music and whatnot but i find it hard to be creative or think clearly or immerse myself in anything without weed. that's kind of what attracted me to weed to begin with when i was a teenager, having a head full of anxiety and ruminating on all the things i get stressed out about like school or work or money or whatever; weed kind of helped me relax and be able to do stuff, but now that's not an option anymore and even after many months of sobriety i still can't get into a state of mind to do anything other than just going to work or doing household chores or going to sleep.

any advice on trying to help/convince someone to actually quit marijuana ?

>>20271 Well like I said >>20268 It did fuarrrk my lungs , hospitalized me twice left me with trauma from the experience almost died during the coma , fuarrrked up my motivation , lost friends because I rather stay home and smoke , missed out on great job opportunities because I didn't want to do a drug test, Made my parents disappointed in me, The only relationships I would enter would be surrounded by weed or drugs and when I didn't have money for it the relationships went sour, I lost years of memories and life experience , The things I did do that I thought were 'productive' were just soykaf that I can hardly remember and useless. 2 Years later from all that and my life is going great, I haven't touched weed since walking into the hospital high and barely able to breathe. Working a decent job, part time studying , I have hobbies and a healthy relationship, meaningful friends, Have became health conscious and started lifting , have never felt better. Although I do take edibles on the odd occasion to watch a movie or play a game, I've changed too much to go back to the miserable life I used to live for 7 Years. If that isn't any motivation to quit from a former heavy stoner I don't know what is, It'll start with the weekend, it'll start with smoking with mates in the garage, then it'll turn into smoking every night , then it turns into wanting to be high all the time.

>>20288 On another note, You'll always be chasing the 'dragon' the highs you felt when you were younger, the experiences on weed for years and years, you'll never reach it like when you were younger no matter how high you get, you'll still chase the dragon and won't be fulfilled. You'll soon realize that the dragon is chasing you, and you'll be hiding with substances and pure cope.

I have been a daily toker for years now, i smoke atleast one a day, three on average. Right now im in a place where i have no access so im struggling too. ADHD and bipolar disorder make sober life tough, thc helps me relax and unwind, its a lifesaver for me, without it stress gets to me hard. Without it i get nervous and cant think straight, over time i get mood swings too, its terrible being sober, especially in time the symptoms accumulate. I want to quit sometime eventually and make hash coffee, i tried edibles but they dont work for me, but had good experiences dissolving hashish in creamcoffee. This gives a much stronger high and its more economic since none of it gets destroyed trough burning and you dont need to damage your lungs. >>20289 Too true, there is no high like the ones experienced when i started, but when i take longer breaks im high all day after one joint. Its sad but you can never really go back to that stage and subconciously crave it, it aint the same, but i guess its part of the druggie evolution.

>>20271 everyone has their own reasons for using drugs and sometimes they are valid reasons and sometimes they are illogical reasons and either way it's pointless to try to tell someone what they should or shouldn't do with their own body because you are not them and they are the only ones who can know what is best for them and they have to figure it out on their own.

>>20293 Yeah I feel you and it's rough and if it's genuinely helping you I hope you're coping right now even with your limited access, although what would be the reason for not having access?

>>20296 This is espcially true with ganja since there are so many variaties and ways to consume it, also set and setting can be so flexible unlike most other drugs that usually work the same and require extra conditions to use safely. >>20300 Im doing pretty well so far, keeping busy and having the luck of the weather being good so far i can keep myself occupied. I sort of live in two places currently so to speak, im fairly new where i am now and dont know anyone here. Back where i usually am almost everyone tokes, but here i dont know, however i am in walking range czechia and last time i was passing trough prague, you can get everything there legally, but i dont know where the next shop is. With the conditions being better now i will try to scout out the other side of the border, im sure there is some place close where i can get some. I have seeds too, but needless to say this will take time. Also speaking of addiction and health problems, im assuming almost everyone smokes with tobbaco(it would be almost unsmokable and wasteful without), since it is highly addictive and unhealthy, dont push problems on the hemp if you are not sure. My concentration is messed up, but thats nothing new, mood is ok so far too, usually when i dont get upset my biochemistry stays stable. However i noticed last time i didnt smoke for six weeks it tends to get worse over time. I will try to make some connections and get to know the place. i really need a new set of friends anyhow. Sometime this year later im gonna go to prague, get fuarrrked up real good and explore the city. Also i got lots of mountainside to explore, its very nice and if i manage to find some places to buy weed i will have lots of reasons to cross the mountains.
