For discussion of drugs typically not known very well recreationally! Not going to lie, I just need a thread to talk about Phentermine.
Seems like a kid's drug he stole from his mom, I've been looking for info on it and most people dismiss it. Let me tell you, it's actually not that bad.
I got some from a friend, I took about 70 mg (which would be about two pills of the standard dose, too lazy to look at what that would be exactly but I did before I dosed) and I'm feeling really energetic. In fact, I'm about to go study for a few hours while I still feel this way. It has been known to be an anorectic and most people say it won't get you very high, and I wouldn't say it's a high. It's identical to my experiences with Adderall, but I have ADD so even at high doses I never felt any euphoria. In fact, the little euphoria I have now is probably more than I ever had with adderall. I'm holding conversations very well, which is good considering I'm verbally stunted typically (yet ironically a good writer) and I also experienced this with adderall. It completely cures my autistic social ineptitude.
Anyways, I just wanted to say something good about this drug. It's not bad if you have nothing else, but I wouldn't recommend everyday use.
Also, from a small erowid report I read, it seems that phentermine has a higher nasal bioavaliability (requiring you to break pills up). Might be good for getting more use out of a limited prescription.

I hadn't heard of this before, thanks for sharing.
The fact that it is only schedule 4 in the US makes me wonder how easy it would be to source.
Does it have any nasty side effects? (vasoconstriction, jitters, etc.)
I'll toss in a few that I know of that may be less well known and of interest.
Memantine: Intended for alzheimer's treatment, you can also abuse it as an NMDA antagonist yielding a dissociative high (think ketamine / DXM / MXE / PCP / etc) with an extremely long half-life (60-100 hours). Haven't tried it myself, but lately it has become more popular in certain circles and is sourcable from RC vendors and even a few nootropics peddlers.
Diethyl Ether (Ether): Common lab solvent, was used as an alternative to alcohol in the early 1900s, also used as an anaesthetic for a while. Dissiociative, much more interesting than nitrous oxide, and very easy to acquire.
Propylhexedrine: Meth, only the benzene ring is a cyclohexane instead. Dirty but very euphoric and fun high. Pretty noticeable PNS effects so watch out for high doses. Easy to source.
Phenazepam: Erowid will tell you it is a russian benzo from hell, personal experience tells me that as long as you dose responsibly it can be a lot of cheap entertainment. Has a very long half-life (6-18 hours).

Side effects are reported to be dry mouth, jitters, increase in anxiety, and it's also been known to cause (or perhaps accelerate) psychosis in patients prone to them. Pretty standard stuff for amphetamines, really. The comedown is reported to have feelings of anxiety and anger but I haven't come into that yet, but once again, pretty standard for stuff related to amphetamines.
It should be pretty easy to source, ESPECIALLY if you're overweight. It's primarily a weight loss drug to my understanding. Not a whole lot of info about it, so checking my dosages and all that was a major pain in the ass.
>Diethyl Ether
That's interesting, I always thought this was a poison. Erowid doesn't seem to agree exactly.

Thanks for the extra info, I'll keep an eye out for it.
Random extra info on ether:
So far as I can tell, ether is well tolerated by the body and is one of the few solvents that does not cause lasting damage.
I haven't noticed any lingering adverse effects my personal use, beyond the fact that you WILL REEK of ether for at least a day or so. Be prepared to explain that.
I've only used it a few times now (~10), but it has been loads of fun each time. Definately more to it than nitrous oxide, feels much richer in terms of what it has to offer, and the pacing is much more relaxed. My best dissiociative experience to date was on a combination of MXE and Ether.
May be useful to note that while the effects of inhalation are clearly dissiociative in nature, oral ingestion seems to result in a blend of alcohol (GABA agonist) and dissiociative (NMDA antagonist) effects.
Also remember that pure ether is used in certain amateur photodevelopment techniques, among other things.
