Pic tangentially related.
I'm looking for a drug that dulls my anixety and emotions but still lets me be functional. Booze is great, and I'm happy when I'm drunk, but the motor impairment and long-term liver damage limit it to being a recreational drug.
Concerning benzos, I'm aware of the tendency for people to become addicted to them; I've heard some bad reports about unsuspecting people getting really fuarrrked over time because of them, ie. people with clinical anxiety that intend to abuse the drug but got sucked in to a cycle of abuse. For comparison, modafinil gives me a great boost in focus, yet it's not addictive and I can control my consumption easily. I'm looking for a depressant equivalent. I'm not confident I could control my benzo intake that way, so to be safe, I won't even try them.
tl;dr; I want to be as productive as possible while suppressing my anxiety and bad emotions with a depressant drug, with a decreased risk of becoming addicted. I want a tool I can use when needed, not perpetual sweet relief. Is that possible?

cannabis is nice, but also raises my heart beat and blood pressure. The few times I've tried weed, it's been great but... too impairing. It's also riskier to get in my area, there's cops fuarrrking everywhere.
You know the 'don't give a fuarrrk, everything's great' feeling alcohol and benzos give you? I'm looking for that, just weaker, and more controllable.

try tinctures. I prefer really high CBD and low THC

You might like tramadol. I have very bad anxiety and it helps me. It is an opioid, so addiction is supposedly problematic, but I've tapered off from 6+ months daily 200mg without any real problems, so the anecdotal stories about horrible withdrawals confuse me greatly. It doesn't make me feel impaired significantly (depending on dosage/tolerance) but makes me more sociable. It kept me alive actually (helps with emotions) - I was imminently about to commit suicide when I started thinking 'fuarrrk it ill take it everyday despite addiction risk'. Now, over a year later, I havent taken it for months atm and no longer thinking about suicide every few minutes

I tried 250mg of tramadol once. Got really high. Pretty much the only opiate high I've ever had, now whenever I listen to certain songs that I listened to while I was high, I get all nostalgic. I ended up falling asleep on my desk, literally the best nap I've ever had in my life. Addiction potential is probably one of those luck things. It seems like you may not get addicted as quick, but OP certainly might. I know I would, from that one experience with a relatively weak opiate. Maybe I just have a comically low opiate tolerance.
I don't know how you managed to take 200mg daily and not get addicted, in all honesty. I believe you, but still.

Seriously try Trazadone for sleep (or lower dose for anxiety) and hydroxazine. It stops histamine issues during an attack (and other cortizone responses). They're really effective non scheduled meds.

smoking sativa usually helps me with that, you could always just purchase a vaporizer and find a friend to help you find the bud. Although, if you are always paranoid sativa will enhance that feeling, and may not be for you. If so, just smoke some soykafty indica.

Quite sad that people so willingly ignore the fact it destroys neural tissue too. Alcohol is the pleb's drug.

Wrong, it lowers your blood pressure, since vasodilation makes it fall. Hence your heart needs to beat faster to still be able to move it through your veins and arteries.

Just stay away from benzos since they are quite harmful to inner eye pressure among other things. You could try a z drug like ambien (zolpidem). It has anxiolytic capabilities, but it heavily will ruin your motor skills.
Netrunner · 2018-07-02 09:59
Why all recomend weed? That thing can't fix my mind, I proved it and it only makes me paranoid.

If you have mental issues most drugs, except anti-psychotics or generalized neuroleptics will worsen it. And don't take this as personal insult. Recreational drugs are only for stable people.

I disagree, many people with depression or anxiety benefit from marijuana, just not everyone. Dosage and strain is important. Indica edibles are great for me but smoking some sativa makes me too paranoid. Almost everyone can enjoy recreational opiates and benzos

Do you recommend me opiates? I have never proved any, but I really want to relax my mind.
Opiates really works?

They are the best painkillers and make you sleepy as fuarrrk. Of course they work. I have no doubt heroin must be an amazing feeling. But I'd rather not take those you'd have to inject.

If you're afraid of being addicted for the love of god don't try tramadol or other opiates that other lainons are mentioning; those drugs are the reason why almost everything but caffeine and alcohol have been taboo in the West for decades.
For anxiety and mood enhancement I can definitely say phenibut has helped me a lot. It's GABAergic, so it's similar to benzos and alcohol, but it doesn't fuarrrk up your motor skills or liver. I wouldn't recommend taking it more than 3 times a week, and definitely not every day (unless you do smaller doses like 0.6g) since it can be addictive, just not nearly in the same realm as other anxiolytics. Personally I save it for "chatty days" such as interviews, meetups, or any other event where I'll have to socially perform.

DXM is legal in most places, not expensive, and not hard on the body. It's used by some people the same way you want to use alcohol. It has a unique problem though in that if you take modestly large doses several days in a row you can experience full on hallucinations.

Sounds cool. Mind to share an experience of your waifu with DXM?
My waifu never tried anything than sleeping pills, codeine, promethazine (sizzurp / lean / purple drank), weed, nicotine, caffeine and alcohol. All I can say is I hate stimulants, it is best to knock yourself out into a state of peace, a chemical reset button if life goes to wild for me. But had to stop after 40mg of stilnox and 100mg of prometh. Half life in the system is 10-12 hours, so it took a huge fuarrrking time to get sober and people asked what's up. That was an unpleasant experience. On the other hand, despite their high addictiveness could manage to get off the sleeping pills fast, maybe because of that incident.

Dude you didn't warn him about the dangers of it when you mix it with paracetamol (APAP)
It's very easy to die from liver failure while mixing those two substances

Do some research before taking it

I just wanted a story from someone who took it and ask them a few things. Sure I could check erowid but it is more personal if a lainon can tell me about it. Dude I cannot take it, it is not over the counter in Europe. Wish it was.

I'm totally fine with ganj, it should be legal everywhere and whatever. However it's my little pet theory that its proliferation in the last few decades has a whole lot to do with our culture's anxiety epidemic. Along with other factors, of course.
I have a few social circles, and out of all of them I don't know one single person who doesn't always smoke. It's fuarrrking hilarious to me when somebody gets nervous that maybe a new coworker doesn't smoke and would report them or something. Like that person does not exist in this community. There is nobody who doesn't smoke. Right now this is like cigarettes in the 1950s or something. Everyone does it literally all the time every day.
I never tried it until I was a bit older, and I still only smoke when somebody offers, don't buy my own. I think it's really obvious the kinds of effects it has on people, making them anxious and bipolar and depressed in the long term if they're heavy users. But they will never, ever see it. People don't even admit to themselves that it's actually addictive, saying bullsoy myths like "it's not physically addictive." What the fuarrrk is physical addiction? As opposed to spiritual addiction or something? All addiction is physical, and for that matter so is everything else about your thoughts and actions.
Back when I was an active and non-functional alcoholic, it was incredible how I never ever EVER noticed or admitted I was an alcoholic. I mean it was the most obvious thing to anyone, literally a stranger from the other side of the world could look at me for two seconds and tell. But addiction puts blinders on you.
I would love to find one other friend who doesn't smoke the entire time I'm ever with them and passes it to me for the five billionth time because they forgot I don't smoke, but I know they're just trying to be nice and it's really not that big of a deal. That's kind of part of the harm of it, though. It's not that bad. It's never going to make you hit rock bottom or fuarrrk up your life in a dramatic way. But it makes you depressed and anxious and it makes you okay with being bored. The consequences of that are subtle and slow.

I'll be that guy and recommend kratom. Buy it online, the head shops rip you off.
It's not super psychoactive, best description I've heard is that it's like a cup of coffee that makes you focused but in a relaxed way. Acts as a minor painkiller for joint, muscle, head, or stomach pain, which is nice. It's very subtle, though.
I like the feeling of being alert but not wired like too much coffee will do. It's unique and I hadn't really felt exactly that way before.
It does make you constipated if you do too much on the regs. Measure it and keep track of how much you're taking.

Gonna have to disagree with you there lain, back in the day I spent many hazy hours enjoying the stimulating opiate bliss that followed the consumption of several grams of Bali kratom. (At least I think it was some bali strain, it has been a while)

I'm gonna do some CBD drug testing in a medical facility for like 10 days.
They are testing for any possible aftereffects before they can sell it as a official medication for epilepsy.
I'm gonna get like 2k euros for doing it.
