Why do I dislike anime more when I'm on drugs?

It seems like the perfect combo, but no matter the drug, I just lose interest in whatever I'm watching. This happens with subs and dubs and is a consistent phenom with pretty much every genre. Only real exception is alcohol for some reason. I enjoy cartoons and live action fare fine on drugs, so why not anime? Am I the only person like this? Does anyone have a theory as to why the medium of anime specifically becomes less enjoyable for me on drugs? On paper, they seem like a match made in heaven...

depends on the anime most are boring as soykaf I spent my last shrooms watching eva death and rebirth + EoE and it was inspiring same with stuff like angels egg, kaiba, ergo proxy, mind game, nekojiru etc same tends to happen with games. playing stuff like tetris or the witness or lumines or rez is reaching 8th dimensional consciousness but if you're gonna spend your time high playing valorant you might as well kill yourself

Plus I'm not really "opening my mind" on 2nd plat DXM trips or a weed edible, yet I still can't enjoy any anime, be it Akira, Space Dandy, Yuru Yuri, or NGE. I guess it's a me problem after all. It's just frustrating because I've been introspecting about this for years and I still haven't come up with a satisfying theory...

Anything other than sitting in a chair while on drugs is very uncomfortable for me. Even watching Azumanga on drugs is like kicking dead whales down the beach for me.

I have no idea, but whenever Im high off weed I adore anime. Makes all scenes hilarious. so smoke weed all day everyday.
