>Smoke half an oz a week for 7 years. >Suddenly things start getting weird and time keeps ending up on x:42 every time I check >Start hearing voices >Never stops What do. I've been taking antipsychotics for two years and I still hear voices. Biggest difference is that I can kind of function normally now. I spent years in my room just talking to myself and acting like Mike Dawson thinking there was some sort of hidden layer between everything I saw and that mostly stopped. But I can't get a normal job because I twitch constantly and I can't get a tech job because I can't study because of the voices. I'm probably going to be homeless now. I thought weed was safe guys. I just wanted to chill and make video games and smoke weed like in grandmas boy :( Is it really over? I can't smoke weed anymore because the voices tell me not to and when I do my head starts dragging behind my body and then it floats to catch up or the voices get so loud that the house feels like its vibrating. Should I just say fuarrrk it and do heroin when I'm homeless because it's pretty much over? What would you do?

>>18679 weed is one of the substances that make people go psychotic the most. my advice as a meth user is to push the limit so hard that you shock yourself normal again. worked for me

Which antipsychotic and are you saying you hear the voices when on the medication or have you tried abruptly stopping and started hearing them again or does even a gradual reduction in dosage still result in hearing voices? Also do the voices even bother you? Have you tried managing how you handle and react to the voices? Do you at least know it is a hallucination or do you mistake it for someone actually talking? Ideally you should only take antipsychotics until initial psychosis subsides then slowly taper off in a hyperbolic curve or other newer methods of dosage reduction and see if you manage it not coming back. Remission and recovery occurs at higher rates in third world countries where they can't afford antipsychotics for life. Though there still are people who do not have remission or recovery. You twitch? Do yoi mean you have tardive dyskinesia?

>>18682 I'm taking Invega Sustenna (Paliperidone) injections 234mg monthly. I've taken every second generation antipsychotic except for clozapine. The voices do bother me, they constantly belittle me and tell me what to do, but it's not like before where I would go out naked or walk 12 miles with no shoes or stand in one spot in my room until I passed out. I plan on stopping the antipsychotics eventually, because now that I know I have schizophrenia I don't think they can fuarrrk with me as much. Telling me all these things that make sense only to me. And I don't know if it's tardive dyskinesia or not, but I'm taking benztropine for the twitches and it does nothing.

>>18679 smoked too much. should have smoked more like an 8th or a quarter oz a week.

>>18683 Clozapine was first gen actually and the first of the first gen. There also is unofficially a third gen with Rexulty (brexpiprazole) and Vraylar (cariprazine). The later has had studies show it helps some with negative symptoms like social withdrawal with slightly lower risk of weight gain. Newer ones that work on TAAR1 agonism are in development too. Why did you wind up getting this injection form? Did you have a tendency to avoid taking your medication thinking it is bad or did you only forget a lot? > schizophrenia and cannabis use may be reflected in the lipid composition through their association with neuroinflammation, oxidative stress and altered endocannabinoid signaling. Cannabis, in particular, disrupts endocannabinoid pathways > Related to the excitotoxicity, oxidative stress and neuroinflammation that patients with schizophrenia usually show it is worth mentioning the observed decrease in 1-methylnicotinamide (M060) levels in plasma samples of the SZ group. 1-methylnicotinamide is a neuroprotective endogenous metabolite that reduces glutamate excitotoxicity, and can help to attenuate neuroinflammation, neuronal apoptosis42 and oxidative stress. Therefore, a deficiency of 1-methylnicotinamide can ease the apparition of neuronal damage in case of glutamate accumulation, neuroinflammation and/or oxidative stress. In agreement with our results, Fan and colleagues reported a decrease of 1-methylnicotinamide in the plasma of patients with schizophrenia compared to healthy controls https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-024-83288-5 I'd say maybe try and see if GlyNAC + a natural form B vitamin supplement helps any. GlyNAC is glycine + NAC in a single pill in equal portions. NAC depleats glycine reserves so GlyNAC should coutner that effect. You would need a dosage of 1,000mg to no more than 2,000mg of GlyNAC. Natural B vitamin supplements would contain methylcobalamin (as opposed to cyanocobalamin) as the form of B12 and folate (as opposed to folic acid) as the form of B9. This should in theory help reduce oxidative stress, lower homocysteine levels, reduce glutamate toxicity, and improve myelination reducing neural excitotoxicity. This may or may not help reduce symptoms including your twitching. Ask a pharmacist if they think it is safe just to be sure but it likely is I'd assume. Just be sure to never abruptly stop antipsychotics. They can put you into psychosis from the withdrawl.

i don't know what it's like to be fully schizophrenic i hear voices and noises on occasion. like once a month. they're not distressing so far. i do think you should apply for disability. I don't know if it's possible to recover. but i think nicotine gum and strong anti-psychotics are a good course of action. sleep management too. my delusions and hallucinations got bad when I couldn't sleep because of flight or fight responses. that's what sent me to the psych ward. overall, psychedelics, including weed, are just horrible if you're schizo or schizo-adjacent. i learned this the hard way.
HELIOS · 2025-07-26 16:00
>>18692 Nicotine gum doesnt release very consistently. A patch would be better but they cause skin irritation. So better to get nicotine pouches or lozenges if skin irritation is an issue with a patch. I know nicotine can help with some symptoms but I assume this may be counterproductive in the long run since it could eventually down regulate the acetylcholine nicotinic receptors. My only conclusion on what may help avoid that for longer is if you alternate between nicotine and Tabex (cytisine not to be confused for cytosine) and take it with agmatine. This is completely untested though. Also there is many conditions other than just psychology ones that can cause hallucinations.

>>18692 I smoked maybe two packs of cigarettes before I started hearing voices, now the voices are constantly telling me to smoke cigarettes or vape every minute of the day. They threaten my mother with dementia to get me to smoke constantly. I know it's bullshit but I literally have to listen. And I did apply for disability a few months ago, but I'm still waiting. It's been saying a representative is reviewing my application and it takes up to a 325 days.

hey man the voices just let you know of The Path at least if you listen and stay open to all that happens. they're not voices. they're Word anyways music helps you focus when you're psychotic :) just watch out you're not drowning in even more voices by avoiding your voices haha life's funny like that be selective and follow the ancient rules
Delilah · 2025-07-31 14:00
>>18693 This could just be me but I found constant nicotine pouches to do a number on my gums

>>18696 There's no path. Nothing spiritual about it. They just keep insulting me and making me feel like soykaf. Been 5 years like this now. I'm tired. They just keep saying I hate this person burn in hell and telling me to smoke cigarettes. fuarrrking hate cigarettes. this is such a soykafty life. If you're looking for something spiritual they told me I gave my mom dementia by ODing on heroin in an alternate reality. I did OD on heroin a few times but my mom does not have dementia and I feel and I am a POS. They tell me cigarettes will stave off my mother's dementia. She's 71 and already lost one son and I'm sorry. I guess I deserve this. Maybe I'll go back to heroin when she passes away. This isn't a second chance for me it's a second chance for her.

>>18712 Nicotine constricts blood vessels so that is maybe it. Probably bad for your gums which is why smokers lose teeth. >>18717 The approach to that is to change your relationship with the voices. Basically you don't have to take to heart what is said. Nah heroine would make it worse by down regulating the kappa opioid receptors which has a downstream effect on the NMDA receptors which downstream to dopamine if I recall right. Naloxone or naltrexone may do you some good ironically.
Jens Hansen · 2025-08-02 15:38
>>18712 nta but i agree, that is why i stopped doing them recently. i thought at first it was only snus doing that but it seems the nic ones do too.
