Captagon

Just learned about this stimulant that's almost exclusively used in the middle east. Because muslim terrorists often use it, it's frequently called the "jihad drug." Has anyone ever tried it? How is it qualitatively different than regular amphetamine? I can't find too much info about it besides the wikipedia entry. Cool name at least.

It's not what Western media sensationalism says it is. Captagon is the brand name of fenethylline. The drug just a prodrug for amphetamine and theophylline so it would be like taking amphetamine plus drinking some guarana tea. It isn't even used by Islamist terrorists before attacks. Btw, as Captagon is like Heroin as in it was a brand name once, but since then it is mostly illicitly manufactured, and what is referred to under this name, now can contain not exactly the same substance. Many (if not most) samples from busted Captagon shipments, contain not fenethyline, but a powder mixture of an amphetamine salt and teophylline or even just plain caffeine. So oftentimes, it's basically just a speed tablet, it's just you make the Saudi royalty richer by buying it, instead of the maffia from The Netherlands.

Captagon is basically kill since Syrian revolution, they destroyed the factories making it. Other countries may continue production though
