I want to stop drinking booze. I have anxiety problems, and want some medication that isn't soycaf SSRI.
Any fun ones?
Would phenibut work?
I get freaked out by raised heart rates, unless I'm really messed up.

We might be in the same situation. I'm drinking because my environment is terrible and I don't have any real social connections while I'm taking an SSRI. I'm trying to cut down on drinking because I feel like this one is working, but I'm dealing with a lot of really obtuse people in my life and it's nice to have a real escape once in a while. How are you holding up?

I haven't fuarrrked anything up with University yet.
I am starting to get digestive issues and a rebound affect from booze, so I want to quit for the summer at least.

I'm glad you found something.

Depending on how much you drink every day, you may need to taper to avoid severe WD symptoms. Just keep using alcohol as your taper substance.
Once you are off the hooch:
I've read that phenibut has decent recreational potential, but I have also heard some reports of rebound excitotoxicity after heavy dosing, so be careful.
tert-butyl alcohol is cheap, has a long half-life and is effectively a hangover-free, higher-euphoria version of alcohol.
Various GHB analogues might also be worth considering, although I don't know as much about them.

Is this the tert-butyl
https://erowid.org/experiences/subs/exp_2Methyl2Butanol.shtml?
I heard you can make ghb via brewing and glutamide is this true. It seems kinda urban legendy though.

My bad, tert-amyl is what you want, not tert-butyl.
Yes, 2m2b is tert-amyl alcohol.
I've heard about various GHB brews via yeast fermentation, no clue how reliable they are though.

If you have anxiety you could give nicotine a try.

I used to smoke. I quit because the elevated heart rate started freaking me out.

Lower doses of nicotine probably won't give you that experience. With the 2mg mints, provided you don't also drink coffee or something, you shouldn't notice an elevated heart rate.

I think smoking (like drinking) helps in the minutes and hours you are doing it but causes the problem to worsen on the chronic time scale. Also there will be times when you can't smoke and this induces a very bad form of anxiety in those moments or worsens it if you are already anxious.

Smoking involves dozens of different active chemicals including MAOIs that increase addiction and have other properties such as anti-depression. It's not the same as plain nicotine.

I don't think nicotine is what I want.
I had a clonozapam script and that worked. I just want a substitute for something like that or booze.
Does pregablin work?
Koos van der Merwe · 2018-05-12 07:15
Selank and Memantine
Don't do Phenibut. Phenibut withdrawal and alcohol withdrawal are the same thing with the same risks, but Phenibut gets you in that threshold much faster.
Use Selank for anti-anxiety and general chill pill and Memantine for suppression of your active as fuarrrk NDMA receptors. Just take it easy on the Memantine; you take too much and you are gonna be Stallone for like 48 hours

It's easy mate, just tell yourself to not do it anymore and every time you do it hurt yourself, like stabbing yourself with needles

Pregabalin, phenibut and gabapentin are all very similar and great drugs. They probably would help to replace alcohol if it weren't for two things:
1. You build tolerance very fast if you use more than say once a week
2. they're super addictive like benzos and also have soykafty withdrawls like benzos or booze.
If you just want to replace alcohol I recommend GHB. It's basically just a better version of what alcohol does with much less downsides. But it's still dangerous like any CNS suppressant so be careful.

Was temporarily prescribed gabapentin for anxiety. Didn't do soykaf for me. When I stopped taking it for anxiety I read up and did a recreational dose a few times to get rid of what was left over. Didn't do soykaf for me aside from space me out. Was a very neutral feeling, not sure why people do it.
Light · 2018-08-05 11:40
I was on an SSRI since last summer and I think it did actually help with my anxiety a lot. I know they're usually soykaf but I didn't get any side effects and I just came off it and didn't actually get many withdrawal symptoms either.
