I am not sure if this is the right place to talk about it, or ask about it. It's probably not. But I like you Lain-anons, so I'm doing it anyway.
There are 3 drugs or elements with mind altering chemical properties that I still use. Coffee, tobacco and marijuana. I take Ayahuasca for religious purposes once in a while, so I don't consider it as a "drug" in terms of "recreational drugs", although it's an entheogenic substance.
I have experimented mushrooms and mescaline before, did not enjoy it, although it was beneficial in the long run. Was hooked on benzos and was a borderline alcoholic in my teen years, fortunately I left that behind many years ago.
But I know that almost all of the blissful states of mind, the profound ideas, the general feel-good revealed by these drugs are basically inherent to us, at some deeper level of consciousness.
Marijuana, although sweet and marvelous, is getting tiresome and it generates a broad state of lazyness in my life that's starting to piss me off. And I don't intent to dose up on that, or to migrate to other substances. I think I got to my limit.
I can't remember soykaf properly like I used to, I have to buy it from dealers in my area (they are alright, but even so, it's kind of a bummer), I get all sluggish in general, and in general, I can't enjoy content like movies and music deeply with weed the way I used too. And the absolute fuarrrking worst of all: I don't dream as often as before. And when I do, it's not as near as significant, memorable or intense as I used to in my whole life. I want smoke weed only in specific, rare moments in my life, like twice or thrice a year.
So, I don't know about you guys, but I have a policy of not doing any stimulants beyond straight coffee, nor to use mind altering pills of any sort, only derivatives of plants/fungii/fruits and the sort. Cooling down works very poorly with me, in terms of weed. What is concerning me is that, although I can do a month or two without weed, some of these side effects do persist, specially in terms of dreaming and sleeping. So, the real question is:
>Do we have any method of meditation, breathing, some sort of specific exercise, physical and/or mental, that triggers that quality of dreaming?
>Something like an altered state of mind that I can trigger by myself, without the aid of any external drug?
Because I became a completely stagnated individual in terms of inspiration, intuition and general contemplative qualities after some years, specially after a long time smoking the sweet leaf. And this is making me miserable.
