Making Time Go By Slower

Hello lainons of /drg/, I have been wondering for a while now, what are some of the best substances for counteracting your perception of time accelerating? This feeling is my least favorite thing about life by a long mile. I am essentially an active user of no substances unless we count caffeine (and I seldom drink coffee/tea or soda) So I am an absolute noob to this type of experimentation. I have zero interest in actually getting "high" in any sense of the term. What I am asking about strictly is what drugs or types of drugs are best for stalling or perhaps even reversing the feeling of time going by faster as you get older. I was told dissociatives are the best for this but the psychedelic aspect of those makes me hesitant a little bit. The optimal solution slows my perception of time down the most while having as few other mind altering affects as possible. Some semi-effective sober solutions I have found are: >Starvation >Intense exercise >Going without sleep (but that's an extremely terrible option) >Adrenalous situations like wiping out on a motorcycle, or any situation where you lose control I am open to pretty much any suggestion on this front with the exception of alcohol.

>>15985 You have to make yourself faster. If you were very fast everything you perceive would appear slower. Alternately, you could suffer extreme boredom, pain, or any number of other excruciating things to make your perception of the passage of time slower. A final method, which is the classic one, is to accept that you're getting older and to let it happen gracefully. Most drugs will prematurely age you and give you less lifetime in which to complain about your perception of time. I like the classics myself.

>>15986 > accept that you're getting older and to let it happen gracefully. This has very little to do with the fact that I am getting older. I hate the feeling of turning around and the day already being over, songs feeling shorter, etc etc. The concept of being old scares me little. The concept of time flying by like a rocket scares me a lot.

>>15985 for real, long-term solutions: best option: boredom second best option: reading a challenging book third best option: something slow and repetitive, like fishing for short-term: tryptamines or dissociatives will do the job, but neither will leave you sober. alcohol, ironically, works pretty well (get moderately drunk alone and just sit and think)

>>15986 >>15985 What he said. In order to get more time per unit time, you must be more do more. In physical terms increase your metabolic rate. Consume caffeine, simple sugar. Limit PUFA (from any source "natural" or otherwise). It is a question of life and death. Check yourself for hypothyroidism using the tests of heart rate and body temperature. The most difficult thing is to increase the level of dopaminergic stimulation, especially in the highly serotoninergic, stressful environment of the basic wage worker. This "pathway" of activity has been much maligned in the last years, but as is the case with many other "addictions", an organisms' drive to consume stimulating Online Content is the not entirely illegitimate attempt to compensate for an unstimulating life and life situation. The solution is to develop a more stimulating life in "real terms", with in many cases a greater "surface area" of interactivity. We all know that time passes more quickly as you get older, but this maps down even to the level of estimating off-the-cuff the length of 120 seconds. There is something fundamentally biological going on here -- not necessarily secondary phenomena relating to memory and so on.

>>15999 This idea of moving faster and more proactively to perceive time as moving slower is certainly one I have considered in the past. There is definitely some merit to it I feel. I think another possibility I have been pondering lately is that something else that also happens as you get older is that your thoughts become so much more verbal. Associations complexify. When you're a kid your thoughts are obviously far simpler and your grasp and understanding of certain concepts just so much more limited. I do think there is a link between those 2 things.

Well I found another thing that makes time feel slower. I came down with a mild fever after leaving a concert last night and ~15 minute intervals felt more like 45 all day today. Symptom seems to have subsided already though. Still eager for more input on this.
