Best game genres for different drug classes

Sipho Nkosi · 2023-12-16 16:13
Cannabinoids: platformers Stimulants: management sims Beers: hero shooters Dissociatives: open-world explorers Psychedelics: QRPGs Opiates: ???? Deliriants: ???? I've literally never enjoyed any games played on opiates or deliriants, but I'm open to suggestions. For the rest, it should be self-explanatory why those genres work best for those drug classes. Curious to hear the reasoning behind any dissent from my picks.

Can't really say the genre but here are the games I played on their respective drugs Weed THC vape: League of Legends Ketamine & weed edible combo: Deathrun mod in Cod4X Amphetamine: Counterstrike 1.6 and CSS Heroin and weed edible combo: Call of Duty: United Offensive multiplayer LSD: minecraft

>>14553 >Weed THC vape: League of Legends makes sense. It's probably the only way to handle the extreme toxicity >Ketamine & weed edible combo: Deathrun mod in Cod4X How the fuarrrk do you play deathrun on ket? >Amphetamine: Counterstrike 1.6 and CSS A lot of people say amphetamine is good for shooters but I always get way too twitchy. Plus that genre doesn't really give you the ability to use your temporarily buffed int stat. >Heroin and weed edible combo: Call of Duty: United Offensive multiplayer I'll take your word for it. I just can't stand opiates personally, so I really don't know >LSD: minecraft make sense. I've tried Minecraft on many drugs and the best imo is stimulants. QRPGs on the other hand are mostly linear and are deliberately trippy

Almost any time I've played a video game in the past decade or more, it has been CS:GO, Rocket League, or AssaultCube. If you're unfamiliar with the last one, gameplay footage is easy to find. I've been told it's similar to old CS, which I haven't played. I've enjoyed and markedly excelled at AssaultCube on a variety of substances, including adderall and vyvanse, fluorinated amphetamines (4-FA, 2-FMA), cathinones (pentylone, pentedrone, MDPV), cocaine, methamphetamine, weed, alcohol, DXM, MXE, LSD, shrooms, DOB, DOC, and JWH-018, to name what I can remember from the years I spent playing AssaultCube regularly. I've played CS:GO and Rocket League on a smaller set of substances; for me, the most notable included shrooms, acid, and meth. Many of these had rather predictable results; e.g., drastic improvement in performance during early use of meth before tolerance developed. Some effects are possibly less readily expected, but unsurprising, such as, with any stimulants, a point of diminishing returns where I get too twitchy or spacey to play well. And some that I was completely surprised by. The most striking example of this is that I do shockingly well at any of these games on shrooms or acid. I'll see tracers in the game, everything will be absolutely hilarious, and I'll be almost supernaturally attuned to the flow of the game and what people are going to do. I pull off completely ninja soykaf without even really thinking about it. In AssaultCube the sniper rifle fires exactly to the center of the screen even when you don't scope in, and there is no spread or inaccuracy caused by moving like there is in CS:GO, so it's normal when using the sniper to just run around and noscope people with it. Only a headshot results in a one-shot kill against an enemy with full HP in this game, and there is no crosshair displayed when not scoped in, so there remains a significant element of skill in doing this effectively, especially against opponents using other weapons. So with that background info, now imagine that you are on acid or shrooms, seeing massive tracers behind all the players running around, tears streaming down your face as you crack up non-stop at everything that happens, quite possibly you have turned off the gun model entirely so you don't even see your own sniper rifle pointing vaguely toward the center of the screen as a guide, and you're just dancing around all over the map, somehow making so many insane noscope headshots that you end up getting vote-kicked from the server because people think you must be cheating. This is pretty much the experience for me on psychedelics in each game -- for Rocket League, same tune, different lyrics, etc.

I like weed and rpgs. It feels more immersive. Racing games are fun on alcohol, as ironic as it is. I imagine something like yume Nikki would be good for deliriants, especially cause there's not a lot of consequence in that game.

psychedelics + classic PS2 survival horror

>>14564 it's hard to play any games on psychs for me because of how much they get me stuck in my own head but if I were to chose any game it might be silent hill 3. I used to play a lot of n64 games on lsd like mario 64 and zelda oot. anything with clever puzzles and adventure I think is good for psych vibes.

I really enjoy playing JRPGs and dungeon crawlers while on ketamine. SMT V is a particular fave. The immersion, atmosphere, and music make up for the lack of content and polish.

Opiates made Life is Strange (the first one) enjoyable to me, and I find I generally tolerate VNs much better while opi'd out. Then again, that goes for every genre, and I do have a genuine problem. It was worth it to chuckle at the "DONTNOD" logo on the startup screen though, because god damn if i wasn't nodding.

>>14587 Opiates bring best for visual novels actually makes perfect sense.
Chani · 2023-12-21 07:05
>>14587 >>14592 I somehow never nodded out on heroin, I just kept snorting bumps until my heart rate slowed, my bed felt really really cosy and I felt sick but in a pleasant way but other than that felt pretty normal. Then I went to sleep in this psuedo-sleep state and woke up with a hangover and threw up a few times

Nicotine was amazing for very text heavy visual novels, I have great memories coming home after work every day and going through many nicotine pouches in the evening reading through the gigantic walls of text in Umineko.

>>14592 Yeah, you just go with it instead of getting distracted (ADHD) or thinking how dumb the characters are. Total suspension of disbelief.
