I have been doing this thing where I take stims on saturdays for programming and making art. Trying to figure out optimal way with harm reduction. I figured that it it actually makes me productive, then thats the poison that I choose. I counterbalance it with healthy food during the week, though. Also supplements and only do it one day per week. Any ideas suggestions for optimization/better substance/harm reduction? Anyone did this?
Eaten street amphetamines - works for long, even up to 5 hours, seem to be best. No hangovers. Focus and motivation with tingle of euphoria
Modafinil - great healthier alternative but in the evening makes you a bit out of it. Paradoxically eating street amphetamine doesnt… lmao
Cocaine - too short action, makes you redose, makes you unproductive, probably causes huge addiction with no benefits in life
Ritalin (metylo) - i dont know, it does the job done but feels a bit robotic, no euphoria/passion and so even modafinil should be a better alternative. Because why take something so unhealthy only to have modafinil-kind-of-effects?
Harm reduction:
Healthy food and only one coffee per day
Nac in the morning in the week with collagen that has glycine
R-ala, alcar, magnesium, isotonic drinks, q10, high quality matcha becase l theanine antioxidants etc
Any ideas? Have you tried anything similar?

The most important thing is to take breaks from stimulants. But you are already doing that.
Mentat · 2023-10-05 06:41
With a good source and self control methamphetamine is perfectly safe but not my personal cup of tea. Once a week is absolutely safe. The only harm reduction you should concern yourself with is making sure you eat right, as you probably don't eat much on Saturday night. But going without food for one day a week is arguably healthier then otherwise, stims or not, and limiting your coffee is a good idea, too.
There is as of recently a new method to synthesize meth that you should be aware of. Apparently it has a latent toxicity irrelevant to a pure product, but street available is what it is. This "other meth" causes schizophrenic behavior in regular users after only weeks, where the same use/sleep cycle in pure meth takes months of daily, sustained use to produce similar bouts of crazy. This schizophrenic behavior in pure meth also goes away after the user stops smoking for awhile. The symptoms associated with "other meth" reportedly do not dissipate in time.
I have no experience with either, but the "other" is more common down south. Trust your source, do your research. Don't be afraid to google around unprotected, LE doesn't give a soykaf unless you're trying to make it or sell it.

How common is it to code on stims? Without them I don't have the willpower to persevere through the frustrating debugging or the ambition to implement my ideas. I may actually have ADHD and be retarded tho

if you count caffeine and tabacky its pretty dang common.

What is the answer if you don't count tobacco and caffeine?
If I learned to code on amphetamine, and I'm 34 years old, is it too late for me to learn to code without it? I've tried but I haven't been able to do it so far

I am curious what it feels like the barrier is. Can you just not direct your attention to the task? Can you not fit enough in your working memory at once?
Mario Rossi · 2023-10-05 22:42

Yes. I lose focus so much faster programming than doing other tasks and my working memory is def not big sober.

I had it like this the first 23 years of my life. Then I found a gf, my mind changed and I was able to focus anytime on programming. It was short lived though because I am 28 about to have a huge loan and child… I think I am about to lose my fuarrrking power… it worked 5 years. Isnt it ironic it probably works 5 years for stimmers, too? after 5 years of coding at stims your brain is probably too damaged to do much

I haven't actually written code on amphetamines, but some things that work for me getting around that stuff:
>meditation
helps with managing attention and mental resistance
>project journal / written conversations with person or LLM
helps compensate for lack of working memory to have the details of what I'm doing written down to reference
>no 'zero days'
Being able to get into anything approaching a flow state has a lot to do with having relevant things ambiently floating around in your head, actually getting at least something done every day helps build that up. Sleep and abstaining from alcohol/weed also helps. Not having other very distracting things going on in your life also helps.
Roger Pollack · 2023-10-06 02:50

>meditation
yeah I should probably do that more.
>project journal
I think my inability to effectively take notes or get my ideas on paper has always been a big problem my whole life. The best solution I have found is taking stims.
>zero days
Well, I just feel like I can't get into a flow state without stims. I'm kinda worried I fuarrrked my brain. Also I've definitely had plenty of days where I try to do 1 simple thing and I end up just spinning my wheels for 6 hours. Really kills my motivation.
I'm just a hobbyist but my bro is a pro coder. He said none of the programmers on his team use adderall... but the sales team does?
Aristóteles Amadópulus · 2023-10-06 09:56
On the same boat, OP. Currently repeating a year of uni because last year was a catastrophe. Hanging on by a thread at the minute, I simply can't function long term without strong stims, I tried it, tried different methods without using them and nothing works for me. I would spend the whole semester getting distracted and it results in last minute cramming for exams which always ends in failure or just passing.
Have to stay away from weed and opioids too because I find downers make me even worse, I would spend the day being lethargic as fuarrrk, forcing myself hard to do something like clean, brush my teeth..etc if I could I would spend the whole day in bed. Caffeine and nicotine helps me crawl through the day. My dopamine system is probably fuarrrked beyond repair

>Well, I just feel like I can't get into a flow state without stims. I'm kinda worried I fuarrrked my brain.
Frankly this is what terrifies me about those drugs. I almost never get into a real flow state, it's random, rare, and always goes away quickly, but when I'm in it all that stuff I described to compensate is unnecessary because I can see everything clearly and solve complex problems on intuition alone, I can feel an inspiration naturally guiding me forward. It is immensely frustrating that this does not sustain itself.
If I could and got used to turning that on just by taking a pill, it would be very hard to go back, just in terms of coping with being that much less powerful. So I feel like possibly your problem isn't that your brain is fuarrrked, but rather that having gotten used to that, the whole one foot in front of the other, walking through a fog grind that is the normal experience of programming, feels like there is something very wrong, when actually that's just how it is, so you make the mistake of looking for a way to fix it when what's needed is just keep moving forward and have faith that your plan will get you somewhere.
>Also I've definitely had plenty of days where I try to do 1 simple thing and I end up just spinning my wheels for 6 hours. Really kills my motivation.
Try asking ChatGPT to solve your issues with boilerplate bullshit and ask followup questions, it's really powerful for getting past basic roadblocks.

There is no such thing as "street amphetamine". Street amphetamine is ~3% amphetamine on average. If you're serious about it, you should probably produce the substance on your own (getting ephedrine off darknet and synthesizing pure amphetamine is not that hard)

ChatGPT hasn't given me good answers to my problems so far. Ironically the frustrating 6 hour roadblock that comes to mind is I can't figure out how to get obscure blockchain packages with soykafty documentation to do what I want. Also ChatGPT is like kicking dead whales down the beach in general now due to all the limiters put on it. Still pissed it refused to answer the simple question "What is the hottest race of woman?" Got any recs for a good local AI specifically for programming help? Not crazy about paying money btw.

Unfortunately local are just not as good right now.

Guys, when I was in uni, nothing actually ever worked. It is like you say. I was retarded and I am probably still (?). However…finding gf solved lots of my problems and created new ones. I now have sex and affection and healthy connection which gives me 12 hour a day dopamine high. On the other hand; I am going go take a loan and have fuarrrkiNG CHILD od Children now. I hate this so so much and I am so lost… it is liieyou are going go pay with your amphetamine years except you are paying with your children. Anyone experiencing this lately?9
