Best drugs for solitude?
Leto Atreides I · 2023-04-16 19:34
What are some drugs you can enjoy in solitude to cope with loneliness? Weed is getting old and psychedelics just make me think about how lonely I am. Most drugs are inherently better with other people but that isn't an option for me.

Any drugs harder than that will only make things go from lonely to hellish.
Neuromancer · 2023-04-16 19:51
The obvious answer would be opiates, but i don't think i have to explain why that is the worst idea ever.
Another would be the sleepy-dreamy kind of dissociatives like ketamine, 2F-DCK, etc, but if you have pain in your soul. you will abuse these too to the point of serious damage, i guarantee this.

I'm the last poster, the second half of the post got cut.
I would have liked to ask, why are you lonely, lainon? Would you like to talk with me on irc? (about this topic or any other)
Joe Bloggs · 2023-04-16 20:12
I usually have better trips on psychedelics alone than I do with people. If you're extremely lonely maybe don't try to use drugs to cope though? You will probably end up getting lonelier and killing yourself slowly.

Opiates. They are beautiful, perfect for solitude and easing your emotional pains. In the hardest, loneliest times of my life I found it a huge relief to take some and go on a walk in nature. It can be enlightening and help show you that you can enjoy life alone.
>Most drugs are inherently better with other people
Untrue.

What?

>What
Taking opiates while having serious pain in your soul, is the worst idea.
Step 1: i'm just gonna do it rarely once in a while, to help me cope with lonelyness.
.
.
.
Final step: "So what if imma dopefeen"
Unless of course you are ready and willing to be a dopefeen, then it's a good idea

I liked to think this place would be for people with >100 IQ. The sub-title of this board it 'Reality is just a crutch for people who can't handle drugs.'
I used to be deeply depressed and would regularly take opiates. Kept it to about once a week for 2 years. I slowly improved my life. It helped me. I never felt that I lost control. Now it's been several years since I've taken any, since I have been focused on other interests.
The vast majority of people who take opiates do not become addicts. Please stop peddling war on drugs propaganda. At least in places like this. -Everyone- is aware of the addiction risk of opiates, we don't need to hear it again and again.
Sometimes I swear everyone else here is a teenager with no clue what the fuarrrk they're talking about

Everyone is also aware that opis make you totally benumbed to pain both mental and physical, so we dont need to hear how good they work for pain again and again.

Abuse potential is increased if you're using to cope with negative feelings, and risk is increased when you're using alone. The best course would be to both work towards reducing your loneliness to a healthy amount and becoming content in periods of loneliness without drug use.

>again and again
Not that lain but they posted about it only twice. Once to directly answer the question op posed and once to constructively address criticism to their answer in the context of the thread. That's exactly what the thread is for.

When did lainchan get filled with a bunch of boyscouts staying obvious things

Uh, yeah. What do you think I'm trying to do here?

The negatives are amplified and shoved down our throats by state-sponsored propaganda. The positive anecdotal stories from recreational users are suppressed and available only in small, low-visiblity counter-cultural communities like this one: that's the valuable info to be shared here

podcasts or any interesting dialogue to listen to
Armitage · 2023-04-18 09:05
Don't use drugs. Really, they're going to screw you up.

The negatives are way over amplified but the insane dangers we were told lied behind pills or H really are there when it comes to the fentanyls that go around now. Also even though some people dont consider "severe addiction and horrible physical withdrawal" a danger its still a possibility when it comes to any form of opi.
Judge Fang · 2023-04-18 13:49
Ketamine and other dissos. Less harmless and addicting than opiates/opioids but theres a catch, they have a permanent tolerance where once you build up, it could take atleast year for the tolerance to go down just a little bit and it goes all the way up. Solution is to stick to doing them once a month but if you're incapable then atleast once a week strictly.
