Cyberpunk drugs

For me, I feel like ketamine and its analogs are something out of cyberpunk fiction. Most normal people associate sniffing with cocaine which provides a basic stimulating dopamine rush and resembles plain white powder, where as ketamine is this glittery fairy dust that can take you on a journey out of this world and unlike coke it provides a pleasant afterglow unless you abuse the fvck out of it. The high itself is unique and interesting, sometimes even more so than popular psychedelics like LSD-25. I love it. What other drugs do you consider to be cyberpunk?

>>12666 I haven't done hard drugs in a while (and I never did them very much anyways), so I'll keep it basic. Caffeine, and particularly its addictiveness. How entire cultures and societies in Europe were transformed because of a slight adenosine-jacker from Ethiopia is fascinating and compelling. It's one of few drugs that is /completely/ socially acceptable. Indeed, many are surprised when you aren't doing it. At the same time, if using daily, its stimulant effects only last for 18 days, quickly becoming an expensive liability instead. At the same time, the country that comes the most caffeine per-capita in the world, Finland, is probably the furthest thing from a coffee-producing country you can find. Drinking coffee necessarily demands an advanced global shipping/exploitation infrastructure, unlike some other substances, which could be produced locally. And that's pretty cyberpunk.

Any research chemical that doesn't have just party vibes but is also nootropic

LSD and any LSD analogue >entirely synthetic >cults have formed around it >most people find it intimidating >produced and distributed mainly by people who truly believe they are doing a good thing for the world

>>12669 Any examples? I am interested.

>>12666 Literally and unironically any rc.
Liet Kynes · 2023-04-16 21:31
>>12666 Any dissociative. You literally feel like you were aged down back when you were 6 years old, a veil of nostalgia. Everything seems sorta familiar but sorta new. I've gotten this effect more on DXM than Ketamine although I think it's just more dissociatives in general.

Dexamphetamine purely because it was (ab)used by someone in a William Gibbon novel (neuromancer I think)
Technician · 2023-04-22 19:25
>>12742 Yes, the fact that so many people are basically on amphetamines to perform better at their current or future corporate jobs is incredibly cyberpunk. >>12666 Ketamine is indeed a patrician drug but I'm not sure it's harmful enough to be cyberpunk. It's also rarely contaminated (via drugsdata.org).

Well, any illegal drug is low life, but where is the high tech?
Hiro Protagonist · 2023-04-23 09:10
>>12745 >where is the high tech? Complex synthesis of chemicals that get transported intercontinentally by federal intelligence cartel networks for means of social control and the funding of black budget projects, acquired by the user to escape or enhance the modern alienating condition.

>>12745 >purely synthetic >better with electronic music You know in your heart it is true

disassociates, very specifically due to the modern nightclub atmosphere and it’s very nature as a drug. extremely cyberpunk and i often get into thought loops regarding tech and society that get super fun and interesting. methamphetamine, and specifically of low quality consumed by people often with nothing, living under overpasses in rapidly growing cities. just the other night i was really high on coke at 4am and kinda bored and went for a walk. i ended up running into a semi neighbor up smoking outside and since im high and no one but tweaks and oddballs are awake doing things at these hours i initiated conversation. he is someone i very much know regularly uses meth and as i got to know him more he told me about his time being homeless but how he is pursuing education in information technology and security. great, good for the guy but what was so fascinating was all of his hobbled together tech projects. different innards of computers, tablets, laptops, phones, any kind of electronics you’d imagine. almost all found by being a street rat with an understanding of the future and how to use technology, even as what our society has deemed the untouchable class . idk it was a cool time and had me thinking deeply about this subject. time isn’t moving any slower and technology seems to be evolving still at rates that blow me away often. but drugs man….definitely going to be a huge part of this potentially dystopic electronic that we or future generations may find ourselves born into.

Fred Nurk · 2023-04-27 10:30
is the darkweb still good for getting ket or is it just a fed honeypot now
Demeere · 2023-05-03 17:12
>>12765 >fed honey pot Hell no unless you are a fuarrrking retard and go in blind. Thanks to the Onion and my poor self control, I have have now developed a permanent tolerance to ketamine and sniffing a fat line or two is no longer enough to disable me :'(
Lady 3Jane.. · 2023-05-25 04:23
>>12666 Easy. 4-bromo-2,5-dimetoxifeniletilamine or 2-CB with the Colombian flavor. Looks like pink cocaine and it's commonly sold during raves and at wild night city like club scenes. You call it "tusi" and it's actually more of a commission cocktail drug that has 2-CB plus something else you want to enjoy your night. It can be cut with cocaine, psychedelics, or anything you want under the sun. https://insightcrime.org/news/tusi-the-pink-drug-cocktail-that-tricked-latin-america/ t. Real l33t cyberpunk
