Drugs for a peaceful passing
Wintermute · 2023-02-05 18:31
I apologize in advance if this isn't allowed, but I read the rules and searched the catalog and didn't find anything.
If you were to go out, what would you take in order to make the process as "clean" and peaceful as possible? I'm thinking something injectable so that you can't vomit it, long-lived enough that it will remain in effect until you finally pass away, and that has analgesic properties so it isn't too painful. Hypothetically, what would be your top picks, if it came down to this?

Old age is a peaceful way to go. It's a slow acting drug so you get time to do things you were too afraid to do before since why not, you're dying.

>To stop the heart, potassium chloride is administered directly after the vecuronium bromide. Without proper sedation, this stage would be extremely painful. The feeling has been likened to 'liquid fire' entering veins and snaking towards the heart.
>If the inmate is not fully paralysed, their muscles will also spasm uncontrollably, causing them to buck on the gurney, according to Dr Morley. This is because potassium sends signals to every muscle in the body to contract.

The human body is difficult to kill because it is biologically primed to survive. It is especially difficult to kill a human being peacefully. If you want to guarantee your death it will always be painful and bloody. Dropping a cinder block on your head, shooting yourself with a shotgun, jumping in front of a train. All of these are bloody and quite painful.
>you glitterboys just make up some specific notion of peacfulness and pain and then expect other people to design systems for you that can acheive it and also be done by only one hyper depressed moron without any external help and thus soykaf up imageboards with your retarded drivel.

Miho Iwakura · 2023-02-06 05:56
Obviously heroin/fentanyl. People accidentally die on it all the time, so much so that it's become a pervasive social problem. I almost died on it once. I felt really good and comfy, then I blacked out, then I woke up in the ER being told that I'm lucky to be alive. Just make sure you do it somewhere where no one will find you.
Good luck. It's your body, your choice. If you don't want to live on this gay planet anymore, no one has the right to stop you from leaving. Just make sure to cross everything off your bucket list first because there is definitely no afterlife.
Apoc · 2023-02-06 09:20

Don't listen to this guy. Holding up a cinder block and dropping it on your head definitely will not kill you, and the success rate of self-inflicted shotgun blasts to the head is only 70% because most people reflexively flinch while pulling the trigger. The train stuff is generally likely to succeed, but then there is the moral problem that you're forcing an unwilling participant to manslaughter you. Furthermore, all violent methods of suicide have the added risk that you'll puss out. No one likes pain.
That other guy is right about going the intention OD heroin/fentanyl route. First off, it's literally a painkiller, so you don't really have to build up the nerve to do it. Unlike most other forms of suicide, if you survive you probably won't end up as a permanently brain damaged cripple. Another problem the intentional heroin OD method solves is it's easy to convince your family you're not suicidal when you survive a heroin OD. Just tell them you had a secret opioid addiction the whole time. They might still force you into rehab, but they do a 5150 on psychiatric hold on you and they won't take measures to prevent you from killing yourself. They'll only take measures to prevent you from getting high again.
Oh yeah, and no matter how much you fuarrrk up the dosage, every time you do heroin the chance of you reaching an early grave goes up automatically anyway. Just make sure to buy from different dealers and always take all of it at once. You can't lose!
Mentat · 2023-02-06 18:17
Helium. Your body detects CO2 levels to determine if you're suffocating, so if you replace oxygen with an inert gas like helium you won't feel the "burning" feeling you get when you hold your breath. You'll likely just feel lightheaded then pass out before dying of suffocation.
but dont kill youreself you have so much to live for ;(

Crazy Jake · 2023-02-06 19:31

should be easy to burn the oxygen off beforehand. Also gah lee they can't possibly do that for all helium sources. What about for use as an inert gas ? Anyone caught adulterating that with oxygen should be shot.
>>12134
> the success rate of self-inflicted shotgun blasts to the head is only 70% because most people reflexively flinch while pulling the trigger
this is interesting but should be solveable easily by anyone of modest compotence with a little forethought. Problem imo with most failed suicides is that they're acts of brief passion that totally lack planning and are done by emotional wrecks who arent thinking straight anyway. Anyone on this board should be able to rig up a system to i.e. simultaneously shoot three bullets into different essential organs and use it in a place unlikely to be quickly discovered, and after consuming a significant amount of bloodthinners.
Reading about failed shotgun-to-the-head suicides many of them sound like the problem isn't a 'flinch' so much as that they're not even aimed at the head but at the face from below. Gun is pressed against the body and under the jaw such that it comes out through the face. Sloppy job but would probably be effective anyway if not for the fact that most of these survivals have other people present (perhaps in the next room) who immediately call for help.

Not necessarily true, prolonged oxygen deprivation can do fuarrrked up things to a brain, and that is how you die from an overdose. If you get to the brink of death like that but don't quite make it over the edge you aren't going to come back normal.

The easiest and most obvious answer everyone first assumes would be fentanyl, cause you can just huff a lil' and you dieded, but that's boring.
In terms of things you can reasonably find in something like our great savior, Lord of our Land, Wal-Mart, perhaps it would seem fitting to fill a large or huge jumping castle (as pictured) with the gasses from whipped cream cans and PC air duster canisters. both of these contain a sufficienctly small amount of oxygen in ratio to their other gaseous components that they will make you die from suffocation.
The plan is to crawl inside once it's fully blown up and tape it closed from the inside so it can still be used as a funhouse for everyone, while your pitiful body convulses within it

Not in my personal experience. Narcan works pretty well. If I have severe mental disabilities these days everyone I know sure is god about keeping it a secret from my retarded ass. And in any case, any damage you do receive from prolonged lack of oxygen probably won't be as bad as a non-fatal gunshot wound or surviving a jump off a building. And again, the main draw here is that ODing on a painkiller is the diametric opposite of painful. Suicidal people don't want to maximize their suffering dude. They want to end it.

As far as I've gathered, wizchan is a better place for asking sudoku tips. Try there, since we don't need the stink of this soykaf here.
Additionally, what you should note is that the base root of your problems won't just magically cease from tormenting you after you annihilate your current avatar. You'll come back to a form of subjective experiencing again, again and again, forever - with a different set of contigent human issues to be overcome each time, sure, but you can't escape physical existence itself until you reach Gnosis, which is just a transition to an existence outside space and time. So, the best advice anyone can give you is to get comfortable and try to "suffer well", because non-existence doesn't exist, sudoku is literally pointless in the face of eternity and the only path to physical emancipation is becoming God.

But seriously, if you kill yourself, you won't magically come back. That's just a meme people use to keep you alive. Again, it's your body, your choice. You never actually consented to being alive. It's your right to stop playing the game any time you want. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise. Just make sure to maximize you fun in this life before you go.

>But your energy is returned to the universe immediately. Your brain starts decaying and the tiny electrical current that ran through it dissipates back into the earth.
How does that contradict anything stated?
>There is no reason to believe you will live forever as an eternal soul.
Materialist doctrines (i.e. this is purely a world of causes and effects, the number 0 doesn't ontologically correspond to anything existing, matter is dead and something came out of absolute non-existence) can't account for free-will, subjective experience and the essence of thoughts, because if matter is dead, then we would be in complete thrall to the causes and effects of natural laws - this is actually why materialist atheists, such as Daniel Dennett and Richard Dawkins among others claim that consciousness is an illusion, just a figment of our brains: it utterly ruins their space-time dependent worldview. So, either reality is made up of mind or matter - if latter, free-will shouldn't be possible, but if former, then it's necessitated, since it implies acausal actions and things which have their reason in themselves.
>That is a lie people use to cope with their (perfectly normal) fear of death.
That is the case only for New Age fuarrrkwits, who really don't understand what Eternal Recurrence implies. To those who truly do, it's a curse which instills in them a fear of life, not of death.
>Actually even if you did reincarnate forever it wouldn't matter because we definitely do have evidence that no one can recall anything about their "past lives".
There are cases where people have claimed such experiences. It can't be verified by empiricism, of course, since that would imply being able to go beyond space and time and back again with your cognizance intact.
>So really what are you even gaining from threatening a suicidal lainon with the curse of infinite reincarnation?
Hardly a threat. Mere warning, or suggestion, perhaps.
>If he wants to end it, that is his right.
Never said I was totally against it. He might wipe the table clean as far as his currently experienced issues go, (which, if it's a totally soykafty hand that has been dealt to him/her, can be a good thing) but if the sheer fact of existence is what's bothering him/her, then no amount of "Groundhog Daying" yourself is going to make it go away.
>I'd expect someone who's been on a few drug trips to not still be that afraid of death.

>but we have better tools for investigating how the universe actually works now
You need to understand what metaphysics actually means. It literally means "after physics". It's true that we have better tools for investigating how physics works but we still do not have better tools for investigating metaphysics. It's kind of weird that you think that your opinions (materialism) are given as truth but you call other people "selfish" for trying to give their own opinions on this topic.
>He also believed the universe rotated around the earth you know.
That's not a valid argument. Saying that a person is wrong on X doesn't mean that he is also wrong on all other things. You started to talk about something completely different here.
>Just please stop threatening suicidal people with eternal life.
My goal wasn't "threatening" anyone. But if you are threatened by this kind of possibilities, then you probably shouldn't kill yourself yet. Instead, you should think about things more (until you get a satisfactory answer for yourself) because if you are scared or threatened, it just means that you aren't sure, yet. Committing suicide is such a big decision, so you shouldn't do it too hastily (regardless what you believe happens after you kill yourself).
>No one can consent to anything until they're at least 16 years old.
Are you sure you aren't talking about something entirely different again? Also, the immortal soul is certainly much older than that.

There's a difference between exhibiting "an excessive pride in oneself or one's achievements [while] having no doubt about the value of what you know or have done" and admitting that it is next to impossible to make another person see the world through your own eyes if their sense of self is underpinned by a certain kind of understanding of the world around them and an unwillingness to engage with the other person.
Ironically, however, the impression you're giving off *is*, in fact, one of smugness, as in: "I've got everything figured out already, so I can just try to belittle them for their opinions instead of decimating them with my obviously superior arguments and logic grounded on fool-proof science, so get bent".
I mean, if they are as retarded opinions as you claim them to be, then you probably won't even break a sweat decimating them, or what? But we both know that isn't going to happen, because of your autism, which inhibits you from engaging in philosophy - just like most of modern day autistic scientists who refuse to admit that mathematics has an existence independent of humans, yet still can't explain why literally everything they do revolves around a subject which apparently has nothing to do with real world, but still manages to have a quality of "unreasonable effectiveness" to it.
Get bent, scrub.

Blah blah blah, it's really simple actually.
OP, were you alive before you were born?
...
So, you were dead?
...
Well, what's the difference between not being alive and being dead?
...
So, basically, you were dead, and now you're alive?
...
So, you came back from death.
...
Well, what's to say next time you die, you won't come back also?
...
Say, do you remember any past lives? The mannerisms and personality and habits and ways of thinking, do they all come from a past life?
...
Well, if all the events of your current life which lead you to the point you're at now have shaped your thinking, and these do not follow you after death, then this "you" who's screaming for unexistence now won't be there in your next life either.
...

is it comforting to you? to convince yourself that your 'avatar' will not rejoin the emptiness that it came from once you pass on? is it comfortable to cozy yourself with delusions that will let you ignore the root cause of your fear, without ever directly facing it? you and anyone who believes this soykaf is a loser too piss scared to accept there's no magical realm past the last breath. no amount of 'rationality' your little brain comes up with is going to change that. all my 'rational' mind sees is the void we came from ahead of us. no convenient rebirth realm on sight.

I really don't get it why people would assume reincarnation to be solely a comforting idea, because I personally haven't seen it in that light at all. Can't it also be the most horrifying one there is? Is there nothing more maddening than the idea of an infinity forced upon you? Anything involving infinity usually is. Nietzsche realized this +100 years ago, even though he thought of it only as a mere hypothetical, but the truth is that whatever we feel about it is inconsequential to the universe. No matter how much kicking or screaming I do will change any of it.
Coming to grips with the idea of reincarnation took me about 2-3 years of psychological adjustment, during which time my only comfort for the day was a dreamless sleep, while the rest of the day was filled with suicidal ideations from the moment I woke up in the morning till I went to sleep. Even after getting somewhat over it, I'm still left with a sense of added heaviness to my lived experience. But the two reasons which kept me from killing myself even during the heights of my despair were the thought that I'd have to go through this all over for an infinity of times in the future, if I can't manage to find liberation this time around, and the thought that I'd cause needless suffering to my family by my act.
Carl Jung once said that there are experiences so intense that you are forced to believe them, even if they defy your reason. This is what I tried to convey in my earlier posts, but people took it as me being smug for some reason. And no, I didn't convince myself of anything, although, if we're being pedantic here for a second, every belief comes down to a moment of personal choice. But no, I was convinced by Mike Hockney and Thomas Stark. According to them it all comes down to mathematics, specifically to numbers 0 and infinity, and if we accept that all numbers correspond to an ontological existent and that we're living in a mathematical universe, then all the rest follows.
What I wanted to tell OP was that if the sheer fact of existence is what's bothering him, then it might be better in the long run if he were to fight his demons now, rather than in a later life. But we were never told what his motivations for sudokuing were, so we have no idea how pressing his reasons for leaving are. I never said I was totally against it, but there are better reasons and far worse ones to put an end to your current conscious experience.
But go ahead, tell me I'm trolling here, call me smug, a clown, a new age fuarrrkwit, a bully and all the names in the book you can think of. I wish I didn't care, but I'd be lying, because the fact that they don't describe me at all cuts me even deeper and makes it all the more worse.

Your implication with 'Gnosis' seems to point out that your cycle is not 'infinite', if you're working towards some goal 'reaching Gnosis' that will break said cycle. If we're talking of infinite timescales here, your 'avatar' will reach that state eventually. As soon as you insert an escape condition in an infinite plane, then that escape condition will eventually be reached, unless, of course, we're talking in magical realm logic and 'gnosis' is an unreachable metaphor or something. and thus, being fated to become god in a magical realm sounds pretty comfy to me. but i would love to hear more of your thoughts on this soykaf and if I am missing something in this philosophy of yours. the other lainon interpreted your post as an imperative theological statement against suicide, which it honestly is, which is why you're being berated. so elaborate your reasoning instead of spilling the soykaf and arguing.

Yes, that was also one of my first thoughts but I think it's riskier since there's always the risk of subconsciously tearing the mask off and ending up with brain damage.

I'm sure that both of you have good intentions despite disagreeing, and I really appreciate your thoughts. It's thanks to lainons like you guys that Lainchan is such a nice place to hang out on.
I didn't want to go on into the reason why I have made this decision because this is /drg/ so I wanted to stay on topic, but since the thread has already kind of derailed and you guys seem somewhat interested.. It's due to guilt. I won't go into many details, but I'm not a good person. I've always thought when I was younger, that people like the "me" from right now should just die, rather than continuing to exist and slowly decay, rotting everything around them. It seems like that time has come for me.

fuarrrk the topic lain!! let's talk about this. why do you feel guilty? is it because you had a trauma when you was younger? or did you always feel like this?
guilt it something that is forced upon us at an early age, especially if you grew up in a christian family, you are taught that you are a sinner and you must repent. guilt is also something common for traumatized kids, for example when a kid has divorced parents. the kid will feel like it is his / her fault, i also experienced this. (since we are on lainchan, read lain's diary from the game, the authors really know how a guilt ridden kid feels and how trauma works), this then translated to the person feeling guilty without even knowing why, when he / she grows up.
but if neither of these situations are relatable to you, tell me more! i mean, you have nothing to lose at this point right? let's talk about it!

If you're a pedo, a trans, a racist, and/or a sociopath, you're actually pretty based in my book OP. You just gotta find your tribe. And, you know, not get arrested. It is society that is gay. Therefore, if you feel like you shouldn't be part of it that's just evidence you're not gay.

If you are guilty because of what you are, that's kinda retarded, if you are guilty due to deeds you've done then how does killing yourself help anything? If you're really chasing some sort of justice or retribution then you can do this simply by being a good person. You can do things that are a bigger good than your baddest bad. Wouldn't it be an injustice to do bad soykaf in the world and then take with yourself all possibilities of redemption?
Also since you feel guilty at all then you're not so bad yknow?
>rotting everything around them
Just do like me and isolate yourself from all others then you can't hurt anyone '~'
>It seems like that time has come for me.
With all due respect that's based on probably nothing at all laney
What if the person you actually want to kill is just the you from right now? I was thinking like this when i was younger too, and guess what, i did kill myself. Simply by continuing to live. Because the me i am now is not the me i was years ago. The simple fact i can make the distinction means the previous me has ceased to exist. It was strange to just wait it out but it really worked. Hope this nonsense doesn't disappoint you of my take on your issue.

Common Lainchan W. All of y'all.
You know, if some random lainons on the internet actually wants to see you prosper, why not hold it off, yeah?
IMO, you call yourself a terrible person but a truly terrible person wouldn't be able to recognize that and feel any guilt about it. You're a good lad, lainon. I want to see you post more around here. :)
I have no idea how rough it is, but I at least wanna see us talk about it before anything goes.

You're telling on yourself. It's always the people most violently antipedo who turn out to be pedod: https://www.reddit.com/r/facepalm/comments/1002bur/clip_from_andrew_callaghans_new_hbo_doc_this/
Normal people view pedos as people with a mental disorder they were either born with or received through severe trauma. They need mental health treatment, not being burned at the stake.

It's not the case, I did have a pretty rough childhood but I've grown past that. When I was in my late teens, I've took some time to reflect and thought out a plan and a moral code for my life that I would follow. Betrayal was pretty high on my list of things to never do, and I still did betray the trust of those whom I loved. It's been some years now and I just can't go back to how I was before, I've almost completely lost the will to move foward and actually live, and since then I have been "merely existing" as they say, meaninglessly.

Bro i'm existing meaninglessly too. Rough childhood too but idk how much it compares to yours.
I'll tell you something nobody knows which is a sentence i told my dad back then when he had cancer before he died, Good people mean to do well. They just don't always end up doing well. Dunno but i always regret not being able to say something better in those moments, i've had to be there for plenty grieving people when i was just a damn kid and you have no idea what to say at that age. So it is possible that your teen you is still holding you back, but i'd wager teen you doesn't have the wisdom you do, so, eh?
I've been there kinda too, don't know in terms of intensity but i can tell you i wanted to kms and i thought about it a lot too, but i just kept kinda truckin? And today i'm still here. And it's honestly looking not that bad for me. I got to a more peaceful place, i'm not so angsty anymore. In the end the truth is simply that it feels better to laugh than to cry. I don't really know how to explain this stuff because it's all hard to put into words sorry, Ii just hope it helps you out!
You'll need to understand the way you work and the things you need. For me when i was in the bigger depression phases i knew good weapons were warm showers, tasty heavy hot meals (spicy is good for me) not being tired, and being warm generally. And a whole lot of patient stoicism. Good music does wonders.
Now nowadays i still somewhat exist meaninglessly, but meh. I am my own meaning. There are other meanings such as standing for Good in the world. But i'm at a point where i just deal with depression as an annoying unwelcome demon who is weak but its strengths lie in my weaknesses blah blah blah, i live now as just needing little and looking for happiness when it presents itself like sunshine or a rainbow, and when something seems like it brings unhappiness then i just walk away from it.
So i kinda know real dark, and i hope that things are better for you. Depression can turn people into losers, and then they look in the mirror and they hate themselves because they see losers and it just makes them more depressed and turns them into even bigger losers. They don't understand that the loser thing is temporary and that they could be the biggest winners and also that it doesn't mean they are bad people to the core.
Eh i'm just rambling now. But, of course i just sense a soul in pain and i get annoyed because depress is fuarrrking over somebody again.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Lainon, I appreciate the thought that went into your post greatly (as well as for the song, I'm enjoying it).
>Id wager teen you doesn't have the wisdom you do, so, eh?
Actually, I think that the way I look at life has changed very little from when I was 15 or so which was when I really got into philosophy, watched SEL/Evangelion, and got into prog rock. Maybe I'm just a terribly immature adult, but I like to think that I had life more or less figured out by then, and objectively speaking it has been going well. I did learn a lot since then (I'm halfway through my 20s), but mostly knowledge in the field that I decided to pursue.
>For me when i was in the bigger depression phases i knew good weapons were warm showers, tasty heavy hot meals (spicy is good for me) not being tired, and being warm generally. And a whole lot of patient stoicism.
I can still enjoy things, but everytime I realize it it feels so bad, you know? It's difficult to explain, but it feels like I don't deserve it.
>Good music does wonders
Yes, definitely. Most of the time where I felt the happiest for being alive was listening to music.
>Depression can turn people into losers, and then they look in the mirror and they hate themselves because they see losers and it just makes them more depressed and turns them into even bigger losers.
100% true.
>They don't understand that the loser thing is temporary and that they could be the biggest winners and also that it doesn't mean they are bad people to the core.
I have tried waiting it out for a few years, but nothing has changed. I can't look in the mirror or think about myself a single time without feeling like soykaf.

>introspective thread
you clearly have the requirements to do that, so try to really think why this often happens to you:
>i don't deserve this
>i feel guilty
i don't know if you noticed, but you do this a lot. i think that there is something under there, and if you understand the root of this you might be better.
the feeling of "wandering and merely existing" is often something that happens whenever we shut down our brains because we don't want to deal with things that we need to hide. This is how neurosis are developed. A point where you cannot even say what's exactly wrong with you, just general issues; a point where you "merely exist" without seeing a way out.
You can get away with this by really thinking trough these feelings i cited, but it could be very painful, maybe you will find out things you can't even remember now. I am talking about a catharsis.
But eventually you will come out of the hell as a survivor. I don't want to lie to you and say that you'll feel happy or content. But you'll look back and you'll know that you can overcome anything now.
Maybe also try to think why you need to have a moral code and why betraying others really bothers you so much. These things are part of the classic moral code of society, yes even "having a moral code" is a society moral itself. Separate what you truly want vs what you unconsciously took from society (having read philosophy i hope you understand this concept)

>I can still enjoy things, but everytime I realize it it feels so bad, you know? It's difficult to explain, but it feels like I don't deserve it.
So you don't deserve it according to who? I never came across the Big Book of Who deserves Happiness™
That's what i'm saying, depression lies to you, it's a fuarrrking crook and it's better if you realize it. It's double worse because basically, you are sabotaging your own happiness. So obviously you're not gonna be feeling good!
>I have tried waiting it out for a few years, but nothing has changed. I can't look in the mirror or think about myself a single time without feeling like soykaf.
And that's okay. Doesn't make you scum or bottom of the barrel. I had been living with untreated depression for 6~7 years now and i'm starting to climb out the pit now. I'm looking up and being strangely hopeful & positive probably because i've explored all the soykaf doomful thinking and total hopeless pessimistic fatalism and now i'm like EH, we've done this already, being mind-whiney doesn't sound as appealing now. Yes i say appealing because i do truly believe that when i get a depression phase, a part of me is collaborating with it because i *want* to be depressed. Maybe i just thought the world is kinda dumb and not made for people like me (INFP, among various other things) so i was rejecting it and retreating into myself i guess, but also because i'm a shutin neet and lack of activity and mental stimulation is really not good for you!
I am of the opinion that depression, just like it did for me back then, has fuarrrked the way you think. I knew for sure when looking in the mirror and seeing a haggard, unkempt, unwashed skinnyfat virgin that i would like myself a lot more if i was all clean and lean with a lot more muscle. But depression made it so i could sometimes have stints of motivation and clumsily work out in my dark room doing pushups on the ground, but it lead nowhere because i failed to realize something: i was in the wrong container (the same old dark depressing messy neetcave) and i did not have the proper environment to influence my mentality in a way that could bring the best out of me. Neet = no evolution, stagnation, depression. If i had one thing that i had to head out for every day, as dumb and simple as it sounds like neighbor wants me to turn off his watering system every morning, i would already have been in better shape. And i know that i perform much much better as a person when i'm OUT of my neetcave in longer duration, like a few months or so. So the Environment you're in is very important because of what it provides you and how it limits you, in terms of everything like opportunities and outlook at life and much much more. I know this to be the case in my situation(s).
Why do you think states use solitary confinement as one of the worst punishments? Because it fuarrrks people up! Look up Harry Harlowe's Monkey pit experiment.
I also used to hate myself, a lot. With overcoming depression lately, i just kind of gradually stopped? I know i'm a bit of a loser but don't hate myself for it. Depression whispers toxic bullshit into your mind for sure!
And take this, more moosic!
