Just made it to 8 months clean off opiates and opioids after doing an ibogaine detox. Miraculous medicine, nothing else like it known to man. Anyone else?

In mexico its legal and you can get it done with medical supervision because its potentially lethal even if your in perfect health. I went to a clinic to have it done and was glad that I did because the ibogaine was really hard on my heart and I had to be given adrenaline. Would never recommend doing it without medical supervision.

did you go to a clinic or just buy iboga? did you take the root or pure ibogaine? and what opiates were you on when you quit?
I ask because I have been thinking about trying ibogaine to get off opiates for a few years now. Currently I am on methadone but I was an IV heroin addict for the last 10 or so years. I looked into ibogaine clinics but they all wanted to charge me like 10k which seemed like a scam, especially when i could find iboga root on the DNMs for like $300

>did you go to a clinic or just buy iboga?
a clinic in mexico
>did you take the root or pure ibogaine?
pure ibogaine hcl
>and what opiates were you on when you quit?
I went from doing massive doses of poppy tea, to kratom, to morphine at the clinic, but in my decade pluss of experience with opis I did them all from CWE codeine to shooting up fentalogs. overall the ones I did the most was Heroin, Poppy Tea, and Kratom.
Please research the idea extremely extremely well before making any decisions and speak directly with a number of reputable long term providers. They dont charge 10k for the ibogaine itself, frankly they charge you the exact same amount as buying ibogaine itself (I was thinking the same exact thing as you and was planning to do it at home by myself starting with a low dose but was convinced that it was not a safe or practical idea by professionals and because I almost died during the treatment and had to be IVed with adrenaline to save my life I learned they were right FAST), but you have to pay for all the other services that come with the treatment which are the most critical parts that make an ibogaine detox safe and effective.

Jens Hansen · 2023-10-05 14:39
I understand the Ibogaine is much more powerful than the "classical" psychedelics, possibly even DMT. How would you compare the addiction-removing effects of Ibogaine to treatment with classical psychedelics like mushrooms or DMT, if you have tried to use the latter for the same purpose?
Koos van der Merwe · 2023-10-05 14:48
>>14079
for opi detox in specific its incomparable, ibogaine has a unique ability to purge the opi receptors and reset the body from that form of addiction. no other psychedelic can do that, other than certain ibogaine analogs. no compound we know of can do that for other addictions though. psychedelics generally just help tremendously with shifts in perception and behavior and that is the manner in which they classically assist in helping the process of detox and recovery, but nothing else we know of has anything comparable to the effect ibogaine has on opi addiction.

Why don't i hear of people intentionally killing themselves with this stuff? only 33 deaths i think and most of them were addicts trying to get clean. it seems like it could do the job quickly and easy enoug to get, and from what ive been seeing even legally over ebay or etsy . morbid edgy questions aside, i was hoping it could help me stop being a pussy rather than doing durgs, so maybe the stuff should be studied to see how it interacts with people that have things like ptsd, depression, autism etc maybe i should try my luck with salvia again

>Has ibogaine helped anyone with stimulant addictions or polysubstance addiction?
Im sure it has but its no magic key for anything other than opis.
>Also what does it feel like?
Unlike anything else, at once a tryptamine, disso, and and kappa opi activator.
>How long does it last?
Anywhere from 4 hours to over a week, varies tremendously.
>Is it different from a dmt or lsd trip and how?
Entirely and unexplainably different.
Gyula Kovacs · 2024-11-02 13:50
>>16464
cheers, I figured it was most likely unexplainably different from what I was seeing but you never know. i know theres some idea floating around that actually (almost) all addictions relate to opiate receptors even when theres some other addictive component (like in case of stimulants) so maybe it could be helpful for me. However my addiction is not quite serious enough (im more just concerned about developing an addiction again which I have had in the past and "beat") to take that leap into the unknown, I feel like even an acid trip which im very familiar with could totally disrupt my life right now in all ways. So the idea of this totally unfamiliar but equally mind altering and challenging thing is very nerve wracking, Id definitely want some kind of professional to guide me through it. Il keep it in mind as an option for if or possibly more like when things get out of hand.
Incognito · 2024-11-02 19:16
>>16470
Interesting about it the mention of (almost) all addictions being opi related, been hot footing that trail for a while now by researching opi peptides and other endogenous releases of opis from behavior addictions and other various (non-opi) psycho-actives. Both as a matter of private top secret research. I would never recommend ibogaine in a flood dose for anyone outside a medically professional setting and personally I would never recommend it for anything but opi addiction unless it was a last resort.
Motoko Kusanagi · 2024-11-02 23:22
>>16472
I only know about it because I was prescribed either naloxone or I think naltrexone for a non substance related addiction and it did in fact work (but was miserable) and then I looked into why (and was also vaguely told why it might work when I asked the psychostrist) and found some studies. Just in case your worried your top secret research leaked or something.
Sabo Engle · 2024-11-03 06:57
>>16476
Not worried at all. Its only top secret because the more I research it the more it seems to be continually proven, and the more I realize that its been a well known thing amongst professionals but almost entirely unknown by common folks. Opioid peptides are released from a lot of different things. I figure they did this to you for either some sort of self harm thing or some sort of eating disorder? Both of those have to do with the endogenous opioid system.
Yet Another Lainon · 2024-11-04 12:18
>>16477
Yeah it was self harm issue that wasnt going away in spite of my depression seeing noticeable improvements. Itd be weird to say it felt good obviously hurting yourself hurts but it had become this exciting borderline meditative activity I would genuinely look forward to on weekends and it didnt really matter what kind of mood I was in or if I was suicidal or not. The naltrexone did help it to stop but I didnt continue with it for very long because it made it feel like a warmness I didnt even know was present in life was suddenly sucked out. That could totally be something I just invented in my head to stop taking it, it was like 6 years ago. But I do strongly remember sitting by some flowers and looking at them and feeling like normally id feel something I wasnt anymore. Feeling like there was a sort of peace missing from the experience of that that I never even really appreciated or noticed till it was gone. That sentiment pretty much immediately went away after I stopped taking it though and no harm done (as far as I know).

My man, you'll never know unless you try it yourself. Plebbit has quite a few experience reports as well. I've taken an unbelievable amount of sussy nootropics, herbal supplements, and research drugs despite the lack of studies. NSI-189 actually helped my gf and I kick the bottle for a few months, but we had just started taking it and randomly decided to stop drinking. Kept away from the bottle for another month after running out of NSI-189, but then picked it up again out of boredom/anxiety.

I dunno, alcoholism affects the heart quite a bit and ibogaine/iboga does too and has been documented to cause serious heart complications. This probably could finish the old geeza, if done very carefully under medical watch it may be worth it but without that things could go very wrong.
Mitnick · 2025-06-11 14:18

it could maybe but it doees not work as a magic bullet for anything other than opis. it would not take away alcohol withdrawal or alcoholism.
Ein · 2025-06-11 15:05
>>18437
but i thought the whole point it was a magic bullet for "addiction" in general, i thought it helps uproot the underlaying cause of the behaviour so one just stops their usual pattern cause it dismantles the thinking or reactions behind an addicts cravings. ill be totally honest with you, i have no clue really but assumed it only helped the opi addicts the most because that was the most common, disabling addiction that people came forward with.
question. is it the trip itself that helps provide insight into ones addictions/abuse or just an afterglow of sorts that has weird but useful effects on receptors and such

Tequila · 2025-06-12 20:38

Based on trip reports it seems to help with any kind of habitual behavior. Idk why the other guy is being like that. I guess ibogaine doesn't help with realizing other people's experiences exist. Which makes sense, it's just a drug. Anyways, it seems the effects last a few months as an afterglow and most people need to take it again. I'm sure the ones who don't need to re-up on the drug were able to quit all along.
Drifter · 2025-06-12 21:06

to be fair it is the main one that has been studied by experts for opi addiction and depencey. time will tell perhaps but i figured its an "anti-trauma" drug of some kind if applied carefully.

LSD and shrooms both (can) have this effect as well, and are easier to get. Ibogaine is also a psychedelic, and can likely do similar things psychologically, but it's used by opiate addicts specifically because it act uniquely on opiate receptors and aids in opiate withdrawal. Addiction is addiction, but opiate detox is not alcohol detox.
