L-Theanine can help. I also heard that small doze of L-Glutamate can help.

I recommend exercise to train your mind on something pragmatic, it might also help you to talk to a few like-minded people.

Try magnesium glycinate sublingual tablets. If that's not good enough closest to what you described is kava but I'm not sure how bad it is compared to alcohol just it can harm kidneys but taking milk thistle extract is supposed to help that but unclear the long term effect as far as in aware.

>>11017 Your constraints are too strict, there is no such miracle drug. Everything that works is obviously necessarily psychoactive and therefore restricted. Anxiety is inextricably interlinked with inhibition and self-control. There arent that many options, so instead of listing what you want and searching for the perfect drug that matches, you need to go through each option available. Then decide whether the tradeoffs are beneficial for you or not, and consider different ways that you could use and combine the tools available. You need to experiment to learn your own reactions to these tools, there is huge variance between people. Opioids, benzodiazepines, stimulants are all viable options. >>11024 I dont understand this comment. That's what he's obviously trying to do. Are you suggesting

Phenibut has all the effests you're looking for. But it's addictive, don't do it more than twice a week.

>>11017 Low dose of dxm is very effective for social anxiety from my experience. Its available and cheap but addictive and is very intense at higher dosages. I know a couple of people that lost their marbles from dxm for a couple of months or so.

>>11017 have you considered kratom? you can't buy it in a drugstore but it's legal in most places and can easily be found online

Phenibut is a pretty good anxiolytic but personally I found that the other effects became too strong before it did much for my social anxiety. Definitely better than alcohol though. Be aware it's a GABAergic drug just like alcohol and benzos so it's physically addictive and withdrawal can cause seizures. It's not something you can do every day, you really need 2-3 days off between doses to avoid dependency. Of the drugs I've tried by far the best was kratom. Kratom for me is what I hoped phenibut would be like. The cognitive effects are very subtle and even at high doses I can still think just as well as when I'm sober and get soykaf done without crippling social anxiety. It acts on the opioid receptors so it is physically addictive though not nearly as much as phenibut. I used it for 6 days straight with no withdrawals or noticeable tolerance though I would still take 2-3 days off every week. Main downside is its short duration. Only a few hours vs phenibut which will last all day. Another is l-theanine. It doesnt do anything for me on its own but when combined with a stimulant like 2-fma it's the difference between leaving the house and going on with my day as planned, and closing all the windows because I think my neighbors are looking at me and researching some useless topic for 6 hours straight. Whenever I take any stimulant now I take about 250mg of l-theanine with it, just makes the experience so much more enjoyable. That being said, no drug is a solution to this problem. There's always tolerance, side effects, withdrawal, supply running out. It will work for a while but eventually the problem will catch up and you'll be back where you started plus a new addiction. In my experience social anxiety is a result of lack of confidence. Unironically start lifting, stop eating soykaf food, lose some weight, etc. That will do more for you than any drug.

I also recommend Kratom. Given the addictive and moreish nature of the stuff you should however only take it, if you engage in social situations and slowly reduce the amount until you basically take placebo doses. It also works to some extend as a substitute for alcohol and has the good side effect, that these two drugs don't mix well. Kratom has a hangover proportional to dose. I feel really tired and grumpy whenever I take too much of it or too late in the night. The tricky thing is, that another dose of Kratom can get you rid of the hangover, unlike with booze where you feel soykaf no matter what. This quickly leads to daily consumption. basic effects sorted by dosage (low --> heavy): - disgusting taste - mood enhancement - stimulation similar to caffeine, but less pushy - nausea - increased heart rate - small pupils - increased focus and motivation, comparable to Ritalin - calmness, sedation (more prominent with red vein strains) - decreased bowel movements, slower digestion - dehydration - exhaustion - puking - constipation - headache If you already use alcohol to self-medicate, you might have developed a dependence. Stay careful when switching to Kratom and if possible consult a doctor!

Huey Lewis and the News had a song about exactly this search, OP. You should look it up.

>>11068 >kratom >Current preclinical information on kratom suggests that this ethnodrug, containing several different active alkaloids, has a harmful toxicological profile and must be studied in detail in order to better define its potential as therapeutic drug [28]. >Acute administration of mitragynine produces anxiolytic-like effects attributed to the interactions among opioidergic receptor systems [29]. >Other authors attempted to reveal a possible link with the stress-related corticotropin pathway [30]. >Other evidences show that mitragynine exerts an antidepressant effect in animal behavioral model interacting with neuroendocrine HPA axis systems [31]. >Among its potential benefits, in addition to analgesic activity [13, 32], mitragynine seems to be also a key component for the anti-inflammatory properties of kratom by suppressing prostaglandin E2 (PGE-2) production in the cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2) pathway [16]. Moreover, some authors claim that kratom might be promising antioxidant and anticancer or chemopreventive compounds [33]. >Kratom extracts and mitragynine have been shown to possess cytotoxicity to some human cancer cell lines, namely, SH-SY5Y cells (neuronal cells), [34] and avoid the tolerance and dependence on chronic morphine treatment in mice as well as in human neuroblastoma SK-N-SH cell [35, 36]. >Other interesting properties of the compound might be the capability to modulate muscle neurogenic contraction [37–39] and gastric secretion [40]. >While kratom metabolites could have the potential to be developed as new therapeutic agents, there are also possible serious adverse effects of these materials under investigation. >There have been different studies showing serious conditions after repeated administration as elevated blood pressure, nephrotoxic effects [41], impaired cognition and behaviour [42, 43], dependence potential [42], and hepatic failure [41, 44]. >The onset of liver injury is described to occur within 2 to 8 weeks of starting regular use of kratom powder or tablets, with symptoms of fatigue, nausea, pruritus, and dark urine followed by jaundice [41, 44]. >The pattern of liver injury seems to be typically cholestatic and can be severe with serum bilirubin levels rising above 20 mg/dL [44]. >Kratom constituents were also identified to be potentially cardiotoxic, ideally potentiating Torsade de Pointes through inhibition of rapid delayed rectifier potassium current (IKr) in human cardiomyocytes [45]. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4657101/
